4842 Hogwarts Castle and 4195 Queen Ann's Revenge for $150 each. Local Offerup deal. Both are used but complete with instructions. No boxes. Both are in immaculate condition. Seller was a younger college kid. I'm assuming he is selling off his collection to pay some bills. He says he has more to go through yet and that I'll be first in line once they are ready.9 points

Recent FBA sales: 3x 41058 HeartLake Shopping Mall - $163 (Buy-in $57 after tax). Unfortunately got one returned with return reason "Shipping Address Undeliverable" - that's $14 down the drain in return fees, so I guess I'll have to raise my price on that one. 5x 70753 Ninjago Lava Falls - $24 (Buy-in $6 after tax) 2x 75893 Scooby Doo Haunted Lighthouse - $83 (to the same buyer, Buy-in $22 after tax) 2x 41038 Jungle Rescue Base - $79 (Buy-in $32 after tax) and the kicker, the set I mentioned in my blog article as "my mistake" as I bought it for 60% off at Target 1.5 years ago and it just wouldn't retire: 1x 31033 Vehicle Transport - $38 (Buy-in $11 after tax)7 points

Yes these won't ship. Just spoke to Walmart after they CANCELED my legit order of Ferries FROM Walmart. I Asked about the prices from Myquickmart. She just laughed. "Umm yeah that doesn't seem right". Walmart what a Clusterf**k!! "We don't have the items we are selling, and the ones we are selling aren't legit" Good Times!4 points

Could be one of our fellow members bailing out... looks like a full liquidation sale. No way some of these have been sitting on eBay for just 20% more without someone gobbling them up. https://baltimore.craigslist.org/tag/6096568430.html I grabbed the following: 1 x 75098 Assault on Hoth 3 x 75149 Resistance X-wing Fighter 2 x 75095 Tie Fighter 1 x 75096 Sith Infiltrator 3 x 75046 Couruscant Police Gunship 5 x 75054 AT-AT 3 x 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer 3 x 10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter 6 x 75019 AT-TE 4 x 75021 Republic Gunship 3 x 9493 X-wing 1 x 10225 R2-D2 1 x 10227 B-wing Starfighter 2 x 7676 Republic Attack Gunship 2 x 10174 Imperial AT-ST 1 x 10175 Vader's TIE Advanced 1 x 10143 Death Star II 1 x 10123 Cloud City 1 x 10129 Rebel Snowspeeder 1 x 10134 Y-wing Attack Starfighter Would have asked for more but I stay strict to my "only play with house money" rule. Drained that pretty quick. I look to have been the first one to message but he said he had more people on the way when I met him there. Everything else is still available as of this posting.3 points

I love how new buyers on BL/BO think that USPS/UPS/FedEx ship things out of the goodness of their own hearts and not for profit. I get responses like shipping is 40% of the cost of this $20 set, well new buyer shipping costs aren't based on product cost. Would you have even been allowed to pay the duties (tee-hee) if you had wanted? Dear buyer, just because you don't understand how the world works, it's not @Phil B's fault.3 points

To trade for Lego? Seems like a pretty good deal. Edit: If the dogs are wearing the underwear I think you should jump on that deal.3 points

As previously mentioned, I can confirm that it has an interior and I have seen pics of it that someone who is certified master builder had on their phone. Hence, not a complete remake and thus I don't think the values will be significantly impacted. Hoping to pick one up at a discount at a later date. There will be a haircut, but I doubt it will be similar to those that we saw with 10188.3 points

If those are Lego employees speculating then it will actually have no interior and cost 849.99.3 points

So...uh...You guys made me go check out Letgo and I end up finding someone who sneaks his "tip" into each listing. I'm not sure what more the internet can offer today.2 points

Light bricks for the engines would sell me. To me, the Falcon's stern (back) was always the sexiest part of the ship.2 points

Here's my 15% off weekly coupon. Might want to stop mentioning the use of unnamed affiliates, because it makes it sound like you're ripping off BrickPicker every day.2 points
-
Exactly what I get weekly. I was lucky to get some $20 back on $30 coupons this week, which combined with my $100+ in points from Raise and a few $15/75 generously given to me by @Lordoflego made for some incredible bargains. I was getting 3 elves goblin dragons plus a filler set for $31-33 with $20 back in points, which I then used to get a bunch of new friends sets and some Star Wars with a retail of $170 for $19.50 TOTAL. Waiting for my next points infusion from that unnamed affiliate to restart the gravy train. Its been a good week for my profit margins, plus a few cheap sets to build2 points

You gotta take the good (LEGO time machine) with the bad (hunting dogs wearing oversized used lingerie).2 points

So is mine, other than the items that I have listed. The same person had a UCS slave one for $75 listed a couple of weeks ago. I just missed out on it, but I told him to let me know if he has any more in the future. He sent me the message last night about these two sets. I was in the right place at the right time. You need to check often otherwise you can miss the good deals.2 points

I won a 4842 in a Goodwill auction a few years ago. It also had Diagon Alley. I got both for $200 (plus some other sets). I enjoyed building 4842 but was happy to flip it for $200. It paid for everything else (which I also eventually sold or will be listing soon). I was never a big LEGO boat guy until I built QAR. I fell in love. It's an awesome ship and I don't know if I'll ever part with it.2 points
-
Hogwarts I'll probably flip right away. I've had three or four of these now and they always sell quickly. The QAR I'll probably hold onto for a little while before I eventually sell it. This is the first one I've had. I'm looking forward to both builds.2 points

Couple of tips: 1. Use Brickstock to create a list of everything you need 2. Upload this list as a Wanted List in BL (and in BO if you like) 3. Use the Buy feature on your wanted list to see who has what in stock 4. Then auto-match as much as possible. BO includes shipping costs in the calculation, and has a slightly better/more intuitive interface, though BL has come a long way. 5. Finally, tweak and fine-tune. BO automatically adjusts quantities as you add more sellers to give you the best price across all selected sellers. For BL you would need to check each store's shipping terms to determine shipping costs and balance out accordingly. BL does have the benefit that they give you an idea of how much the cost deviates from the 6 month average - which helps in making informed decisions. Final tip: Brickstock puts a "Max price" tag in the exported data - you might want to remove all those tags as it could limit the sellers you get (or you use the CTRL-A G functionality in Brickstock to populate this field with the maximum current price, that should work too.1 point

minor correction "Returns not accepted simply doesnt work on ebay and we all know that. You can always TRY TO protect yourself somehow by adding in T&C of your listing. Returns Accepted. 20% fee for relisting and restocking item applicable with this purchase." I offer the same "30 day / 20% restocking / buyer pays returned postage / item must arrived back to me in the exact condition as shipped" refund terms but when buyers use the "arrived not as described", my T&C is pretty much thrown out. however, at least it doesn't make some buyers think twice about before using that loophole. --------------------------------------- i don't want to too much off-topic but going back to how where got here in the first place. People with 10179 buyer's remorse for whatever reason exist but this can happen with any set. 10188 was the last well-know example. nice thing was I sold of all my 10188s w/o a single eBay return because it was priced accordingly despite the replacement due 1-2 months from my last batch of sold dates.1 point

LEGO is a toy company, who benefit from their toys being collectible, but in the end want to sell toys. Yes, they are re-releasing some "classics", but only those which they think will have immediate, broad appeal and will sell past their production targets. I doubt they will start re-releasing more obscure sets as mentioned before. SW is hot right now, and unless LEGO has a commitment to resellers (which they don't) they would be stupid not to cash in and release a flagship set based on the flagship of the franchise. I often get the impression many of us here think LEGO is making short-sighted decisions, but I don't think they do. They have obviously factored all aspects of their appeal (both to kids and adults) into their product development, plus they are obviously aware of their status as a collectible product, and have many examples from other brands to look at and learn from. If LEGO thinks the time is right to make another MF UCS, I bet they have data to support it will sell well (compared with their targets). The "old" MF UCS will still have value, after all, it was the holy grail for so long, and if you collect you need that one. There might be a small bubble popping for those who bought at $2-$3k with the intent to resell, but for those who bought at retail there remains a nice amount of profit (granted, smeared out over many years) to be had. And if anything, the next holy grail is already out there, be it Taj Mahal, Grand Caroussel (though rumors on its replacement are also swirling), Green Grocer, etc. The thing is, the more people sour on investing in the larger sets (which is what I sense is happening right now), the more likely it is that in 5 years from now one of the currently retiring sets is the next UCS MF. Especially if TLG has to downsize their portfolio since the whole TLM surge in popularity is by now gone - some sets just won't be made again for a long time. Net, this is not the end of the road, just another inevitable change in the marketplace. Adapt or else ....1 point
