  1. Greatest Lego set ever? Just sold one of my last few of these today, and I gotta say, no matter what the price, I feel like I'm going to regret selling them. I've only been in this game for about 3 years now, but still... I don't think any other set produced in the past 4 years compares to this one. It is nearly perfect in every way. It has great minifigs. It is an impressive, sturdy build. It looks great from all sides. It opens up for great play features, or alternate display. It is in and of itself complete. Sure it's part of a larger collection, but even standing alone, it doesn't really need anything else. Even at the current $375 - $390, it is a great value for the collector. If you don't have one yet, you really should get one. It is really one of the greatest Lego sets - maybe the greatest ever?

  2. Via Brickset: The seventeenth series of Collectable Minifigures will be released on the 1st of May and images of the complete set and the box have been revealed today. The official names of the minifigures have also been announced. They are the Battle Dwarf, the Veterinarian, the Circus Strong Man, the Corn Cob Guy, the Elf Girl, the Hot Dog Man, the Gourmet Chef, the Connoisseur, the Rocket Boy, the Retro Spaceman, the Roman Gladiator, the Professional Surfer, the Dance Instructor, the Butterfly Girl and the Yuppie. The final minifigure remains under wraps but is identifiable based on its silhouette alone.

  3. Yesterday I actually went to a Kmart and had a bit of a fail experience. I did well, but had both kids with me and forgot to log out and use generic coupons for my last couple transactions...I'm still learning. But I bought: 5x Titanium Dragons @ $16 each 9x Mask Maker vs Skull Warriors @ $12 each 3x Mystery Machines @ $15 each (used $35 in points to lower my buy-in) Now that my head is clear I need to place pickup orders for the 8x FO Snowspeeders with coupons, but those should come out to ~$16 each after tax

  4. Just finished building this set. Bought it today mainly for the free beetle. Build was okay I guess, nothing special. My favourite part was how the front windows snapped in. Had quite a few spare parts, so hopefully I didn'tmiss something. It costs $100cad, which in my opinion is overpriced for this small set.

  7. Picked this up day 1 and finally got around to finishing it. Gotta say i was all for this set at first with the idea that i'd put it with the rest of my ship fleet. However i found that it looks way too small and puny next to even the Black Pearl. The lack of sails really takes away from it's display value in a fleet imo. For $250 CAD i feel like it should at least look a bit more imposing than QAR/BP. The scale issues sort of bothers me, like the small doors on the deck that can't fit minifigures, and of course the small canons. And then we have this big bell on the deck that is minifig scale.. just makes it all seem jumbled. Even though i don't play with my sets; the lack of a captains quarters was disappointing. However on it's own like i have displayed below... i think it's actually really nice. It's fun to play around with the sails/masts and really give it a "ghost" look. Build was pretty fun, both sides of the ship were fairly different and not symmetrical. Bottom line: i like it, but only displayed on it's own away from the other ships.

  13. I know, I never actually count earned points in my total. That was purely for demonstration purposes. My total cost per set (not including the storage unit) was $8.60. The cash back and points earned not included. I will have a combined $65.95 returned to me in the form of cash back and points, which will be used to get a discount on a future purchase. The cash back is from the usual site, I didn't mention it for fear of having my post removed by a mod.

  19. This is the only set that I've ever cracked and dipped into my supply to build. We opened one up a few years back to build for Halloween, and I can't argue with any of your observations. It truly is a beautiful set in every way. Putting it together and displaying it until November has become one of our family traditions every fall. I have thirteen left to sell down the road, and I'm in no hurry to move them. If any set can eventually get to $1k again in this day and age of LEGO reselling, this is it.

  21. TLBM Riddler/Joker Copack $45 on BL to Italy $22 buy in. Shipping was another $35 on top. Btw with my sales over the last couple weeks I have moved me into the black overall by about $200, since starting this adventure last year. Have about $2.5k to $3k worth of sets in stock. There's a slightly less murderous look in my wife's eyes after the news. Jk, she's a good sport about my new obsession.

  36. New sellers and those with inactive accounts who become active again will now how to provide id verification (utility bills, state id etc), business license documentation for their state (including registering to collect sales tax) , and invoices for the items they have listed. This will curb the just launched scammers as well old accounts that are getting hacked by the thousands. Speaking of which if you haven't done so already I would advise anyone selling on the platform to setup two step verification for your account. Once done you will need your password as well as a pin number sent to your phone to log into your account. You can choose to disable this on machines that only you have access to (such as your home computer or cell phone). We have this in place on all of our amazon selling accounts and the number of pins coming thru that we did not request every week is a real eye opener to just how bad the attempted hacking of amazon selling accounts has become.
