Just confirmed that the sale IS valid in store for 39.95 and over sets, and you get your 10% on top of that, (and you can then use the 10% bonus (4 of 40) off raise gift cards too). They have signs up and everything. Lady checked and said Architecture is NOT eligible. Bummer. But since I've quit buying, I bought nothing. Just wanted to share the info with you lucky sods who are still in the game Millennium Falcon can be had for under 95 if you get the right gift card. Not bad.4 points

Update: The seller sent me $15, and then sent me a msg, saying that they choose to have the set shipped back to them. A couple days later (after they received the set), they sent another msg saying that the package was received well, and saying that they were sorry for all the problems and insinuation. So while the seller should never have attacked (assuming, and expressing their assumption), and the temptation to attack back can be strong - it usually works out best by de-escalating things.4 points

Not a fruitcake but an odd occurrence. I just sold an 850487 Halloween Graveyard Scene on eBay to somebody who lives in my same city. I just looked up their address and it is literally four blocks away from my house. I'm tempted to walk it over there right now and blow them away with extremely fast and efficient service. That would be a fun experience. I will still need to mail it though because eBay requires a tracking number to be uploaded or else I get dinged. Out of the thousands of sales I have made online, this is the first I can remember coming from my city. Anyone else ever have a similar experience? I have this same set listed on my local Craig's for a better price. If they would have just checked there we both could have saved some money. I'll put a thank you note on their package and inform them of my items on there.4 points

You must hate making money, you keep telling us how little profit you're making on sets which are selling ok everywhere else.3 points

Sorry, I thought it was still 2008. Nevermind what I said. You might want to only pick up 3 or 4 total.3 points

Town Hall retired out of order. So what you want to do to always be prepared is buy 4 or 5 of every exclusive, every month. That way by the time they retire you'll have your target of 50-60 of each safely tucked away.3 points

We had a BrickLink order once that was to a house on the street on the other side of the back wall of our business park. Literally 100 yards from our shop. Had to drive around the block to deliver it, but that was crazy. And it wasn't someone that knew us through the community, it was truly a coincidence. Talk about small world...3 points

I've done this before. It wasn't appreciated. Lol. Wouldn't recommend unless you actually know the person.3 points

2 explains 1 for some of the EOL growth. No matter how much we hate on AoH SW fans are buying it and need AT-AT to populate their displays.3 points

That's a good point. I didn't consider the creep factor in doing that. I'm in Green Bay, which has a population of just over 100k. People here are generally pretty nice and down to earth. Now that you mention it though, I never answer the door if I'm not expecting anyone, so it would probably come across as a little creepy. You sir, are what they refer to as, a "problem solver and a go getter".3 points

Now THAT is the best idea I've heard all day. He is retired so he has plenty of time available in between bingo sessions and the early bird special. I'll look into that.3 points

My son and I finished up the UCS TIE Fighter 75095 last week. If is a lot larger than I pictured it being, and displays well. I haven't built the Slave yet, but I still think it's odd that this and the Slave are on sale at the same time at the same price point (I bought the TIE used for $85). I really want to build the TIE Interceptor version at some point, which looks pretty sweet.3 points

I think everyone is missing the point. This is a movie. The ship looks like that. Lego made it to look like that. Take off the "I want a complete ship goggles" THEN look at it. Maybe they will release other ship based sets but this is based on a movie not a legit pirates theme..... I think they did well It's like commenting on the UCS snowspeeder thread and saying "uhhh pass I wanted the UCS At-At"3 points

The investment potential will be decided by the inclusion of a zombie shark. If it has one, this set is an instant classic.2 points

haha, I read that as if it's a blow-up doll or something. Might help justify the price.2 points

The URL I provided has the 3D copy also available for pre-order, $44.95: https://www.amazon.com/Batman-Movie-Blu-ray-Digital-UltraViolet/dp/B06VTJ5FLL BTW: Expected release date is June 2017.2 points

Just ordered a 21024 The Louvre Set from Amazon, using their BIGTHANKS promo code. It's online for $49.49 right now. I threw in some $0.99 Avery Dividers to get it over the $50 mark, since I do use them often at work. After taxes and such, it comes down to $43.47, which is about 28% off retail. Couple that with future rewards back of 5% with Amazon Prime Visa Rewards, I save about 33% off for an Architecture Set. Not a bad morning.2 points

normally i would say yes - if you have a bn membership you'll get an additional 10% in store, however, when i look up some of these sets online and check instore availability, the stores that show the item in stock do not show the sale price. specifically i was looking at The Beatles set which is showing up in stock at multiple stores nearby but showing at full price $59.99 despite the online price. i will be passing by there anyway today so i'll have to stop and check.2 points

Chris, I think you're coming in at a time where the LEGO reselling party is coming to an end. I'm not saying there is no more money to be made; what I'm saying is that the ship is full and the general consensus is that people joining now are going to have a hard time turning this into something truly profitable. Many here are getting more close-lipped on their strategies, as there is now a lot of competition. Plus, the general state of the LEGO market is post-euphoric, with too many sets out, too many people buying for reselling/investment, a reduction in buyers and big discounts around that were unheard of even 1 year ago. Combine that with an influx of new forum members over the last 1-2 years, with many coming with the expectation that they'll be handed their fortune on a golden platter, and you can understand why there is a lot of sarcasm around. This has nothing to do with you as a person. There will always be some headshaking when people hear about you plonking down 2k GBP in less than 8 weeks, but you own your own decisions. Read into the comments what you want, but see through the sarcasm and understand that some people use it to express concern about your strategy. Nobody here would chase you away - but many (myself included) will post about the victories and the extremes, not about the daily grind of investing/reselling LEGO. You might want to consider such a posting strategy yourself as well. There is a ton of info around on this forum, and lots of comradery and compassion. Take your time to get familiar with what is appreciated (deals! success stories! fruitcakes! delivery failures! set news!) and you will find that this forum will become a second home. And yes, everyone posts something sometimes that gets a negative response from others (epic deals in Target, anyone?). Just read it as it is intended: an opinion on what you posted, and use it to shape what you post and how you post it in the future. We all started with 0 posts and 0 reputation, and we have all posted stuff that others didn't like. You'll be fine2 points

Yeah have to say they made something unique and not safe which we've all been bitching about. So give them credit for that. Sure box will have a big impression of whether I like it or not in person. Ah galaxy squad bug. Remember a certain unnamed Lego store selling me a pallet of them. $21 couldn't go wrong lol. Well maybe you could. For some reason limits didn't apply to the last unwanted GS sets2 points

I love it. It's completely original. Many people here criticize Lego for rehashing sets. This is certainly no rehash. We should support this set to encourage Lego to take more chances in the future. It would have been easy to make a standard ship set but they didn't. They should be applauded for that.2 points
