  1. Open for business! I loved this build. Looks great in the modular setting. Ferris Wheel is next, excited to see how they look together.

  2. My son finally finished off the Seacow. Our first ever ship and , I have to say , I'm very impressed. Love the colours and the ship design. So used to SW grey and black , it's great to see other colours in a set . Much bigger than I had imagined when the hull pieces were first put together.

  4. We just finished our Carousel, too. I'll add a couple of what the 3 fairground sets like like together (plus a petting zoo, Friends cotton candy stand, etc.) (sorry about the poor lighting): Also built the new Wonder Woman set (and added some other Justice League members to the fray):

  6. one of my best ebay message exchanges ever. we can't even make this stuff up. total fruitcake. happened 3 months ago. i was the buyer for a diagon alley set. - Sent by me at 7:47pm. "Hi. I just paid and did read your auction summary, A couple of missing pieces is fine. I take it that all minifigures are included? I also assume the lego retail box will mailed inside a shipping box for protection. Please let me know me know before mailing this set. Thanks," - seller's reply 11:34pm - "Dip those on some oil the shlt will get you faint" - my follow-up 12:24am- "What?" - seller's reply 6:07am - "I am so sorry for that message I was under the influence last night and I confused my eBay messages with my text messages. I would like to apologize for saying those words to you" - seller's reply 6:09am - "Yes it's all in the box and it will packaged as well" ha ha

  10. Through bag three. Love the build so far. Much closer to a technic set than a modular building. The rotation is smooth and ties in with the animal movement nicely. It's an excellent design. Ticket presale is open, line is down the block

  12. Lately every chance I'm near LLDC, I go in to buy the same thing. Today was no different. yellow submarine for $48 plus $4 corncob guy (always smooshing for him or for rocket boy but so far only corncob guys found) to reach $50 and get free r3-m2 droid polybag. May be little early investing in this ideas set but hard to beat that price after selling droid poly.

  16. I don't know, The Ghost is starting to become a real fan favorite and if they can make an AT-TE which was only in 1 or 2 episodes, I don't see why they wouldn't release another Ghost. They even release obscure sets like Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter which afaik was only featured in a cartoon from 13 years ago.

  17. I just finished 8037 Anakin's Y-Wing. It is part of a large Star Wars lot I picked up a few months ago. This is the first build I haven't enjoyed since getting back into Lego. It was repetitive and I'm fairly confident that the engines will fall off if I look at it the wrong way!

  18. No. Your memory is accurate. Bea is just a force ghost now while Betty is the Last Jedi

  20. Due to Walmarts clearance the signs are now apparent to what's about to get the whacking.. This is taken from my years of watching the walmart clearance go on, and for the sets that were discounted actually retiring the following late fall. The cycle goes on.. plus many of these follow the pattern of retirements. I think these star wars sets are gone by Black Friday (that lego.com sale that usually signals the death knell to retirees).. Out of all of these, I think there are only a few that are good investments. 75099 - Rey's Speeder 75101 - FO Special Forces Tie Fighter 75104 - Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle (Kylo Ren's Tie Interceptor is on the way -easy replacement) 75131 - Resistance Trooper Battle Pack 75132 - First Order Battle Pack 75137 - Carbon-freezing Chamber 75139 - Battle on Takodana 75145 - Eclipse Fighter 75148 - Encounter on Jakku 75151 - Clone Turbo Tank (Guarantee this one is gone) 75157 - Captain Rex's AT-TE I think two of last years Rogue One sets will get the axe, and I think it's these two, due to the clearance i'm seeing: 75154 - Tie Striker 75152 - Imperial Assault Hovertank UCS retirement 75095 - Tie Fighter (This set is gone.. it's been backordered on lego.com and out of stock at other sites. It may get one more wave, and then be retired.. I think it easily goes before the Slave 1)

  37. Something like this? I did it for a while for SH and SW, but stopped, as i didn't find it really helped all that much. Whilst it was useful in understanding price bracketing and to some extent marketing strategy and value (GBP/USD/EUR don't align so it's possible to spot under/over regional pricing – and where discounts are likely to occur). What it didn’t show was set availability as Lego EOL dates are largely meaningless with stores in the UK holding EOL stock at RRP for up to a year after the Lego EOL date. Edit to add: I pulled all the data from brickset manually

  47. Hi even though investing in Lego has become more challenging, the potential to build anything your imagination comes up with has never been greater. A while ago I decided I wanted to MOC my own house, recycling some profits from the reselling business in a really fun project. It took me a long time - clearly I lack lots of techniques, but I'm happy to show you the current status. I'm on a building break now before I open up the rooms to add some light bricks I bought from a Dutch specialized website. Once they are up and running, I'll probably post all the interiors too... (everything is 'Modular' - at least I learned something from my PS adventures :-)) Take care. ZULU
