I'm glad I sold mine already, though I wouldn't mind having more. My TRU will let me by them as soon as they're on the floor. I guess I'm getting poly season is starting up again. My wife is gonna hate me.2 points

I hear both kids screaming at the same time, it doesn't mean I listen to them either.2 points

I sold the rest of my Dimension packs about two weeks ago. 171 total and they were a combination of Homer, Zane, Wizard of Oz, Gimli, Legolas, Cragger, Gollum, Emmett, and Bad Cop. Selling these packs lately has been super slow and most of these are the bottom of the barrel packs. I was able to sell them all to one guy via CL for $2 a pack. I made $342 total, $155.61 of profit. Glad I was able to get rid of these all at once......and so was my wife.2 points

We have seen this before with other big sets like the modulars where the limit has been reduced during the summer months. I suspect this is when Lego is either shutting down some production lines for maintenance reduction in staff due to summer holidays pumping out inventory to fill those huge orders retailers have placed for the Christmas rush I think the Ferris wheel have one more year as they just retired Fairground Mixer earlier this year. But if people are buying the Carousel, people maybe picking up the Ferris Wheel, which means more sales and extended life.2 points

Sold my last bundle of Series 9 Mixels. Nice profit makers. 90% ROI after all fees and taxes. Interestingly enough, last two complete sets went to Russian buyers, looks like that's where there's interest in these. Only had one US based sale (others were different European countries, plus one sale to Canada)1 point

Passed on 2 squashed box Tie Strikers, 4 or 5 Arendelle Castle Celebration, and a stack of nexos, think they were Clay's Falcon Fighter Blaster, all at 50%. With a further 5% on giftcards available to me. Damaged boxes at 50% are too much work these days, and demand on the others isn’t going to happen. Sad state when 50% discounts aren’t worth it anymore.1 point

The ultimate LEGO investment? Not so much.1 point

I just got back from Walmart and found a huge selection of Lego (mostly Starwars) for 30-50% off. They were marked down June 1st. Obviously YMMV BM1 point

Nobody can. Or more precisely: You cannot do two (cognitively damanding) things (properly) at the same time. Multi-tasking is a myth. Splitting up your attention between two or more tasks will always lead to inferior results for every task involved. For the best results, sequential execution is inevitable. However, this case is about building LEGO and watching a movie - so it doesn't really matter.1 point

That's indeed the problem with picking up at Sears - you need to check which sets ship to it, and check frequently. Sometimes sets will suddenly ship to Sears, but there's only a very limited amount before they go back to KMart fulfillment only. I typically keep all sets that ship to Sears in my cart, so I can just refresh and see which ones dropped off. And single sets work great shipping to Sears - I just no longer a fan of them sticking the packing slip directly to the box.1 point

Hi, signed up while back and been collector 18 months or so, first time writing here - hello!. Realizing how complex and random collecting of some Lego themes can be, bit like betting on horses. Naively picked up lots of City at beginning of collecting last year (along with many SW sets), mainly as loved City as a kid but now seeing the constant realize rehashes dilute the theme (Coast Guard, Police). Whist this thread is on airport topic It's a shame the City Airport doesnt expand and use actual Airbus/Boeing etc. I know we have 787 a few years back but a more realistic airport theme I feel would be more exciting to collect, same as trains and ships, needs stronger transportation sub themes. Ive also collected other ranges, Creator, Technics, Jurassic, Scooby and found these to be very popular selling after set have retired. Also the Christmas/seasons sets seems to be good investments. i know I joined the party late and missed the glory days but I love Lego and love the buzz of collecting and selling. Just picked up some reduced RRP Palace Cinemas and Slave1s as hoping they retire EOY. Any tips appreciated. Cheers1 point

Saw these sets tagged yesterday when picking up a Saturn. The grain of salt would be that this is the same store that had a 'Retiring Soon' tag on Ewok Village at least 9 months before it actually happened, and well before it had the tag online, so this could be in the everything-but-the-Death-Star-retires-eventually category.1 point
