i felt the same way about YS barnes noble sale after i spent all my cash on the retired architecture. probably for the best anyway to wait to buy yellow submarine. i will snag some during double vip holiday promo time. i am doubting that YS has a production life under 18 months so i am guessing there is some time left. better to focus the cash on the retired sets. the bn sale was particularly satisfying because you were buying some of the best performing retired 2016 sets at 32.5% discount to msrp that were already selling significantly above the buyin. it seemed like they must have found another truck full of trevi fountains because these were at every bn i visited in abundance (3 stores in Western MA and Enfield CT) and without the spider-antitheft device. I was able to snag 12 Trevi between 4 stores. one store (Pittsfield MA) had 8 .3 points

You have a green light if u choose to load up. Remember there were only 100 units at that Target. That's a small drop in a big bucket.3 points

I tried to avoid at as long as possible, but I went to Barnes today. And scored the same sets as the rest of my fellow hoarde. But I did find a surprise, a pair of LTof Pisa. Didn't make the cut for 25%, but still managed 15% off retail. I don't know where they dug them out from, but Thank you!3 points

I handed the magazine to some random child at the parking lot for free then at home I realized there is no mini instruction enclosed with this sucker so the only reference I have is the packaging picture3 points

This. Today is the last day of the sale, so get out there and get picking. I'm all done cleaning up at my two B&N. I ended up with 12 White Houses, 14 Capitols, 5 Mazes, 2 Tydiriums, and 2 Trevi Fountains. Everything else I'll wait until 50% clearance.3 points

It's been TRU store policy for a while now that price matching does not stack with any other offers, including TRUTH. Getting them to do so is a huge YMMV and requires a supervisor override. Sometimes this site makes you believe that you should get every discount available including ones that go against store policy. It's great to score these once in a while but it should not be expected as the norm.3 points

Visiting SoCal area- B&N, 99 cents, TRUs...where all BPs...tons of deals, great sets, all discounted...maze, WH, Trevis, Sith, Scooby, fun packs, level...whoohoo!3 points

That's a good point. I forgot that LT shipped most of those out to other pickers at a slight markup. The Barnes and Noble price should be comparable to what they got them at then. I'll pick up a few.2 points

I'm sorry, but there is NO store policy in regards to TRUTH and any other offer. The credit card company, which pays the 10%, is a separate entity from TRU. They couldn't care less if you saved $1 or $1000. They give you 10% off your total when you shop there on Thursdays. You can either accept that the store has created a policy that a) doesn't make sense and b ) is against company policy, or you can get the credit card company on the phone and have them explain their policy to the the manager.2 points

Another MOC using only parts of the 75016 Imperial Assault Carrier: This one is inspired by the wing shape of the LL 928 Galaxy Explorer. I used this as my template for the spaceship shown. It has a large cockpit and a transporter room. This room fits a small glider and a controll platform, which can be left on a planetary surface to do some further investigations. The two blue thrusters illustrate the ion engines, which power that ship. They are located at a safe distance to the cockpit and transporter room, in order to avoid hazardous radiation from the charged particles in the electric fields of the ion engines. I am now constructing the original Imperial Assault Carrier, because I am on a creative break. If you have any ideas for another MOC alternate using this great collection of grey bicks, pls let me know✨2 points

Does anyone want to be a dear and make a list of the sets you are getting at Barnes & Noble and what your average buy cost is? The Barnes & Noble near me closed recently, so I don't have one to go to anymore, and I just want to know what sets to avoid buying from other places since you all got great discounts at BN.1 point

I do not have a copy on me, but like glostik mentioned...the coupons are just printed on regular paper and they are handing them out at the store.1 point

Looks like people have gone out and bought the Resistance Transporter today. It's been wiped out from buying online at TRU and stock has dwindled country wide by about three quarters of where it was yesterday. I think by the end of today with the B&N and TRU holdouts being the last retailers with stock that it will finally sail off into the sunset. Naboo starfighter is also sailling off finally.1 point

As a rule of thumb, the sets that are older and/or retired are the ones you should aim for. At this time, the market is in love with the Trevi Fountain and the White House. The 21022 Lincoln Memorial is also currently surging and reasonably doing well. With regards to newer sets, there's never a wrong answer if you like how the set looks. Personally, a US Capitol at 35% is worth buying. In the future, it will be likely discounted to potentially 50% when it closes to retirement in the next few years and further but it's your call.1 point

1. Yes, you could make $100k profit a year. 2. It would require roughly $750k-1M in capital, accounting for your product & overhead (space & payroll required, as others have said). 3. If you have that kind of capital, there dozens of far better investments. LEGO is high-risk. There's easily a half-dozen strategic risks to the business model, and not nearly enough strategic advantages to mitigate them. 4. Therefore, treat LEGO "investing" like you do betting at the horsetrack. Enjoy the scouting and picking of winners/losers, strategy of placing your bets, thrill of the race, joy of victory - if you take pleasure in that, it can be the most profitable hobby you'll ever have, but don't fall prey to illusions you could make a living at it. Yes, there's always stories of someone who "wins big at the track". Or some old timer who lives there in the smoking lounge and actually does make a living on it. But that simply isn't the norm.1 point
