  1. You have achieved broken record status. "Hey everyone, I am done, game over, no more investing for me, I'm not buying. Guess what, i am done, I sold everything, blah blah blah." I love your knowledge of lego reselling, but lets get passed the "TabbyBoy is Over and Out" routine for a bit ok?

One Kmart, one and only with those sets in the area Picked up 20 more this morning plus 5 ninjago boulder blasters. going back for another 20-30 (to the same store) later this afternoon. @MinifigW, I was also worried that buyer may change his mind but just came back from ups store where I shipped first 29 sets to him great weekend

  8. Not quite as successful as @Lordoflego, but had some Kmart fun today myself. I started with a store pickup that included both LEGO and some household items that earned me $27 in points, then did 3 separate store transactions with a variety of combinations of expiring sweeps points, base SYW points, coupons, and surprise points. Ended up walking away with: 2 x 60147 Fishing Boat (store pickup of online sale price), 1x 60067 Helicopter Pursuit (Clearance), 41073 Naida's Adventure Ship, 76022 X-Men vs the Sentinel (Clearance), 70801 LEGO Movie Melting Room (Clearance), and 40202 Easter Chick, all for $72 out of pocket with some base SYW points to spare. Not bad for a total MSRP of $185 and mostly retired sets. Fun!

  9. Wait for Amazon to price match the BOGO against current prices and then go nuts. I hope any good BrickPicker will click on our links and do the same.

  10. My pocketbook hurts after my last two purchases: 75137 Carbon Freezing Chamber - $0.00 (ok, $15.58 before tax and SYW rewards points) 41118 Heartlake Supermarket - $0.29 (ok, $19.29 before tax and Meijer Rewards) My current KMart points streak is still going strong, but as of now I have purchased $461 of LEGO (MSRP) for $177 plus $15 in points earned thru Fandango (all other points are internally generated in the system by playing Sweeps and using points back coupons - an average of 62% off of MSRP. All small sets, a total of 21 sets, most of it 2017 releases. This is just the last month (since beginning of March). Love that store

  14. I'd go Krennics Shuttle, to be honest. I thought the U-wing was going to be a great ship, and while it's not bad, the transport aspect of the U-wing is so small that you can barely fit bistan in there. Krennic's shuttle on the other hand is one of the best new designs of a Star Wars ship of the last two films. The minifigures are also really good in that one.

  19. My daughter finally finished up the Republic Gunship after a long hiatus due to Spring busyness. She left the stickers off (which is a first) bc we are planning on selling this one at some point, but my son and daughter really like this one. Lots of playability and a sturdy build, and it usually ends up being loaded with about 6 extra mini figures and an occasional Friends mini-doll. Pretty sure they also added the large 'rock shooter' missile from Coles Tread Assault 9444 to it to give it more firepower after we took the pics as well. Ha!

  21. Hey Brickpickers, I'm still deployed, but at least getting closer to my return back to the U.S. this summer. My oldest son sent me a news article a couple days ago, and I found it very interesting. Apparently my current hometown, Columbus, Georgia (home of exotic Fort Benning) is getting a Bricks & Minifigs LEGO store. I was not familiar with this particular franchise until I read the article. After a cursory amount of research, I've learned they have approximately 30 retail locations in U.S. and Canada. The official website describes their mission statement as: Bricks & Minifigs® is your one-stop LEGO® shop! We are the largest toy store of our kind, specializing in only new and used LEGO® items. We buy and trade all things LEGO®, from tubs of bulk to storage unit sized collections. If it’s LEGO®, we’ll take it!! Enjoy our selection of individual minifigs, bulk bricks, components and accessories. With the largest assortment of new, used and retired sets we keep your collection growing! https://bricksandminifigs.com/ Couple of questions. #1 Has anyone actually shopped at one of these retail stores? How are the selection and prices? I've read online that they set their retail prices in line with mid-range Bricklink offerings. #2 Has anyone sold any product to one of these stores? What sort of offers for your LEGO did you receive? Chris

  22. Whoa about 60-70 Titanium Dragons in 1 store. Sometimes luck beats hard work
    2 points
  23. Yep...The secondary market as a whole will be affected if the main collectible sets are being re-issued, but the UCS STAR WARS sets will take a huge hit. The UCS theme will never be the same. It's a trickle down effect. People have been given plenty of opportunities to sell their 10179s, but the theme will lose its status as the top of the LEGO food chain if the new version is the same or better than the original. The new version will never appreciate anywhere close to the 10179. There will be some quick flip money to be made with early shortages, but unless it is uber-expensive or a short production run, you are better off looking to non-STAR WARS sets. The knockoffs don't help either...

  24. Firstly, Chris - thank you for your service to the country. As far as Bricks & Minifigs is concerned, there is one close to me in Louisville, KY but I gotta admit after visiting 4 or 5 times I'm not sure I'll ever go back because almost everything is painfully overpriced compared to BrickLink or even Lego.com. (I'm talking $5 minifigs going for $15 or current retail sets with prices even higher than the TRU standard markup. I love the idea of the store and want to support a local business like this, but I'm guessing that they are able to get away with the prices they do because we don't have an official Lego store nearby or people just don't feel like shopping around on Amazon or Lego.com. Regardless, I think it's a great idea for a franchise and I hope - if you consider moving forward with it - that you'll find a way to keep prices respectable for us AFOL's and our young families.

  25. Somewhere out there, there is a very sad soul, who purchased every single 10179 that they could find. To those who would say "I'm happy, I don't have any, so It's a great thing for me" - No, it's not a great thing for anyone. The total valuation loss of the held 10179's will pale in comparison to the overall loss of set values (and potential values) in general.

  28. That's what I did today, of course first thing the cashier did when I showed her $15 off $75 coupon is read the fine print and said that it doesn't include clearance items (I was buying half off titanium dragons). I asked her to try to scan it which she did....and it worked left the store with 19 of them, got home ordered more on line so I don't have to deal with a cashier that will possibly refuse to even scan it after reading fine print. Picking up more tomorrow

  38. was in Vienna today so I went to Lego shop see if they had left anything since January sales, found nothing but I bought Silent Mary after realizing it is 3x VIP time (200€ retail + 30€ in points + mini beetle promo, the set is 220€ in CZE), I thought it was not that bad price so I later went to the other Lego shop there and bought another one ?

  39. Picked up my first ever Friends set to get the free Krypto giveaway just now. None of the Super hero girls sets were on sale but the Friends Hot dog truck was on sale for just above the $30 I needed to qualify, and I figured this would look cool in my regular lego city with regular lego figures. I went to the store specifically for the polybag. Also came out with 2 transformers on for 50%, a black series first order Tie pilot for $15 (they had one first order tie fighter for $95 but I already got them cheaper), the Rogue One blu-ray, and the galactic heroes han and luke in stormtrooper gear. That freebie cost me around $150. This is worse than when I go to Costco.

  42. After hearing about the news of the new pirates of the Caribbean ship, I got hooked on lego boats. Already contemplating buying the imperial flagship, but wanted to try a small "boat" set before committing alot of money. I already bought some of these sets as got for about 60% off. Previously I thought the set was so ridiculous (in a good sense) that it made it work, but after building I love the set even more. It such a great build, it's one of those sets that you really need to build to fully appreciate it as pictures don't do it justice. I know that I won't be the only AFOL after this sets retires that will want to add it to his collection, it's sort of seacow junior. I personally feel that when this retires most people will regret not picking it up. I dont expect it to do amazing, however it can be bought easily for 50-60% off in UK. I have no doubt that this set will be one of the few angry bird sets that will get back to RRP in no time. It also a pretty high probability of never being re-made, not heavily stockpiled (compared to other sets...).

  43. I changed it to 2017 a couple weeks ago. I think when I did that, it still said 2015? Can't remember for sure, but it had to have been changed a couple of times.

  45. http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-ideas-teases-more-of-apollo-11-saturn-v-rocket/ \ LEGO has teased another image from the LEGO Ideas Apollo 11 Saturn-V Rocket set but this time it is the Apollo Lunar Module sitting in the background. Last week, part of the Saturn-V Rocket was shown off so it looks like LEGO is staying true to the project and including everything so far that was proposed. The LEGO Ideas Apollo 11 Saturn-V Rocket will be landing soon in June.
