  1. I don't want to be a **** here, but please don't encourage this behavior. These people have zero intention of filling your order. We have 2 schools of thought on what they are doing: A.The popular belief on the Amazon Seller Forums is that these guys get enough orders that they clear some of the cash out and the rest is returned via A to Z (which is why they usually have every item priced at 9.00 or 13.00 or something dumb like that. They are able to do this because they are from other countries and have longer delivery times before people figure it out. They can set up fake "from" locations now, but the delivery times are still 1 month+ and B.The other thought is that they are doing something with your information as BA explained. The problem with both scenarios is it ties up your resources, encourages this behavior again, ties up Amazon's resources and, most importantly, makes it harder to sell on Amazon for us sellers. These guys just keep coming back again and again and again and it never ends. They are clearly getting something out of it or they wouldn't keep doing it. It also raises fees for everyone and is just a bad idea. Please don't help these guys. You are not going to get these products under any circumstances.

  3. The set has been built for a while but we had an acrylic case (no bottom) made for it and the Tower Bridge. I know the plastic is still on... leaving it until it finds a home in our LEGO room. If anyone is curious, it's 1/8" acrylic made locally to my exact measurements. Big Ben's was just $50 and TB was $70 and they made them in three days after I paid. (Canadian funds so around $2 US )

  6. I think it's utterly ridiculous that sets of this caliber have stickers while Juniors and Ideas have printed pieces. You want the 50th iteration of Police Station to have stickers? Fine. But several hundred dollar sets should come with some semblance of an enhanced product, even if it does cost them a little more. I've ranted about this every time one of these comes out so I don't expect Lego to change but it's frustrating.

  8. Vote this bad boy in: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/165581 Please! ? My fifth attempt on building the best modular building I could. This time, a corner building, with a huge diagonal façade, and two very easily differentiated buildings: one royal blue and aqua with 1x1 tiles sticked on the wall and the other white, royal blue and teal. You can probably see this, but this was done in the purpose of it being hyper-ultra-mega colorful. Crafted with 2994 bricks, and includes 5 minifigures. I'm pretty sure it would stand about 30-32cm tall (12-12'5 inches). Some more images: Close up of white/teal façade. Notice the nice tree, and sculpture design on top of the building. The other façade. Beautiful gradient upwards! My whole collection. Kinda shocking how earthy the ones on the right look, and how happy the ones on the left look! Hope to see you sometime soon on my project's comment section and supporter list! ?

  9. 10% for Gold VIPs. Mobile site has a $15 off $75 coupon now to replace the $10 off $50. Stacks with $10 back on $50 which are personalized but plentiful. Get the TLBM Batcave for $67 with $17 back in points this way (as the 10%/15% VIP Bonus Days offer applies as well).

  10. Yes, use BrickStock (brickstock.patrickbrans.com). Once installed, press Ctrl-I I (i, not L) then click on the magnifying glass icon, type in the set code including the "-1" suffix and press OK. Once loaded, do Ctrl-A to select all pieces, Ctrl-G to download prices (defaults to average 6 month). Then use column sorting to get what you need.

  13. Went to TRU b&m looking for Porsche speed champions set. Didn't find any but TRU had the Ford Raptor / Hot Rod set for 50% off ($24.99) instead. Don't know if this is unique to my store or a national sale.

  17. 70902 Catwoman Catcycle Chase and 76070 Mighty Micros: Wonder Woman vs. Doomsday PM'd Amazon to $17 for Catcycle. Then used my $25 in expiring reward to get it down to $4 or so after tax. At that point it doesn't even matter, lol. They're going to my daughter, probably for Easter.

  24. My son was sick today (though not too badly) so in between work calls we built the Imperial Assault Hovertank 75152 together. He has a few Lego sets that he got as presents that he has been waiting to build with no sisterly help, so today was a perfect day for it in his mind. Not a great set from my point of view, but nice playability for him and decent minifigs.

  26. Try it via Sears.com or SYW.com. You might have an "invisible" coupon stuck in your cart - happens regularly at KMart. You can check under "View Applied Coupons" to see if there's something mentioned there, and then remove whatever shows, but there are coupons that don't show and still apply and cause this issue. Better discussed in the KMart/SYW Rewards thread though than here in DD.

  27. Local clearance of 50% or more is pretty much a given. and likely to see 40% off online here and there. but it really all depends on how long LEGO wants to milk the batman movie.

  36. this seller rtalley has been discussed in the amazon sales thread. they are undercutting a large swath of the amazon LEGO market at the moment. popcorn is in the oil on the stove. maybe someone bailing on the lego investing gig quickly? stuff moves on amazon if you just price it $1 under the lowest price. they didn't have to undercut by 20% which is quite dubious as to their true intent of pleasing an amazon customer or e-picking their pocket with the ol' i sent an empty envelope to a community golf course in your zip code trick. they also have BTTF Deloreans under $100. they were getting back up to $140 before they came along. probably best to move discussion of this unfolding episode somewhere else than daily deals thread. here is where there is already a discussion underway in terms of the undercutting of the sales. my order status would be a good place for any willing to be scammed of their money and time folk to report the outcome of their improbably priced purchases.

  40. Stickers reduce the appeal of used sets. As a collector if you want a retired set are you going to buy one second hand with badly applied, possibly peeling or faded stickers or are you going to buy one BNIB to be on the safe side?

  44. Well, the problem with minifigure collecting / selling has always been that most people want the same minifigures. There's of course people who collect every figure. But I think we are currently at a point where there's just too many out there to get them all. So most people end up getting the ones they like best. Suit guys are very popular and most are selling for prices way above the average price of their series. One that seems to be often overlooked is Panda Guy from the Lego Movie series. Another that is sure to go up in price in my opinion is Piggy Guy: And another one that is often overlooked is Unicorn Girl. Then there's figures that are sort of half suit guys like Gingerbread Man and some of the monster figures like Tiger Woman. Other ones are the Clockwork Robots and Lady Liberty. Another very popular unofficial category, which I personally like is the warriors. It's kinda broad and vague, but you'll notice that a lot of the warrior figures like knights and soldiers are very expensive. This has to do with the fact that they often come with unique helmets, armor and weapons and they are also often used in historical MOCs. A good example is Roman Soldier. So I think looking at that, something like the Flying Warrior, Frightening Knight and Classic King might do well. Castle MOCs are very popular and Greek / Roman stuff is sought after because Lego has never really done any Greek / Roman themed sets (they should!).

  45. If I get their credit card, will TRU promise to send me the items I order, and not just any items of roughly the same physical dimensions? 'Cause 30% off toys chosen at random by TRU staff just isn't that exciting.

  46. Depends the specific piece, but as a general rule of thumb, the colours with the highest demand are sand green, white, black, light and dark bluish grey. Then there's a second tier with trans-clear, tan, yellow, and some others. That's at least how I have it in my head. That said there are some very expensive pieces in other colors (like the roof of that Superman car in the SDCC set which is green).

  47. Now that I've had some time to wash/sort/identify, here are the sets I have compiled. All are in the 95% complete range (no manuals with the lot) w/ a few pieces missing here and there with the exception of #3368 Space Center is only 75% complete. Batman I: 7785 Arkham Asylum (w/ minis) 7779 Batman Dragster: Catwoman Pursuit (w/ minis) Monster Fighters: 9468 Vampyre Castle (w/ minis) 9461 The Swamp Creature (w/ minis) 9463 The Werewolf (w/ minis) Alien Conquest: 7050 Alien Defender (w/ minis) 7052 UFO Abduction (w/ minis) 7049 Alien Striker (w/ minis) Galaxy Squad: 70707 CLS-89 Eradicator Mech (w/ minis) Lone Ranger: 79107 Comanche Camp (w/ minis) 79108 Stagecoach Escape (w/ minis) 79110 Silver Mine Shootout (w/ minis) 79111 Missing over half of the set and 1 mini 30261 Tonto's Campfire poly City: Space Port 3368 Space Center (w/ minis) 3367 Space Shuttle (missing one mini) Ninjago: 9448 Samurai Mech (w/ minis) Star Wars: 7930 Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship (w/ minis) Marvel Super Heroes: 6865 Captain America's Avenging Cycle (w/ minis) 6873 Spider-Mans Doc Ock Ambush (w/ minis) There were a few other Chima/Ninjago/Minecraft sets that I could not identify or were not worth bothering to complete the set. I will just absorb those as parts and sell the minis. I feel this was a pretty good buy for my first "used" lot from CL for $100. The lot was 18lbs of bricks and had 60 minis separated.
