I lost my father in exactly the same circumstances. I never knew him. The only things I do know is what others have told me. Tell those boys everything, even stupid story's about their father, anything so they can build a picture of him in their minds. Show them photos, explain every detail. Advise them, correct them, watch over them, comfort them.... Do everything that their father would have done for them. They'll need someone to be there for them all their lives. Be that person and they'll thank you when they're old enough to understand what happened.18 points

I need to just vent some sadness and this forum feels better than any other due to the kindness and true care that each of you have for one another. I'm newer here but come here more often than any other forum out there. Today I learned of a car accident that occurred yesterday and unfortunately took the life of one of my best friends; his wife, whom I also consider one of my best friends, is fighting for her life in critical condition. These two were awesome and cared for others before themselves in nearly every situation. It's a shame that bad things like this occur. I don't think I've been this devastated before and not to put other people I've known who have passed above others, but these two were different and made my life and all those around them, not just "that much better" but incredibly better. Hug and kiss your kids, family and friends. As always, life is too short.13 points

10212- it's missing a few pieces which the seller either lost or it got lost in the poor packaging but I was able to finish it with spare parts until replacements come in. The realization that parts were missing kept this from being as fun as it should have been but it still looks pretty great and massive. This was a warm up for my eventual build of the 10221 SSD9 points

There are many Lego items in "movies, music & books" that work with the discount that are not related to the batman movie. General perception. Ebay started as a garage sale and added retailers and credibility, but many still view it as a used item site. Amazon started as a new product retailer and added 3P sellers while maintaining a HIGH level of quality control. Also, Amazon has listings that are streamlined like a retailer leaving a consumer without many options (studies have proven people buy more with less choices), while an Ebay search without narrow parameters yields a lot of things that must be individually examined and takes a lot more work/time. The list continues, but these are the basics as I perceive them.5 points

No..lol small players have small budgets. many stores I left with nothing. Left many Jays and wicked witches looking back on it, as the naysayers kept me from going deep. I respect the opinions of many on here both pro and anti on these. 80 percent of my purchases were team and level packs. Of which I sold many in the first week and used those profits to seek out more team and level packs. The harder to find the better. Only in the last week did I load up on some fun packs. Wish I had a little more of that and a little less of that, but that's the game we play.4 points

If you bought a few thousand of these, you're not out much, except for a social life.4 points

I believe your first step, to attract the right buyers, is to learn the actual name of the product you're selling. It might help.3 points

Congrats to you and all of you who made out on this. As a fellow small-timer trying to climb the ladder, I respect the hustle. I'd have been doing the same thing given the opportunity. Don't think there aren't dozens/hundreds of BPers in other parts of the country cursing you (in a good way).3 points

EBay ISD 75055 $350 + shipping I had listed it awhile back berfore Roque 1 came out at $200+ shipping. Deciding to hold on to it I raised it to $275 right after the movies release. Well, the other day I raised it again to $350 + shipping just to hold. Maybe should of put it at $400.3 points

Jeez, Bro! I got 3 Who, 1 JW total. It's not a competition; but if it were, I would declare you the winner of "Who can get the closest to cornering the market on 99¢ Dimensions."3 points

I guess there is a chance this is the next Zombies or RE. If not I wouldn't be in any hurry, we will have a year plus to buy them. I would think this is the most hoarded set early on. Investors are not sleeping on this being a target exclusive.3 points

Completely unhelpful. He just asked where specifically YOU managed to net $160. If you don't want to answer, just say so. Or don't respond.3 points

It´s called xmas and it reopens every November! This type of set and price point should have strong sales going forward and won´t be as likely to plateau as SOH or EV.3 points

My opinion of this set has improved significantly with the 3 mini-vehicles separated leaving a very nice batmobile3 points

This is the best line, and should be advice for all of you who want to "get back" at a seller/buyer who irks you. Just let it go, don't respond, or respond very objectively and business-like. You have nothing to gain from responding in kind.3 points

Now that my fruitcake story has an ending, I'll share. And it directly relates to @California92563's comment. Be careful when replying to those folks, because they may become a pain in the ass. A couple of weeks back, I had an Arkham Asylum up on eBay. I do BIN, with no Best Offers. It was up there for $234.95. Guy drops me a line and says, "I'll give you $200 for it." I reply back with, "I'll counter with $235.95." (Yes, $1 more). He replied back with "haha, funny." I should have blocked him, but forgot. So, a few days later, without me realizing it, the guy buys it from me (at my BIN price). I ship it off. A day after it arrives, I get a note from him: "the package was wet, and water damaged, and there are broken pieces inside." I think I even posted on here, asking for advice. He didn't ask for a refund, he didn't ask for a return. So, I responded with my return policy. He responded the next day with, "it's for my nephew, I'll let you know what he thinks." I didn't hear from him for a couple of days. Everything is good, right? Well, about this time, I came down with a horrible flu, and was completely offline. I didn't notice that he put in a request for a refund (but no communication, just the auto generated request for a refund). Because I was sick and didn't notice, it went ignored. I suddenly unignored it when I got the note from eBay saying that a case had been opened against me - for "Item No As Described." 30 minutes later, I get the note that eBay has ruled against me, and will be issuing a refund (less postage), once the item has been returned to me. I did not respond to the buyer. Just figured I'd wait until it arrives, and see what happens. Hope and pray that it's still in somewhat of a saleable condition. Or, that I could at least keep it and that all the minifigs were there. Today, I got a new note from eBay - the case is closed, and the hold on my fund on Paypal has been released back to me. Clearly, the buyer never dropped it into the mail. Now, this buyer had 1,800+ positive feedbacks, with no neutrals or negatives. My own opinion is that the guy wanted the set for $200. He didn't appreciate my snarky response. But he couldn't get it for $200. So once he committed to buying it for $235, I'm willing to bet he hatched is plan to try to get the $35 back from me. First, by telling me that it arrived damaged (hoping I'd offer back a partial refund). And then second, by requesting a refund from me (and from eBay). He's been blocked by me. I'm not going to give a snarky response next time. I'm just going to ignore it.3 points

Thanks for the post. I ended up buying 3 of the Lego Minifigure Year by Year (Hardcover) by Gregory Farshtey ($28). I remember seeing this at Costco during Christmas, but didn't pull the trigger and wished I had. Ended up $57 for three books with the 5% red card. One for me, and two others as gifts. Thanks.3 points

YOU GUYS - I came to California for work this week and managed to snag a few! This IS super fun haha. Basically got two of the ones I could find, Homer, Bart, Wu, Zane, Gimli, Legolas, Witch, Gollum...I think that was it. Skipped on the Chima related ones.3 points

Saw it a second time today. First viewing really entertained me. Second time around I noticed how slow and drawn out the last 30 minutes was. Plenty of good humor in there for adults but the kids didn't laugh as much as I would expect for a kids movie. I enjoyed all the old movie batman references. Can't wait for Tower of Orthanc to hit $500 after this [emoji383][emoji383][emoji383]3 points

The difference is the $139 RRP vs the $12 RRP (or, in this case, the 99c availability). I don't see a lot of people turning to TUB to get their Wicked Witch.2 points

Just an FYI, the wicked witch minifig is in the ultimate batmobile set that was announced last week along with 2 flying monkeys.2 points

This is what I want to hear! I snatched all the Wicked Witches I could because I was fond of the torso print and head. If this movie gives the Witch a boost, I'm going to try and capitalize on it on eBay.2 points

Two thoughts from my side: 1. LEGO increased some limits from 2 to 50(!) for sets like Valentine scene or Birthday cake etc. They have made it as a bait. I mean nobody makes a child's birthday with 50 kids... 2. LEGO does not care about sellers who are selling already retired sets only... Therefore buy now in limited quantities and sell later after retirement... Think about an you will come to the same conclusion.2 points

So I have a LEGO item on eBay at $11.99 (buy it now or best offer). Someone sent me a first offer of $11.98. I obviously accepted but have reservations because no other than a fruitcake would make such an offer.2 points
