Just finished building mine today. Lots of little repetitions along the way but it is such a great build with bonkers techniques all along the way that you can't help but stay absorbed by it. It looks fabulous and by about half way I had already decided it NEEDS a custom built case to display it in. Just need to decide whether it will be vertical or horizontal. I love it4 points

I took the kids to a B-Day party to a place in one of the new malls in town, while there I received a phone call, got out of the place to take the call, saw a toy store next to the party place, saw a new box of series 17, took the 3 Rocket kids and 2 Corn guys....... A good day all around....3 points

Some of these sets are rare, some were discounted by SAH for months. There also seems to be susbtantial geographical disparity in distribution - a bit like those Panini sticker albums where everyone in the same area had the same doubles.1 point

I've always sold all of my minifigures opened packet, taking a photo of the un-assembled figure with accessories / stand / leaflat / bag in a sealed plastic bag. The price you will get compared to a sealed minifigure packet will be less, however for most newer series I haven't noticed a substantial difference in prices. For the early minifigure series there is a greater difference in price. Opening the packet also eliminates the time needed for smoothing (if like me and are rubbish at it) and also confirms to the buyer they are getting what you are advertising. There is a risk that if you don't open the packet and the buyer returns the item, he can just returns another undesirable minifigure from the series, you will not be able to win the case saying you smooshed the packet and received something else. One word of advice, some will say that once the plastic bag packet has been opened it is no longer considered "new" condition, and you need to list any opened bags as used on eBay, however I have never had anyone complain about this, but it should be kept in mind.1 point

Hey don't mess with the admiral. How about the re release of Darth Revan, Hoth Hahn, T1 weren't all of those "found" stock from old production runs? I can't recall spent too much time in the hot sun this weekend. Plus this a POD we know that LEGO has already made or will be making what is it 3 new different pods this year (I have this info from a trusted inside source who has set numbers and names) so will they reconfigure the mold to go back to the Batpod we shall see. Like you I dumped all mine to Asian markets except for today's they will go in the vault with the admiral1 point

For starters, it appears all LEGO Batman Movie sets are 20% off at Toys R Us/Toysrus.com this week. Including the new stuff... The Batpod might also be part of the promotion in-store. http://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=116696236&ab=TRU_BrandShop:LEGO_Batman_ShopNow:11 point

76057 is $90 75119 is $15 60124 is $100 75828 is $50 31051 is $40 (oos) That's all I saw looking back... just a few random markdowns I guess... thought it was more. Lighthouse definitely the best pick of the bunch.1 point

It is just the major brands such as Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, Panasonic, Canon, Denon, Sony etc. We were grandfathered into everything except for Apple. I wouldn't mess around selling Apple but it would be nice to have the option if it was free. No go on any of our accounts unfortunately. Maybe next time.1 point

Yea, they weren't showing as on sale, and I only saw about a couple per most themes. I got the Ecto 1 + 2 (x2) (Originally $75 I think, now $50) and Creator Lighthouse Point (x2) (Originally $75, now $40)1 point

Hello everyone Today we finished our Lego Star Wars Battle on Hoth Echo Base MOC after 7 years of building. We tried to put as much details as possible of the movie in the moc and we think the result turned out really well. But that is just our opinion. What do you guys think? We'd like to get some opinions of you and what you like and what we could improve next time. Greetings to all of you1 point

Maybe more suitable for the order status thread, but anyone else had their pods not ship yet? Ordered 5/31, I only had 3, status still shows items located in stock with 1 cancelled.1 point

HP has been my most profitable theme for used sets from bulk lots. People pay astounding amounts even for the first iterations!1 point

here is the deal, you have to be persistent, may even have to hire local attorneys or if you have friends and families in law enforcement in the jurisdiction it helps. in my case, last 2 were in New York. and i filed cases there. if you can get the police to knock the address and make the inquiry. most of the time people "buckle". they don't want that trouble especially if they get more than 2-3 visits then they will fold and tell who is doing what. this is how i found out that there were competitions causing some(majority) of the problem. long behold i got my item back. [lets just leave at that ]. for those lurkers in brick picker who are trying the same be careful you might not get away so easily. this is to the gentlemen from MO, and TN. you guys know who you are.1 point

Couple of long-discounted buildable characters seemed to skip the "retiring soon" stage and are now retired according to UK SAH. 75113 - Rey 75107 - Jango Fett Also: 76064 - Mighty Micros: The Flash vs Captain Cold 10829 - Duplo Mickey's Workshop1 point

I started working some concepts in Google SketchUp, and then moved to Lego Digital Designer. I estimate total design time was about 50 hours. I wanted to generally match the design and proportions of the lighthouse in the cartoon, and yet keep it minifigure scale. About 50 hours of design, just under 2000 pc, and just finished. I hope you like it.1 point

Don't know why Lego spread the figures over multiple bags. They should all go in bag 1 - gives the kids something to play with while you build their Lego1 point

My first post here. I came out of the dark ages a about four months ago, in February. This set up has been up for about 2 months now. Kinda stole the wife's stand. I have the minifigures for all of the sets but did not want to put them up yet. I recently built the Parisian Restaurant and London Bridge. Brick bank is unbuilt and I believe the wife bought me the detective office for my upcoming birthday. I am messing around with some light bricks, a few wires and such can be seen sitting on top of the fire station. We are living in a condo so room is limits. Have an entire empty house though but it is 75 miles away, go figure. We rented the house out for 3 months and that really helped with the funding for this and the unpictured collection. I have been buying a lot of bulk lots in the hopes of building some fan designed buildings. I have some serious catching up to do with some of you all. I have seen some very nice setups on here and it makes me want to get mine in a better situation. I wish I hard started back sooner. I wanted to right as the modulars were coming out but was hit with too much college debt. I did get my feet a little wet right before that and got a few nice trains. You know what they say about hindsight.1 point

Today we had a family day out in London to visit the DC Heroes - Art of the Brick. The models were so impressive, definitely worth a visit for those that are local. Here are a few snaps:1 point

So, guilty feelings. I called the store manager and told him the whole story. He looked up the craigslist ad which is still up. I told him that he or the local police could email the person and set up the purchase of the next gift card. Left the ball in their court and I'm done with this person.1 point
