Before val-e and tabbyboy give their views, it's refreshing that there is a trhead where there is some optimism as opposed to the usual doom and gloom. :-)16 points

Get ready to laugh at me folks. Shipped x2 Bricklink orders. x1 Lewa $25 shipped (before price jumped. Now repriced my last one at $34) x1 Merlok's Library $29 shipped Get an email from the person with the Merlok stating that she received a Bionicle set instead, I assumed that I somehow switched the labels on the two similarly sized packages and immediately contacted the other buyer, thinking he would receive a Merlok Library. End result, sent return labels and shipped out a replacement Lewa to the buyer, for a total of $27 in shipping, plus refunded the person who ordered the Merlok because a replacement wouldn't arrive in time ($29). After talking to both buyers and resolving the issue to their satisfaction (both got CMFs, the lady who ordered the Merlok got $5.00 in store credit and a typed apology letter in the mail. Other guy was so thankful that I shipped his replacement PM so it would get to him in time for his sons birthday party he proclaimed I "earned a customer for life". I was pissed, as my stupid mistake cost me $60, but moved on. Today I received the return packages in the mail, and noticed something interesting. The Bionicle came back from the person who ORDERED the Bionicle, and I got a Merlok from the person who ORDERED the Merlok. What happened? I shipped the Merlok inside of a Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder set as it was the perfect size, wrapped in bubble wrap and brown paper to make sure it would stay secure. The lady I shipped it too didn't open the package all of the way to see the "open here" marking and the clearly resealed portion of the box, and legitimately assumed I sent her the wrong set. The other person, on my instructions, didn't open his package and simply shipped it back when he got the return label, even though he had it in his hands the whole time. In hindsight I should have asked him to open and confirm, and this whole mess could have been avoided. What did I learn? Don't ship in re-wrapped Lego boxes, no matter how obvious you make it. Let the ridiculing commence! ?10 points

With the exception of the few collectors who literally want a rehash 10196 because they personally missed out, this should please most. It protects the value of the old collectable, gives new collectors a piece to buy, and fits in nicely with the Ferris Wheel and Fairground Mixer. Appears to be a nice looking set. I'm in.9 points

Regardless of the impact of the old one, from what we see, this is the best case scenario for an update to a previous rare release.8 points

There, everyone wins! I like it, will definitely be buying one but also satisfied that they are not remaking everything they can 1:17 points

I've had instances where they were supposed to refund to my credit card and I'd miraculously receive a gift card in the mail a few weeks later.4 points

not to mention "I'm out of the business I'm finding more opportunities selling bike parts and buying cryptocurrency than trading Lego. But on the other hand I will definitely snag 300boxes of Eiffel during 3 for 2."4 points

Found another TRU that was willing to sell to me with the 15% off for friends and family. Took 2 seconds for manager to override it. Not sure what the first guy's problem was.4 points

Managed to snag myself a bargain due to the remake. Also in mint conditions as well as box and instructions in impeccable condition. No yellowing of bricks as well. Will still be getting the remake but may not necessarily be a day 1 purchase now.4 points

See people...LEGO doesn't hate us after all. Nice set and compliment to the Mixer and Ferris Wheel. The Grand Carousel is safe for another decade.3 points

I built 71042 Silent Mary last weekend. Cool build, looks great displayed. I personally would have rather had a regular ship w/ a solid hull, but it's still super cool. I ended up getting this down super cheap as well. I paid RRP at the Lego store, but nocked off some $$$ after selling bits of it. $29 VW Beetle Promo $50 Zombie Skeleton Sharks ($25 each) $20 Salazar $20 Jack Sparrow $20 Carina After fees and shipping, I'm at almost a $100 with 3 minifigures left for display. Not bad!3 points

I have nothing bad to say about it and am interested to know the RRP. Now, let´s address your opinion that 10244 Fairground Mixer is not überhoarded in the bubble thread!3 points

“Poor Old fool,” thought the well-dressed gentleman as he watched an old man fish in a puddle outside a pub. So he invited the old man inside for a drink. As they sipped their whiskeys, the gentleman thought he’d humor the old man and asked, “So how many have you caught today?” The old man replied, “You’re the eighth.”3 points

I bought this lot off of Craigslist. The seller listed the Lego truck and I emailed him to see what else he had. This is what he brought. 3 have instructions. He was asking $60 and I bought it for $40... Maybe 15-20 cents on the dollar which is higher than I like, but the sets are near complete and already built (separated). Like nearly every other seller I find on CL he "just sold a set last week... I think it was Green Grocer" lol. There's also a bag of 8 Toy Story figs ~$5-10 @. Lego truck is missing all sticker parts, but I have half of them in stock. About 10-12 parts missing total between the sets. Monster Fighters - Mummy Monster Fighters - Werewolf Monster Fighters - Vamp Hearse Monster Fighters - Crazy Scientist Lego Delivery Truck - needs $5-10 in parts Toy Story - Pizza Planet Creator Log Cabin3 points

I think it was a great story and appreciate that you shared it. Most people would never share a mishap like that, heck most people are afraid to even share their stores (which I honestly never really got). Anyhow, it was a tough lesson but a good one.3 points

I was once shipped a minifigure in a paper envelope. I only received an empty envelope with a torn corner. As much as I dislike the extra cost, I always do the minimum of bubble mailers (@2.61 or greater).3 points

Creative remakes are great - I would even be fine with them having a Carousel theme, or even an UCS Falcon theme (as long as they were innovative, focusing on new aspects of the subject matter, etc.). LEGO has the most creative minds readily available - For whatever reason, they have chosen to go the lazy route, way too often lately.2 points

They're these prices on the TRU website as well, plus an additional 15% off with code.2 points

Plain envelopes with a stamp don't come with tracking, so if anything happens, you're not protected. Granted, for $5.50 you won't be too bothered, but still ....2 points
