Next time you go on a pick and come back to your car and there's a lego brick on your windshield, or a little pile of them for you to step on and hurt your feet- you'll know.19 points

I just heard the distant sound of a thousand brickpicker car engines starting up, off in the direction of Kroger country.9 points

Another UCS set to add to the collection. Not universally appreciated due to it not instantly being a winner from a investment perspective but a great build and definently a classic Star Wars ships that is universally recognised and Lego have done a good job in recreating.9 points

Not much Star Wars at the price point I wanted at the Kroger I visited, but plenty of stuff priced for parts.8 points

I deleted all the nonsense and verbal attacks this morning. Everyone needs to remain civil on this forum. We'll deal with folks via PM after we read through all the garbage back and forth posts that were littered on here over the past hour. In the meantime, stick to Ewoks.5 points

Well, no mister gold, we smoothed them all three times. I had none of these so it was great. We were able to open one complete set, for our fig display. Too bad just two Medusa's. Thanks again.5 points

At first they did. Then they tried to rein me in when their stock got low, but it looks like they got replenished because they didn't seem to care last time I went. I sold 4 more last night, and got an inquiry on the final 2. I have a few non-minty boxes I may sell lower on eBay to get rid of them. It was a fun ride. Considering one last run on Sunday.4 points

Set 850425 was the first set I bought as an investment when it was on sale for around $8. I had no idea what I was doing at the time, and thought I had made a rookie mistake. Boy was I wrong. I've made more money parting out this set than anything else I've purchased. I finally sold my last pieces today: Seven 2x2 tiles for $25 shipped on Brick Owl.3 points

Oh so are you now "that guy" too? I thought I had claimed that title just a few days ago... FWIW, Kroger Marketplaces in the greater Cincy area are still at 20% off.3 points

I put some 10697s on Facebook Marketplace, once, only once. I only asked $65 or so. "These were $30 on Black Friday" and an argument commences that I wasn't even a part of, since these folks couldn't buy them anymore, others saying it was fair, etc. Ended up not selling any there either. This was after Black Friday 2015.3 points

New Shopko coupon. $5 off $25 or $10 off $50. Good thru 3/11. Stacks with sales & clearance.3 points

If you want a real laugh, put them on Craigslist or a comparable site. "Can you do half of your listed price?" "Can you deliver these to my house?" "This was only $15 on sale at TRU".3 points

Her limit is any amount of sets that can fit into our master closet without preventing her from accessing her clothes. My limit includes the master closet + car trunk & cab space + potential cabinet space at work. I've been playing a lot of Tetris with sets and breaking down a few Chima sets that I'll probably never build with my son or be able to resale at a large enough profit to make it worth my time or storage space. I'm a small fry that buys primarily for personal use.. and I do my best to not buy for resale.. but sometimes it still happens. Only sold a few holiday exclusive sets on eBay so far so it's all theoretical. I joked with my wife that I was going to buy enough sets so that I could open a different one every day for a year.. it doesn't seem like much of a joke now.3 points

The 25% was special only because it included Architecture, and B&N stocks retired Architecture sets. They had a 30% off LEGO sale for most of Jan/Feb before that (+10% for members) which included quite a number of sets (I was eyeing Fortrexes for $69.99 pre-member-discount), but no Architecture. You never know what hits the clearance table. B&N tends to have sets in the back that they don't have out on the shelves (at least in my area) - the 21118 MC The Mine sets I got last year were never put out on shelf, they went straight to the clearance table. Also, my B&Ns tend to have one of each set on the shelf, but might have a ton extra stock in the back. So what and how much will hit 50% clearance is really a gamble at this point.3 points

Unless Chormeister is in Portugal, I would guess someone is trying to scam him over the internet with someone else's picture. Also he mentioned the seller claims it's new/sealed, which it clearly is not.3 points

For Star Wars UCS sets to get a remake is a pretty rare thing. 7191 X-wing Fighter was remade as 10240 Red Five X-wing Starfighter with 13 years between release dates. 10129 Rebel Snowspeeder is getting a remake as 75144 Snowspeeder with 14 years between release dates. 10144 Sandcrawler (not classified as UCS set) was remade as 75059 Sandcrawler UCS set with 9 years between release dates. 10188 Death Star has been remade as 75159 Death Star, nearly seamlessly. Because it's a LEGO flagship set and the demand is there, obviously. 8097 Slave 1 (not UCS set but a big playset) has been remade as 75060 Slave 1 UCS set with 5 years between release dates. I would say that the chance that the 75095 Sandcrawler is getting a remake that is at least as good if not better within the next 7-8 years is slim to zero. A more likely chance I estimate is a new (smaller and less detailed) playset Sandcrawler. Similarly to how the UCS Imperial Shuttle (10212) got a smaller playset version released as the IST (75094).3 points

I think I'm one of the few here that am at least a bit excited for this set, while I wish it was just "Astronauts" I certainly get why this set was presented the way it was 1) Lego mini figures made for real people. Doesn't happen all that often. 2) Promoting Science and space exploration. I think this fits in well with the Apollo set. 3) It's simple, small and fits on an executive's desk (come on you knew that was coming). 4) If we're lucky and this set does well this could lead to other similar sets, I would love to see John Glen, Buzz Aldrin, Alan Shepard, Yuri Gagarin, Valentina Tereshkova...mini figures. Or Einstein, Newton, Copernicus, Galileo, Da Vinci...The possibilities really are endless.3 points

A Jabba's Palace aliens pack would be awesome. One of the rare lego sets I'd assemble for display myself. All the Jabba's Palace scenes bring back fond memories of my time living in NYC. East Village = Jabba's Palace, or at least it did 25 years ago. Maybe now it's all gentrified and more resembles the bridge of the Executor...3 points

B&N $100 gift card for $90, but physical card that ships via snail mail. The seller svmgiftcards literally uses a snail to send the gift card. 9398 for €50 Not sure if it's complete yet but it looks like most of it is there. A little corrosion in the remote but nothing that can't be cleaned out. One for my personal collection2 points

The first set bought online was the research institute set. I bought it for my kids and a few for gifts. I will for sure buy the new woman science set too. Not because I am a feminist, but because I am a woman who is a scientist and the price point is great for gifts. There are plenty of small to medium police, fire, ninja, and Star Wars sets which Lego keeps making as they keep selling. This set will sell well for lego and I doubt they care about resellers much. plus it goes to their core image as a company that promotes STEM and educational learning.2 points
