  3. Not directly LEGO related, but in-store at Sears, their clearance men's shirts are all giving back 100% in points, plus bonus points. So if you need some clothes, and can find things you like, they're basically free.

  5. Madoca FJ40 Crawler with a few missing and substituted parts. Those technic # 3 connectors are hard to find. Claas Xerion tires totally kill all suspension travel but give the Jeep a monster truck look. Great build, highly recommended.

  8. Good point, retail games and I guess they will only release so many for early access, saving some for general sale on the 4th. This is the first UCS release I have been around for.

  23. Amazing that you could sell it for, what, about $350 each or so (trying to determine how you'd generate 90-100% return on a $160 buy-in)! I guess there are a lot of informed buyers out there. Never ceases to amaze me!!!!

  24. Extra layer of bubble wrap I believe should do the trick too. I try to achieve this on every order with bubble mailers just to give another layer of protection. It helps keep the weight just a smidge lower (maybe). I'll have to explore this card board method you speak of. I know I've read it previously, probably from a post from you too. Personally I've had people ship those smaller star war box sets in a bubble mailer. It came squished like someone stepped on it. The dude said my neighbor probably did it. (Sure) or you put things in a box like they should be he got into a hassle for 50 cents to a dollar savings on shipping. Bottom line, don't skimp on shipping and packing. Not worth it.

  25. It says on the cover "new Testament" but some of the pics were clearly old, which makes me question the theological legitimacy of the book/author.

  28. $19.37 price is now walmart's online price for Darth Vader 75111. amazon is price matching. limit 3 for nonbusiness accounts. this is almost the lowest price for this set - got down to $19.19 a few times during the holiday season. i was shocked last night when i was sneaking some of these in from the car and was caught by my wife but instead of the eye roll scold, she was like "Cool - when did this one come out - we should build it." huh? next thing she'll starting busting ruby tuesday salad bar rhymes. maybe kale instead-a.

  30. Any buyer that asks that many questions about a mixed/bulk lot I'm selling gets blocked. End of story. Bulk is bulk, do not buy based on what you think is there, pay only for what you actually see. And no, I am not the seller that started this whole fiasco off.

  32. Was at the church attached to my daughter's preschool and found "the minifigure bible.". Figured it was a huge compilation of minifigure photos, but it was an illustrated bible with minifigures. I'm not a big bible person, but it seemed super graphic.

  33. Sold a Racers Ferrari Enzo. Bought locally for £70 and spent £3 on missing parts and took some more flattering pics than original ad and thereafter sold for £170 with £1 FVF so cleared £90 for a 1 month hold. Was tempted to keep it but will quickly run out of space if I deviate from Star Wars UCS and modulars.

  40. Built this a week ago with my 6-year-old while my wife was out shopping. Went together pretty fast. Wanted a chess/checkers set that I could keep out to play with our kids and have the wife's aesthetics approval (she's not a huge AFOL) 6-year-old wanted to play that night but it was too late when we finished. Next day after getting home from work, noticed it had been played. My wife played checkers with her that day. Wife approved. Still sitting on the built-in shelves in the living room with all of the other stuff she likes to buy from her various home stores. I think this set will do well. I have my share of Pirate's Chess sitting waiting to sell someday. Many AFOL will like the themed sets, but there are those of us who are closet AFOL's, grown-up, married with kids, and will need something like this to pass the spouse gate.
