Saw this MOC somewhere on the web and thought it was great so decided to recreate it...17 points

Silent Mary. Definitely not for everyone. Starts out as a mostly technic build. The hull is nice to build versus just putting together 5 solid pieces with a few technic pins in 30 seconds will have to see if the display of it grows on me. It is not a mirror symmetrical build so there are differences between the two sides. There are also "missing" pieces to give it that ghost ship appearance I think the only one I may have to add is the gold post that is part of the front railing. Not a fan of the breakaway mast and will probably mod that to be a little taller and fixed.8 points

I sold another Joker Steamroller this morning. Price isn't important. What is important is that now I'm down to only 41 left.3 points

This was my thought process as well if I decide to do it. I'd use it as a way to move some slow sellers at a decent price for the buyer, while still making a little profit. I'd probably put a few high dollar items in there as well to attract some of the high end collectors in the area. My sale would be strictly LEGO only, so not really a yard sale per se. I'd advertise it as such as well. Advertising on all of the Craig's boards in the surrounding areas, as well as on local Facebook groups a week or two in advance should get the word out and hopefully generate some traffic. I'd also have it the same weekend that my neighborhood has its annual neighborhood sale as well to take advantage of that foot traffic. I think it would be kind of fun.2 points

Ugh. Stupid autocorrect. Should be a good time. We've seen him now 5 or 6 times? We won the opportunity to meet him after the last show we were at. It was very cool.2 points

That's crazy to me. I had to quit my Very Competitive Men's Soccer League because I couldn't walk for 2-3 days after a game and that was a year or so ago still in my mid 30's. But same reason I decided to hang it up was due to having to play against college aged men that could run circles around me and I just couldn't fly as fast as them anymore without needed a long breather. Slightly different sports with non-stop vs play by play, but overall still takes agility, stamina, and determination. I miss it, but at the same time, enjoy walking and going up steps without pain and with a straight back vs bent. Hell, just getting out of a chair would sometimes be very painful until I was able to get past a certain point with my back. I literally had to start off crawling to loosen up sometimes. Best of luck coming out of retirement. Jordan did it, I'm sure you can too.2 points

Today we had a family day out in London to visit the DC Heroes - Art of the Brick. The models were so impressive, definitely worth a visit for those that are local. Here are a few snaps:2 points

I didn't know we could post our own projects too! So here goes.. I've had a project on the site for a little over a year that's gotten a bit of attention in its early months.. but since then it's slowly dying. Basically what it is is a playset designed for one of the iconic games that is on a semi-known online game where people can build games for others to play! I haven't seen many set-like actual PLAYSETS with functions and stuff submitted or make it onto LEGO Ideas so I thought I'd give it a shot. I'd appreciate any support! Even if you don't like the base subject I hope you like the designs of the model itself and the minifigures Link: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/77042 Thanks!1 point

When my closest KMART closed last year in the summer, there was ample choice at 40% and only Chima Speedorz left when they hit 50%. They also started tearing down all the shelving at that point. Luckily I had grabbed what I wanted at 40%.1 point

Who is your wife going to talk to? Boom! That will be a good one. I've been wanting to see Hall and Oates for a long time and they're in Columbus with Tears for Fears tonight. I can't make it, but I'm tempted.1 point
-
They've been doing that for about a year. Sometimes it's offered, sometimes not. It might just depend on what item/s you buy, or how the shipment is broken down.1 point
-
Yep. Missed on the original but after seeing the reviews on this one I'm really excited to see just how well this one works. Thanks again for the QAR.1 point

Oh, one more thing... to prove ownership, you should keep your receipts for tax purposes on investments, in the event you decide to do something in the future, like open a business, actually pay taxes on your investments (tongue in cheek), or something I can't even think of. But the best way to prove ownership is to regularly take video of your home and its items and keep the files online with a separate backup company like Carbonate. Again, talk to your insurance co to see what they require prior to assuming anything.1 point

I did an article on this exact subject and have used the Collectibles Insurance Company LLC for my own collection. It's very simple: 1. Input all of your sets into the Brickfolio 2. Use the Export option to send an Excel file email with your entire collection to the above company 3. Fill out their form 4. Get a quote 5. Pay the bill 6. You are covered. It cost me $500 to insure $100,000, with a yearly bump up in coverage. It covers most issues. My homeowner's insurance company(Prudential) did not want to work with me. I hope I never have to use it.1 point
