  3. For me, I tend to not buy sets that are really creepy looking. This fits the mold.

  6. Excellent afternoon of brickpickin. Wiped out all the barnes and nobles of their white houses, and lincoln memorials. Also found a maze, and a mystery mansion. The maze came out to 47, plus I had a 10% raise gift card thanks to their "add 4" promo. Then I stopped by TRU and wiped out the last of the Sith Infiltrators and the last lonely Tydirium. The US Capitol Building is mine to build. Couldn't resist the 67.00 price point at B&N.

  12. they ask because they REALLY really don't want the person they are getting a gift for to see how much they are spending and if you are selling them one of your price gouger over priced retired LEGO sets you really shouldn't be surprised that they wouldn't want someone to see how much they spent on some plastic bricks. they are looking for a human on the other end. they end up coming back and buying more from you when you accomodate their request. i never include the packaging slip as standard protocol because i'm so cheap and don't want to waste ink and paper for something destined to the trash. i sell hundreds of items a month all FBM. i get the request to leave it out all the time anyway so my standard protocol means I never once screw that up. i have never once gotten a complaint saying where the hell is my packing slip. from my perspective as a voracious online customer (and the husband of an even greater consumer), the only upside to including a packing slip is if you are really trying to make it easy for the customer to remember where the set came from when they want to return it to you.

  13. Looks like people have gone out and bought the Resistance Transporter today. It's been wiped out from buying online at TRU and stock has dwindled country wide by about three quarters of where it was yesterday. I think by the end of today with the B&N and TRU holdouts being the last retailers with stock that it will finally sail off into the sunset. Naboo starfighter is also sailling off finally.

  18. I inadvertently stumbled on this when I bought GG for my stepsons back in 2008 as a birthday present. They never came and got it so I just put it up on shelf and forgot about it. I recently moved and the box was slightly damaged but it is still intact/sealed and I would consider it in very good condition. Do you think it will appreciate in value over the next 10 years? Should I sell it?

  19. There are lots of Retired sets available at multiple retailers below MSRP. TRU has over 999 Droid Escape and they still haven't gotten rid of their clearance Sith Infiltrators or RTT. BN has over 1400 Flatiron left last I looked not to mention you can get them for $28 on BL. I don't want to say the "B" word but if you look at a Bell curve we are definitely approaching +2. Unless LEGO decreases the number of sets produced per year or you are lucky enough to only pick short run sets I do not see much of a chance for recovery. Mods now please move all this talk to the bubble thread. Thank you.

  21. No, US market. Isn't the rule of thumb - take what is going in the US and deduct it by half for Europe? Heck, I don't even know why there are European brickpickers on this site.

  22. I was able to buy several cases of 40252 again today. I know time is running short on this, but I'm sure I can more than double my investment in just a week or so. Found a new Ninjago accessory pack that looks pretty cool. And the little chick from last year 40202. Oh and the iconic brick calendar.

  29. Just sold the oldest set in my inventory (based on my purchase date). It was a Technic 42001 Mini Off Roader from 9/10/14 I got for $8.47, a whopping 35% discount after tax. Sold for $20 with free shipping on eBay. Stunning performance on this one lol. With the eBay 10% rewards bonus on sales, will net a bit over $4 after fees and shipping. Yay for almost 50% return! I can almost buy a $5 Subway foot long with the profits!

  38. On vacation in FL, the one B&N I hit must have been in the middle of retired people. Livi's houses, Mazes, Dolphin Cruiser, Emma's Houses, all sorts of other retired Friends, Ariel's castles Found a Scooby Lighthouse and Plane on the shelf. Checking out asked if they had anymore... they found 2 Mansions in back. They also brought out a bunch of Ecto 1 which I passed on... they were like whaaa? Got one deep sea helicopter - realize it's still in stock some places, we'll see how it does. Didnt see any architecture at all. No old Star Wars. No Elves - was hoping to find some Dragon Sanctuary... Had my six kids with me... clerks said "You guys must really like Lego." Yep...

  39. Hi Phillip. The 20% off SW sets at TRU runs until the 2/25. TRU will have different themes on sale on a semi-regular basis and SW seems to pop up every few months. You should always check Brickset or Lego.shop for msrp because TRU tends to price their sets higher than retail which negates part of the actual savings.

  40. I agree that there are few that most always lack patience in regards to noob questions. At the same time though it can be annoying when people never take time to read a couple of posts (for the answer) and instead jump in with silly questions. I have to point out that I'm pretty new myself. I'm often baffled by some abbreviations and sometimes ask for help but I do try to find answers myself (30 secs on google, read back a few pages or refer to other threads). We all make mistakes and we all have moments when we lack patience. Even in the worst moments (inbox full of memes I'm thankful for the generous money saving tips and conversation found here). My advice for the noobs or... ask yourself if you can find the answer yourself in 30 secs of less before asking. Oh and there are times when a personal message might yield better results. Thanks everyone and I don't mean to offend anyone.

  41. Is it just me, or is there not much love around for newbies/low-rankers on Brick Picker? 50 odd posts, and most are met with scorn, memes, dismissal or attitude. Surely we all have to start somewhere. I don't know any secret handshakes!

  42. The 75016 Imperial Assult Carrier is a little bland in my opinion. However, it contains a lot of useful grey bricks to design space sets. My first creation is an X Wing Fighter. It has adjustable wings, a compartment for minifig people, a large cockpit, space for the dark R2D2, and all from the original bricks except for the transparent stand bricks and plate.
