  1. The aircraft carrier my dad was on, the USS Hornet, recovered the capsule. He was there when they were training for it, but left the Navy in 1968, so he missed the actually recovery in 1969.

  2. Years ago (somewhere around 2001) I was playing Scattergories with my wife and some friends. The category was "cereal" and the letter was "M". I was denied my answer of "Mr. T Cereal" by the group because they hadn't heard of it. And we didn't have smart phones to easily look this crap up. Every once in awhile I send a group text to those friends with a random Mr T Cereal box pic. I haven't seen that one before. This is going out shortly.

  4. Finally got to finish my Batpod 5004590. Managed to get all new parts, some were spares, others from Lego and bricklink, the dark pearl grey shield pieces from a small stack of breaze flee machines I found in TRU. Thankfully I sold the spare pieces in groups of 6 to help bring down the price of the build. Think it came in around 40ish quid.

  9. Sleeping Beauty royal bedroom. My last one. Almost paid retail for it when I found it 6 months ago at a BAM. Sold for $29.99 on BL. Mine was the last one. I repeat, there are no more of these on sale at BL.

  13. Isn't Emazers from Baltimore? Nah...it can't be him. There are too many small to medium sized sets in that list that he wouldn't waste his time on. Also, the listing wasn't written in third person.

  15. Well, I've had my eye on this for awhile. Just bought the 21050 Architecture Studio for $91. Used up my eBay bucks and got the 8% back. I feel as someone who works in the industry, it never hurts to have the Architecture Studio around. Strictly for professional and working reasons of course.

Done with nether fortress. can't believe i'm buying these morro dragons. my first foray into the land of ninjago. most of the stuff has been unmarked which is why it has been so easy to load up. 3 more stores showing lots of stock i can hopefully get to first by tomorrow.

  24. Could be one of our fellow members bailing out... looks like a full liquidation sale. No way some of these have been sitting on eBay for just 20% more without someone gobbling them up. https://baltimore.craigslist.org/tag/6096568430.html I grabbed the following: 1 x 75098 Assault on Hoth 3 x 75149 Resistance X-wing Fighter 2 x 75095 Tie Fighter 1 x 75096 Sith Infiltrator 3 x 75046 Couruscant Police Gunship 5 x 75054 AT-AT 3 x 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer 3 x 10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter 6 x 75019 AT-TE 4 x 75021 Republic Gunship 3 x 9493 X-wing 1 x 10225 R2-D2 1 x 10227 B-wing Starfighter 2 x 7676 Republic Attack Gunship 2 x 10174 Imperial AT-ST 1 x 10175 Vader's TIE Advanced 1 x 10143 Death Star II 1 x 10123 Cloud City 1 x 10129 Rebel Snowspeeder 1 x 10134 Y-wing Attack Starfighter Would have asked for more but I stay strict to my "only play with house money" rule. Drained that pretty quick. I look to have been the first one to message but he said he had more people on the way when I met him there. Everything else is still available as of this posting.

  26. Was supposed to have happened in March, but I think it was delayed until just recently. Re: what to do... I'd contact the buyer right away. Tell him you just pulled the item from inventory and discovered the defect. Offer to (A) cancel the order for full refund, or (B) accept the item "as is" (include photos in your email). I had this happen with two buyers for two of the same item. One buyer was happy to accept, the other was happy to cancel. It will affect your "Pre-shipment cancellation" number, but if this is a rare occurrence, it shouldn't seriously affect you.

  27. I broke down and joined in on the Shop Your Way madness once again. My kids have actually been asking for a Star Scavenger, so it was a perfect excuse to get back into the points game 2x 75147 Star Scavengers for $45.76 after discounted gift cards, surprise points, and SYW points. I also got back $29.43 in SYW Points... (This is why we were short SHLD and SHOS in my fund back before the borrow rates got ridiculous. No way this company makes it.) Now I have to figure out what to do with my $30 in Rewards.

  31. I had $50 in TRU Rewards and couldn't help myself. 5x Crossbones and 1x Infernox Capture the Queen for $30. I wasn't going to get the Infernox, but with my rewards bringing the total down, I was going to have to pay for shipping. And for reference, it looks like Crossbones is C2C at SAH and OOS at WM and Target. Goodbye my friend...

  37. 4842 Hogwarts Castle and 4195 Queen Ann's Revenge for $150 each. Local Offerup deal. Both are used but complete with instructions. No boxes. Both are in immaculate condition. Seller was a younger college kid. I'm assuming he is selling off his collection to pay some bills. He says he has more to go through yet and that I'll be first in line once they are ready.

  38. Finally got around to build R2. Set was brand new in box, so I put it off for this long. Fun set to build, end result looks good. Some gripes I had were couple problems with instructions and at one point the colour tone they used changed suddenly. The small technic pin used in the leg area to prevent the feet from falling off is nearly impossible to put on. I had to connect one end to a flat piece and then transfer it in place. Front opening panels are rather tight and the left side comes apart too easily. I had difficulty positioning him properly with the third leg out. An improvement maybe to add some slopes to the head to make it look smoother. Besides these complaints, I like this set. It was larger than I expected and displays very well!
