cleaned out of-the-way claremont nh Walmart which ******** identified as having a significant deposit of 50% off Star Wars LEGO and other sets I was interested in and in decent quantity. ended up being one of the rare times where the inventory at the store actually exceeded what was indicated online by 3-5 sets each. pro tip: it's nearly impossible for your wife or significant other to biy&h about your seemingly "out of control" lego purchases while skulking through the repetitive walk of shame from the garage to the storage room when her mouth is stuffed with fresh delicious pastry you brought into the house first. death stare is unaffected however.19 points

Slowly catching up on my UCS collection. Bought this used, and took me 3 hours to build it. After building this, I really appreciate the improvements they made with the instructions on new sets. These earlier sets were very difficult to differentiate black and dark grey. I also made the mistake of building double identical wings instead of mirror images. Should have known this after building Tower Bridge. Nice looking set, but it is a bit dated. Lots of improvements can me made if they ever decide to reissue it.10 points

My wife decided she wants to sort bricks so I spent $50 on a lot that looks like it has parts from at least: 3367 - Shuttle 6333 - Race & Chase 7586 - Belville Sunshine Home 9450 - Epic Dragon Battle 60022 - Cargo Terminal5 points

I know I shouldn't be resurrecting this thread, but I'm just too happy and need to post. As of this month, my collection of these marvel lego variant covers is complete. I believe I am the first person to ever have a confirmed complete collection of these. I have every single one that was released in both regular (1:25) and sketch (1:100) variants. Only the two at the top (Rocket Raccoon #1 and Marvel Universe: Avengers Assemble #1) never had sketch variants released.4 points

Who else fails miserably at trying to get their kids to keep their LEGO organized. We have a few Stack-On bins that we sort smaller parts into and when I make time I'll sit down with my boys and have them help me "sort". Love it when it gets done, but no sooner does it get done then my boys start building from the sort bins only. They make some cool stuff mind you, but it defeats the purpose of sorting to find parts for sets.4 points

Built this over the past few weeks for my kids to maybe possibly keep their minifigures better organized. And I mounted it just high enough that my son can't reach the top three rows yet. That way I can put the expensive ones up there. Ya know, the ones the wife says "you gave him what to play with? You could have sold that for $50! What were you thinking? "4 points

Target's Cartwheel App has a coupon for 10% off of Dimension Packs , good until 5/13. Should stack with the 40% off currently running in store. Plus 5% off with Red card for almost 50% off total.4 points

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-sears-shareholders-idUSKBN1862R2?il=0 Found this tidbit interesting/humorous considering how the SYW program gets used here. The company has not reported a profit for six years, which Lampert compared to Amazon.com Inc's (AMZN.O) early unprofitable growth. He predicted people will look back and wonder how they missed the Sears' turnaround, which he said would be driven by the Shop Your Way rewards program.4 points

I've been cleaning my home office throwing out old papers and came across these.. Too bad they weren't sealed, people buy them for like $20 for a 10 pack!4 points

Why I dislike this set is because it set the benchmark so high that I fear I will be inevitably disappointed by 99% of LEGO's future products.3 points

Its really kinda of a smart move. many companies have to go through years of work and round after round of VC funding to get an online company millions of users and billion dollar valuations. Lampert has a new take on it, buy a failing retailer and use it as a host for the parasitic online venture. Then once your online company is far enough along to run independently, just have the other companies declare bankruptcy and drop all that dead weight.3 points

Those carry home packs are worth saving; I just sold a handful.3 points

I never saw them as creepy, but I do question their obsession with "Usefulness". Were English children so incredibly useless that they needed this constant bashing about the head? Sesame Street at least mixes up the message every once in a while. "Be nice, don't talk to strangers, try new things" Thomas be like, " BE USEFULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" You guys are making me question the train table we bought for our 3 year old. Great to know it's a ticking time bomb of indifference.3 points

I mentioned a couple weeks ago batman lego sets 70901 and 70902 were $9.97 at costco, I went back today and swooped all of other 70905 now down to $29.97. YMMV I have 3 costcos in my area only the biggest one had these sets.(underneath large swing set display) On a side note everyone was asking about my cart stacked up high with legos I said "aren't you supposed to buy in bulk here?"3 points

I remember my son's first sets. He was a couple months shy of 3, and we had gotten him some Jake and the Neverland Duplo, and the first Batman Juniors set. He was far more interested in the Juniors set than the Duplo set. That thing has long since been added to the pile of parts, but that started him down the path. He put together the Obi Wan buildable himself last night, and is working on the IAC (he's 5 now).2 points

I got a 4x2 piece of MDF, painted it with black chalkboard paint. The ledges are Azec PVC house trim that had a nice flat profile on two sides, one to hold the minifigures and one to attach to the board. Attached them onto the MDF with finish nails and epoxy. Filled in the nail holes with PVC filler. Didnt paint the ledges because the PVC trim is a nice even white. Used "glue dots" to attach 2x sections of white lego plate. My ledges are 74 studs long. It won't hold all of their minifigures but at least the "complete" ones can be easily found.2 points

You're fighting for pennies unless you can find the harder to find ones on sale (you likely won't). Kids move on from Thomas so fast...2 points

My coupons have been lackluster lately. Am I missing something? Check e-mails, mobile push coupons, generic KMT coupon center, personalized SYW coupon center. Any place else? I have received enough $10 points back on $50 to sink a ship. That's all I get lately. If you need one let me know. Regardless I did just pick up a 75112 Grievous buildable for $6.20 with coupon and points, store pick-up.1 point

I actually just built it. I've previously built Obi-Wan (my first review on this site actually) and Grievous (a gift for me for Christmas). Grievous is understandably a much more impressive build. He looks darn near perfect. K2 has some nice parts. I like how tall he is. I kind of hope that they make IG-88 for this line.1 point
