Old Fishing Store - Modular Building The Story The story for this modular building was that the Old Fishing Store is based upon the Christmas sets that are available. I liked the Christmas sets so I built this one on Lego Digital Designer (LDD). I really believe that this model could have a lot of genuine interest to fans of Christmas sets. This is the first of a series of modular buildings that I will be making. Summary The building consists of roughly 2160 parts and three floors: the main store, office, and lookout. I used the colors brown and sand green that gives it a realistic feeling. Three Mini-figures could be added such as a fisherman, the store keeper, one captain. And a lot of details. I hit two of my high volume stores. For the first time they had no fresh stock out. I noticed a couple of dudes trying to find just one pack of BTTF or JW. I felt bad for a minute, but I got over it quick...(insert evil laugh here)

I guess there's no real point in trying to discuss if a set is a good or bad investment anymore. If you say its a bad investment people just say "I bought this for 50% off so I'll still make money", if you say it's a good investment people say "it won't be anywhere like set xxxx". Everyone has their own interpretation of what is a good profit margin. £10 profit is nothing for Mr A while for Mr B it is an amazing ROI. I don't think anymore constructive info will come out of retired set threads, apart from periodic updates on how the set is performing.

lol - on a sliver platter too? would you like your butter melted in the microwave before it's spread on the bread? don't be surprised that no one is giving you the ingredients to their secret sauce. nothing ruins a good thing more than a rising seller count. just go to amazon, look up various categories of toys and see what the top ranking toys are, then for each toy check camelcamelcamel.com to see what the price action is over the course of a year to see if there are shortages and price spikes on the 3rd party seller market. to the point where your buyin will net you a profit. for a dummy like me, i need to see potential sale price 3x my buyin to make it worth my time and risk.

Kinda hard to compare The Lego Movie and John Wick films. Each was made for 2 entirely different audiences. (Kids w/ parents vs kids w/o adults)

I seen the Lego Movie, thought it was OK, but for you guys that have John Wick, go see John Wick 2 Final Chapter, I liked it 50 better than the Lego Movie. Its a shame we have to wait 2 years for Part 3. But John Wick is one of the better action movies in years. score 9/10

What do you mean by long run? Most retail products don't appreciate over time like Lego and other limited run items. If you mean good short term flip material then almost everything beats Lego. Difference is you have to source and sell it continually to make money whereas with Lego you just sit on it and sell much less frequently. Lego is much more passive than regular household items which means far better hourly pay. Walk into any chain store in the country and you will find lots of household items with great ranks that make 30% ROI within a month. Do some research on getting discounts to buy online and you will find 100-300% ROI within a month. We do 10% Lego and 90% other toys and household items (home and kitchen, tools, health and personal care, beauty, grocery etc). Started with Lego but branched out 2 years ago. Like Lego start with another niche, learn the ropes, send in product, master it and then move into the next niche. For each niche you will learn the best items to buy, when the good sales are, ideas to create your own bundles, best keywords for your PPC campaigns etc. With Lego you don't have to do any of that, but the returns are far less as well because it is such low hanging fruit. Obviously the big revenue is in private label and wholesale but profit margins are much less (around 10%). IMO Lego still gives the best hourly rate if you can store it at home and sit on it for 3-4 years. OA and RA gives good hourly rate with good consistent cash flow. Wholesale and private label gives the best cash flow but much less hourly rate after all expenses. Lots like to mix RA, wholesale and private label. Plenty of opportunities and the sky is the limit. Like anything simply takes an initial investment of time and capital and you will take your fair share of failures along the way.

FYI nothing after end credits

Couple of "debugging" steps: 1. Try the same coupon with the same purchase on all three sites (syw.com, sears.com and kmart.com). 2. Try removing all coupons from your cart. Sometimes this is nearly impossible as you might have a coupon applied that doesn't show in the list of applied coupons, which trumps the other coupon you are trying to use. I have used $5 off $35 successfully in the past, as well as the 5% off a single toy and the recent 15% off a single toy. It's just that they no longer stack with other coupons, so they are quite worthless unless you buy something big and/or use points (but not surprise points as those negate the use of coupons nowadays).

My 5 year old and her Vera Bradley purse are undefeated in bringing outside candy into theaters.

Don't forget all announcements here are not for killer investments. There are builders here that may just want to build the sets. A discount is still better than full price.

Day 1 buy to build as well maybe get a few for a larger version. Who cares what they call it @MarleyMoose you won't buy it for another 10-15 years when you find it on CL in some kids trunk who went to college and his mom is selling all his old lego just messing with you. 2000 small pieces and no numbered bags that should be fun.

What's interesting about this set is how close eBay and Bricklink are to Amazon. FBA $92 (74 total AMZ offers) FBM $83 (two listings below FBA) eBay $75 (67 listings, two listings below FBM) Bricklink $72 (21 listings, all exclude shipping) Those are pretty tight numbers across the platforms. It will be interesting to the watch the number of sellers over the next couple of months. Amazon was up to around 85 sellers at one time, down to 74 now. eBay is at 67 for buy it now/new. Bricklink is at 21. For comparison purposes Tydirium is at 94 Amazon offers, 116 on ebay, and 48 on BrickLink. (all US data)

This morning I found a bag full of six 40252s! How'd I miss places those?! Posted one on BL for $39.95 and one on eBay for $37.99 to test the waters, been out of the game for a week now. Built these two old SW sets out of a Goodwill lot and the Penguin Roller I got yesterday.
