maybe he's just doing a public service by trying to mop up this endless lingering TRU-exclusive stock blocking these recently retired sets from enjoying the post EOL bump they so justly deserve. keep it up IronManDan!10 points

Hi Henry. According to The Crystal Ball Fiscal Times investment section the market forecast to reach that point is approximately by December 2024. Maybe. You need to: 1)stop buying any LEGO for investiments immediately 2) read this site a whole lot more 3) start tracking prices of retired sets on ebay (you're not able to sell LEGO on Amazon if you're not grandfathered in already 4) ignore the hype of any LEGO better than gold for investment viral internet articals that are the result of lazy e-journalists and gullible readers before you can realise that believing such a question is in any way tangeable to any known reality is the reason why LEGO investing is on a downward trajectory for most people that are not clued in, and also for many who are.8 points

I totally agree. I would pass on all of them. Well, maybe not the Ultra Agents stuff. edit: That's sarcasm. I don't wanna go to bed feeling guilty tonight from being told by a rookie he arm-swept all of the UA stuff.7 points

I stand corrected. I thought I had read that they "fixed" that, and only the amount on the cards came back as Rewards points. Good to know. My closest store only had a few things on shelf, and nothing was marked on the shelf. Of note, the 40% sale comes off STORE prices, so a lot of the Jurassic World stuff etc, is priced higher in store - you'll have to get a price match. 1 Ferrari and a couple of the City sets were totally box crushed. Remember new folks, buying is the easy part, selling is the hard part7 points

I'm much more excited about this TRU stuff than I am the WM clearance items. Plus, I don't have to leave my house.5 points

I was actually out of bed earlier, thinking I would get to work earlier today. Saw the sale, fired up the laptop, next thing I know I'm leaving the house a few minutes late. I haven't had time to get out and shop this week either.4 points

@scatttcatThis isn't true. I get rewards points for the full purchase price shown on the receipt, including the double points, as long as $1 goes on my TRU card. If nothing is put on a TRU card, you would still get the standard rewards points if paying in full or part with gift cards. One caveat is that you don't get double points the day you open your card and get the bonus 15%. You can only earn standard rewards points on that day. You can even get rewards points if you purchase from Toys R Us orders through eBay, Newegg, etc., with or without the TRU card. You just have to submit a missing points request for this with the invoice/order # shown on the packing slip once you receive the items.4 points

cleaned out of-the-way claremont nh Walmart which ******** identified as having a significant deposit of 50% off Star Wars LEGO and other sets I was interested in and in decent quantity. ended up being one of the rare times where the inventory at the store actually exceeded what was indicated online by 3-5 sets each. pro tip: it's nearly impossible for your wife or significant other to biy&h about your seemingly "out of control" lego purchases while skulking through the repetitive walk of shame from the garage to the storage room when her mouth is stuffed with fresh delicious pastry you brought into the house first. death stare is unaffected however.4 points

I'm holding til $100. If Delorean can do it why can't this? More hippies than geeks, right?3 points

As predicted, most of this stuff is already sold out online. Including HURRICANE HEIST. RIP Ultra Agents.3 points

This hits $75 and I'm selling. Enough juice to cover fees/ship and still double up.3 points

I only have a little room left below the stereo, and on this side of the Bicentennial glasses. Somewhere between the ashtray, and the thimbles. Somewhere in this three inches. Right in here, this area, that includes the Chiclets, but not the erasers.3 points

This is why I stopped going after clearance hauls like this. Too much discomfort, hassle, hit/miss in volume for 300/400$ in profit. The emotional wear of being the lying, jerk consumer is too much for me personally.3 points

This is a first, just got a call from a local Wal-Mart about some Junior Police Helicopters I ordered the other day for pick-up. They said they were out of stock, but would swap them out for the Juniors Batman vs. Mr. Freeze (10737) at the same price, if that was ok with me. I guess so...3 points

Opportunity cost and this might be your last opportunity. The prices are good too... It's nice watching some of these disappear from the website one-by-one.3 points

Sell the hat, pitch the rest and learn the lesson about buying from SGW. One of these days I'm going to start a blog here call "The Good(will), the Bad and the Ugly". Your story is definitely an "ugly" story.3 points

I'm thinking the Ferrari is a fantastic bet. I waffled a bit and decided not to buy. The Sith Infiltrator, not so sure, was just going to get one for collection, but it sold out and no stores have in stock near me. The Friends airplane looks like another great bet. But I waffled enough that I didn't buy.3 points

I know I shouldn't be resurrecting this thread, but I'm just too happy and need to post. As of this month, my collection of these marvel lego variant covers is complete. I believe I am the first person to ever have a confirmed complete collection of these. I have every single one that was released in both regular (1:25) and sketch (1:100) variants. Only the two at the top (Rocket Raccoon #1 and Marvel Universe: Avengers Assemble #1) never had sketch variants released.3 points

Target's Cartwheel App has a coupon for 10% off of Dimension Packs , good until 5/13. Should stack with the 40% off currently running in store. Plus 5% off with Red card for almost 50% off total.3 points

my walmart store pick up the other day consisted of two associates, nearly jumping over each other, to be excessively helpful. a few months ago it was waiting around for 20 min for someone who knew what store pickup was. I am guessing corporate is pushing hard on the customer service for online orders, in their battle against amazon.2 points

Everyone, please try to use the "My order Status" thread for order updates... Thanks and keep them coming, so we know what's delayed or OOS.2 points

I see many TRU online and eBay orders being cancelled since there was no time for employees to pull stock from the shelves for these orders.2 points

Why I dislike this set is because it set the benchmark so high that I fear I will be inevitably disappointed by 99% of LEGO's future products.2 points

Slowly catching up on my UCS collection. Bought this used, and took me 3 hours to build it. After building this, I really appreciate the improvements they made with the instructions on new sets. These earlier sets were very difficult to differentiate black and dark grey. I also made the mistake of building double identical wings instead of mirror images. Should have known this after building Tower Bridge. Nice looking set, but it is a bit dated. Lots of improvements can me made if they ever decide to reissue it.2 points

On Saturday I accidentally allowed my daughter to eat something that she was allergic to. Spent hours in urgent care fretting and worrying for her. She's ok now, but it felt like my own stupidity working against me. I had also been taking care of my parent's cats at their house while they were out of town. With everything that happened on Saturday, I didn't get over there to check on them. On Sunday when I arrived I discovered that I had closed the door of the room that had their food, water and litterboxes when I left on Friday. Yet another dummy thing. Today I dropped my kindle and fractured the screen making part of the touch screen nonfunctional. I'm tired of being my own worst enemy.2 points
