40236 Valentine Picnic (seasonal vignette) shows $9.99, but in cart it is $5.355 (?). https://shop.lego.com/en-US/Romantic-Valentine-Picnic-40236 Despite some glitches, I was able checkout with 2 of these at $5.355 each...16 points

Should of gave the kid one of the chima sets, it's not always about money, few dollars in profit compared against a kid actually playing with lego wins every time in my books. It's not like there's a shortage in them aswell, guessing you've already bought hundreds already, doubt you would have missed a single set.7 points

So I decided to finally bite the bullet and sign up for their cc. Before doing so I asked CS desk if they would match their website price, honor the BOGO promotion, and give me the 15% off first time cc purchases promo. The nice lady said yes without hesitation. If I had known she was going to fubar the math so gracefully I would have piled a cart up [emoji14] Yes a rogue PS was found on the shelves marked at $189.994 points

Other than Minecraft I think this might be the fastest Ideas to 10k. It was posted Jan. 24 and hit 10,000 yesterday. Dungeon Master I like the idea but i think the rooms are a bit cluttered for actual "play." I can also see this being rejected because of being to close to Heroica or to "Adult". On the other hand if they can get the license to make it officially a D&D set (not likely) it could do very well.3 points

I also sell a fair amount of poly bags on BL. Get drawn in by one buy a bunch. Same goes with mini figures. 95% of my store is figs and polybags. Come for one that I might not make a lot on but end up buying a lot3 points

I don't think you can compare 10188 and this. 10188 was barely retired for 9 months before 75159 was released. This has been 10 years.3 points

It's more that If you start evaluating every set based on this sale, you'll never be satisfied with anything you buy LEGO related. If people want to invest or don't want to invest, I'm not going to tell them to do differently. However, it's not like we're seeing $50 Death Stars and $10 Heartlake hotels. We're seeing a bunch of stuff that originally had poor investment potential and a bad price per piece breakdown. Now they've swung really far in the other direction. It's not repeatable. There's no way that there will be another sudden influx of really cheap sets like this. Everyone should just enjoy it for what it is and not expect it to be the new normal.3 points

I suggest that you avoid that manager during checkout. The rest of their untrained employees won't know this policy. But they are trained to stare blankly back at you when you ask for the free promo item, then go off and wander around aimlessly for several minutes trying to find it.3 points

These Classic Space sets arrived today. The boxes are in great condition like the instructions. No discoloration of the bricks. Not quite a bargain but I am very happy with these classic sets. Awesome theme, timeless.3 points

Just got back from Lego store and they had all of the new sets already on the shelves, including GOTG 2. Oh jeez is the new Milano ship tiny. I don't think that owners of the original have anything to worry about as that ship looks like a UCS set in comparison. Some TRU will have the new sets as well. That's where I picked up Ayesha's Revenge.2 points

Pick up fail here. After they brought me 75163, I showed they got wrong one and pointed to 75156 on pick up email. Manager was not in the mood. I didn't put up much of a fuss. Wasn't meant to be.2 points

To my knowledge they all submitted retail receipts or online invoices and the outcome was Amazon funded the buyer. If Amazon has to fund enough of these I can easily see a Lego gate come down that no one can get through.2 points

Amazon is quickly becoming a black hole for large sets. I won't sell them there for the headaches. It is a top notch platform for the run of the mill stuff, but valuable items... no way. Too much glitter in that gold for the evil people.2 points

Set has been retired for about 1 month and is selling on eBay UK between £50-60 shipped (RRP £50). Nothing to scream about, but at least this set has started selling for above RRP, unlike doctor who. "Who" knows what the future for this set is. I personally quite liked the set from a build perspective, TBBT does have alot of followers aswell. I think it will perform better in US than UK. This set was available for majority of its shelf life for 20% off, during the 3 for 2 sales could have picked it up for about 50% off.2 points

I believe the only option for him to fix his shipping address is for you to cancel the order, let him fix his address. Because it's GSP you'll be shipping to the GSP address. IF you change the address you won't be covered.2 points

Kmart score: 2 x 70903 Riddler racer for 2.64 total 2 x 70905 Batmobile 10.54 total - this was originally 2 riddler racers bought online for in-store pickup, shortly after ordered was placed received a phone call from the store saying they couldn't fulfill the order and offered to replace it with the Batmobile. I thought it was just going to be 1 bat mobile for both riddler racers as they equaled about the same. Went to pick them up and they gave me a bat mobile for each riddler racer. Went to the toy aisle and found 5 riddler racers so bought 2 and used points/coupons to get them so cheap.2 points

This is very important. It would not be wise to let this one extraordinary phenomenon stop you from investing in other LEGO products. Don't let the fact that 99 cent only stores don't seem to understand the true value of LEGO cloud your judgement on what LEGO should cost, and what consumers think LEGO should cost. I mean, come on, Marty Mcfly, his guitar, and hover board for a buck? Two main Ninjago characters for a buck? Cragger for a buck? Ok that ones not a good example. Dr. Who and Tardis for a buck?2 points

I don't think I've ever spent as much in a store as I did today at TRU. They had all of the new sets on the shelves that haven't been released yet (Star wars - come out tomorrow, speed champions - haven't found a date, Technic BMW motorcycle). Some really nice looking sets! The best deals were the batmobile polybags and minifigures, but the manager let me use my 20% clearance coupon today since I finally signed up for a TRU card. Didn't grab too much on clearance, but was better than nothing.2 points

Hi everyone, 1st time poster. Great fan of everyone's work here. Anyway, I just noticed that Amazon also has the BOGO 40% for Lego Batman & Lego City sets. The discount only shows before you complete your order, though. Has this been reported by anyone else? I apologize if this has been posted already.2 points

I've heard this complaint so many times, I think I'm ready to start a cottage industry. Consider this me hanging my shingle. I'd like to offer my services to apply your windshield stickers for Red 5's and Snowspeeders. I have never had any trouble with this in the past, and am always surprised when I hear how difficult this is for others. I think it might be my super-power. All you have to do is mail them to me with a $20 bill in the envelope and return shipping. I guarantee I'll apply that sucker straight and true with no bubbles. Here's my biz card. What do you mean by long run? Most retail products don't appreciate over time like Lego and other limited run items. If you mean good short term flip material then almost everything beats Lego. Difference is you have to source and sell it continually to make money whereas with Lego you just sit on it and sell much less frequently. Lego is much more passive than regular household items which means far better hourly pay. Walk into any chain store in the country and you will find lots of household items with great ranks that make 30% ROI within a month. Do some research on getting discounts to buy online and you will find 100-300% ROI within a month. We do 10% Lego and 90% other toys and household items (home and kitchen, tools, health and personal care, beauty, grocery etc). Started with Lego but branched out 2 years ago. Like Lego start with another niche, learn the ropes, send in product, master it and then move into the next niche. For each niche you will learn the best items to buy, when the good sales are, ideas to create your own bundles, best keywords for your PPC campaigns etc. With Lego you don't have to do any of that, but the returns are far less as well because it is such low hanging fruit. Obviously the big revenue is in private label and wholesale but profit margins are much less (around 10%). IMO Lego still gives the best hourly rate if you can store it at home and sit on it for 3-4 years. OA and RA gives good hourly rate with good consistent cash flow. Wholesale and private label gives the best cash flow but much less hourly rate after all expenses. Lots like to mix RA, wholesale and private label. Plenty of opportunities and the sky is the limit. Like anything simply takes an initial investment of time and capital and you will take your fair share of failures along the way.2 points

There is too much to ship honestly, best for a local pick up. @dman2900 - will try and get a list together. Also close to 1k minifigs from various series etc...1 point

I think in the long run Gimli and the LOTR packs will do better than Chima packs. Speaking of Chima, I was at a 99 a couple days ago and there were only 4 Chima Cragger packs left on the shelf. I put them in my basket and then 30 seconds later a little girl shows up and I hear her say "hey wait a minute.....no more Chima??" She obviously saw them earlier and was confused on where they went. I slowly turned and walked toward the checkout lane. I felt bad but quickly got over it. ?1 point

might be over produced, but I think Lego has a new habit of selling at over-inflated price initially and then very soon after dropping it to the "real" retail. not sure how widely this was practiced in the past, but the friends air balloon was on of the first sets to do this recently in that it was $29.99 for a few months and then $19.99 for the duration of it's run. The encounter on Jakku has been marked down almost since it was released and at $59.99 really is too much for a set that size1 point
