  1. I thought I'd build my Lego Pirate Ships in anticipation of the Silent Mary coming out. I started buying one pair of the Black Pearl and Queen Anne, then another, etc.

  2. haters gonna hate and potatoes gonna potate... interesting details, no parts count information on the box and size is about standard big box known from Ewok Village or Most Modulars but is significantly heavier than those two mentioned. Love the Quality of the Print and overall box presentation. can't wait to build this one today's evening.

  3. I've never posted before but been on brickpicker for several years. I'm an ebay buyer not a seller. Had to comment because I purchased two of the sdcc boxes -- the batmobile and rocket raccoon. My sister who lives at the same address won one on ebay as well. It's definitely fraud. Tracking showed it was delivered but we didn't receive them. Just got back from post office and they were delivered to two different addresses both within our zip code. We've both filed claims with ebay. Ebay told me they would send me some ii-something forms that would be sent to the FBI. Hope they prosecute the guy.

  5. I live in KY so we had Hills obviously. 74.97 was the price tag. PPP for lego is pretty consistent if not cheaper now. I took immaculate care of my stuff when I was kid. From Lego boxes, to Nintendo boxes, to really anything I wanted it pristine and mint. I remember having the people at Electronics Boutique bring all the boxes for a game out and letting me choose the best box. Thank God something appreciated as my Star Trek collection, baseball cards and beanie babies are worthless. Again, apologize if off topic but found another box of stuff. PPP was unbelievably high. Some boxes are 7.47 for 50 total pieces. Forgot how expensive lego was back then. And Legos NEVER went on sale either. I had to mow a lot of lawns to buy this stuff. Random note: Finally hit 100 posts. Should have had the Barracuda been my 100th.

  8. What a terrible time to have to pay attention to a problem at work. I gave the coupon away to the first person (BrickLegacy), but I'm not really buying Lego from Kmart for the next month so I'll keep an eye out for other $20 coupons, if I get any.

  9. as of now nothing but I am sure it is tracked. There is a return reason for "item does not seem authentic". I don't get those on my one account but have had a few on my jewelry account. As long as a case is refunded on your end ebay does not care. It is all about keeping customer happy. Like I said though I am sure it is tracked behind the scenes and if enough came over something would be done. If you get 2 counterfeit vero's in a year it is a 7 day listing suspension. Think 3 is 30 day and 4 indefinite (lifetime) ban. Had that happen about 4 years ago. They use the BS that you are not an authorized seller so it has to be fake. I just never list anything I've ever been vero'd for again.

  10. Not sure if I'm missing something here... I've read this thread over a few times... I see a lot of reports about scammers getting their product for free, but the sellers - for the most part - have been protected by eBay / Paypal. Sure there were a couple posts about sellers "getting scammed out of" an expensive set, but the posters didn't elaborate much on who paid the bill. And yes, some have posted that it took a couple phone calls, and " an hour" of their precious time to get their money back from Paypal... my violin plays for you. But until you've been ripped off selling on Amazon (like I have), most of your stories look like a "win" to me. Sure we love our precious Lego sets, and hate it when a scammer gets them for free, but it hurts a lot less when Paypal pays the bill. I sold 18 valuable sets (over US$100) on Amazon during the holiday season, and was scammed on 2 of them. That percentage loss is way to high for me. Amazon took my money, sided with the buyers, and ruined my selling metrics, despite my following every rule in Amazon's book. After much effort, I was able to (arbitrarily) get one of them reversed, but still lost the other. And by "reversed" I mean I got my money back, but am still carrying the black mark on my metrics. Since then I've stopped selling high dollar items on Amazon. My eBay account had been asleep for months, but In the past six weeks, I've sold 19 items on eBay, (range $20 - $500, avg. about $150 each). If the shipping screen says "eligible for seller protection", I box it up and ship it out immediately, and have never rested easier. If I had sold these items on Amazon, I might have made 5 or 10% more on each sale, but all it takes is one Amazon "buyer" to claim the Town Hall I sent them was fake, and I'm out $400, and (potentially) get my Amazon account shut down for life. For me, the best place to sell is is eBay (I've never tried selling on BL).

  15. Reincarnation? They already reincarnated the Death Star as the star killer base so I guess it's possible. But I only have one word to describe that if it's true, and I don't need a meme for it. Stupid.

  16. It was at the time. Said 2 reported veros in a rolling 12 month period (for authenticity / counterfeit reason). User reported veros do not count like a manufacturer reported vero and require 2 people to have it ended. I do not know how many of those you can get but it is very rare to have happen. Copyright / trademark veros are also not as serious as long as you don't do it again. Since then I have been even more cautious and research as much as I can about each new company I attempt to list. If I see anything I don't like I just don't list it anymore. Haven't had any for that reason since. Think I got 2 for trademarked words. Velcro and onesie. Gerber owns onesie and if not a Gerber onesie you will get vero'd. One disadvantage of getting so many products. Also a lot of these major companies now sell on there and I get leery of listing that type of stuff as well. Seems all to easy they get mad that you are selling cheaper than them and end your listing for saying counterfeit. Other thing you have to be careful of now as well is listing items in new condition. Some manufacturers clearly state you cannot list new if you are not an authorized seller for that company so you can get a vero for that. Comes down to warranty as they don't honor warranty for items bought from unauthorized sellers. Some have been known to issue counterfeit for that too as they say you couldn't of obtained them as you aren't an authorized seller.

  17. x9 so far for $9.40 each after discounted GC, $15/45 and $15/40 coupons. Plus around $13 back in points combined (With $6.25 not posted ) Fresh out of coupons sadly. Gonna have to go back to my old $10/50 and $5back/25 gravy train. Lots of stuff to pick up at my store this weekend!

  18. We still foot the bill in the long run. Amazon, ebay, and paypal are only going to pass it back to us in increased fees.

  19. Been a while since I posted. Life has gotten busy and I am on the road less, so I have less free time... as strange as that may sound. Either way, technically didn't buy it today, But my parents are selling their house and I was cleaning out some old stuff and look what I found with my beanie babies and baseball cards.

  31. Yeah open a case and once again both parties usually get what they want with the cost being passed on to all of us. They keep track of buyers who do this frequently but they just make new accounts. Avoid products that are high theft and counterfeit items. Theft: Meat Razors Baby formula Cosmetics Alcohol Laptops OTC medications Smartphones Clothing Counterfeit: Rolex, Cartier, and other exclusive designer brands. Louis Vuitton. Coach. Michael Kors. RayBan. Ralph Lauren. Uggs boots. Nike.

  36. Today I picked up this lot on Craigslist. They are a bit dusty and the minifigs are missing, but I am happy for $300. It is going to take some time to sort through the parts that fell off and to reassemble it all, but most sets look close to complete. Here is the breakdown: 6209 Slave I (missing some parts; with box and instructions) 6210 Sail Barge (missing some parts; with box and instructions) 6211 Star Destroyer (with box and instructions) 7665 Republic Cruiser (with box and instructions) 7672 Rogue Shadow 7675 AT-TE (with box and instructions) 7680 The Twilight (with box and instructions) 8037 Y-Wing (with box and instructions) 8039 Venator 76105 Millennium Falcon (missing a lot of parts but it was thrown in).

  41. I finally got the chance to finish up the UCS Imperial Shuttle 10212 that I picked up used a while back. I really enjoyed the build and the finished product. It is as large as expected and the use of snot pieces makes its final look a lot cleaner than the IST. If you have been thinking about picking one up for your UCS or SW collection I highly recommend it! So...what should we build next? We have 10186 UCS General Grievous, 10198 Tantive IV Anniversary Edition, 75021 Republic Gunship, and 10227 UCS B-Wing Starfighter in the queue. Which do y'all recommend we start with? (I will be building it with my 6 and 8 year old.)

  43. Paid $100 on a craigslist ad and got a big box of jumbled bricks. Based on the boxes and my discussion with the seller, the purchase had: 4709 Hogwarts Castle (includes box and manual in rough condition) 4736 Freeing Dobby (box included in decent shape) 4737 Quidditch Match (box included in decent shape) 4755 Knight Bus x 2 4865 Forbidden Forest (good condition box and manual) Because the sets are so old, the manuals don't include parts lists. I'm going to have to test build to find out what needs to be replaced, but most of the minifigures appear to be present and some of the very identifiable pieces - the trophy and rings from the Quidditch set, spires from Hogwarts, banners with house logos - are definitely there. Should be a fairly quick and profitable flip.

  44. That's why it's on Craigslist and not on BL or BP Classifieds. On CL I'm looking for a local end-user, not an investor. Your average person doesn't know that VIP points exist, let alone when they are double. Like I said I'm fine with holding the set for the long run, but I'll take a nice profit in the short term to essentially make the one I bought for myself half off.
