I finally got around to building my used 10178 Motorized AT- AT purchased 2 years ago. I'll post more about it in the 10178 topic. In the meantime, here is the finished build compared to what I think is the best AT- AT based on current value, 8017 from 2010. 8017 gives you a lot bang for the buck compared to the 75055 one. Here's a comparison pic of 10178 and 8012. 10178 is about 1 inch higher. Getting a apples to apples height (all 4 legs straight) comparison is tough w/ o taking apart the 10178. Trust me, 10178 is taller.8 points

I wasn't buying anything today...but they had Batman Lego Movie sets at yoyo with 15% and I still had my $25 Hatchimal fiasco credit. So Joker Balloon, Catwoman, and Riddler for $36 shipped. Might not be the best "value", but I want as many of these ready to build when my daughter and I get home from the movie next month.6 points

repost from the shelving thread. seems to fit here as well. these may not be the best for lego storage but Kmart has a crazy deal going on for SYW point mongers. home items are $20 back in points on $50, plus 50% back in points on furniture. the cosco shelve qualifies as furniture (unlike most other storage shelving). http://www.kmart.com/cosco-home-and-office-products-4'-black-folding/p-021V002644190000P $70 for the rack, with $54 back in points. and that is before any SYW magic. with SYW coupons and points I have ordered two one for $50 with $52 back and another for $50 with $47 back. works on the 3' also if you want to combine them http://www.kmart.com/cosco-home-and-office-products-3'-black-folding/p-021V002644183000P6 points

This set has all the hallmarks of a turd. Retiring soon tag not doing the job, permanently discounted in the UK, high buying limit and only Ideas set to be reduced at SAH. If it does well after EOL, then there is hope for all of us and I´ll be all in on Nexo and Elves.5 points

Now that the LEGO Architecture Skylines series is in it's second year, with a total of six sets released so far, We are seeing some amazing fan-made models in the style of the official sets.I just wrote an article highlighting the very best of these custom models. (Before selecting my favorites, I created this Pinterest board where I collected all 24 custom Skyline models I've found so far.)Paris Skyline, by Cecilie Fritzvold Immediately recognizable despite its tiny scale, what's not to love about this Paris Skyline? I really like how closely it follows the style of the official sets.Budapest Skyline, by docbaliThis is another excellent model that follows the style of the official sets very well. It's worth noting that this model is one of the first examples to layer a building behind a bridge for a more interesting composition, preceding the same effect which is used in the new 2017 sets.Dubai Skyline, by Anscott While it is far too large and has an oddly shaped base, there is a lot to love in this Dubai skyline. It's interesting to see how different builders are expanding on the skyline concept. You can see all seven of my favorite models at brickarchitect.comSincerely,---tom P.S. Have you found or created an awesome Skyline model that isn't included on my pinterest page? If so, leave a comment below so I can add it to the collection!3 points

Hello all, Not sure where to post it but I have an issue. Yesterday evening I have found an add on the dutch website: http://link.marktplaats.nl/m1127899026 As I was quick I made an agreement with the seller: 10228 Haunted house for 250 euro and he reserved the set for me. The deal would include set 30201. As this is a very good price for a sealed set....it might be too good to be true. In his add he stated he wanted to sell this set because of ending his hobby. Well, a hobby would certainly include more Lego boxes so I asked him if he had more boxes. Yes he did but his nephew would buy the rest. So I started digging but could not find any data with infomation it is a scam. The address, name, back account etc. So I asked him if it was his own picture and he confirmed: yes. I made a story I was happy with that picture as the box looks in good condition. Further digging was required...I started to search pictures on google "lego 10228 30201" to see if this was his own picture. And then.....I found exactly the same picture..used for an add on ebay usa, an add of a fellow and respected Brickpicker. Am I 100% correct if this is a scam from the Dutch seller? No. But especially for my fellow Dutchies, please be careful with this advertisement. Cheers.3 points

The freemaker Adventure sets (star scavenger & eclipse) may not be the best builds / accurate representations of the ships, but this series might be very short lived and the star scavenger was the ship of the main Heroes so it may do good some time down the line. The series is also very popular with kids.3 points

He already removed his add. I told him I made the wire transfer so he thinks money is on the way. Not sure if I can put his back account number here to warn fellow brockpickers.....3 points

Low buy in plus good marketing of the TRU price (which was $130 last week). Even $80 after tax will get you $20 profit if you are QFLL'er who is selling for $100 on a local CL or FB exchange or OfferUp. Since $100 is retail even the appearance of getting it without paying sales tax is appealing.3 points

If that price holds tomorrow, PM at TRU and use Rewards and gift cards to get it below $703 points

Listing practices / Search and browse manipulation / Listing in an incorrect category OR Misusing a brand name (sometimes both apply; listing in an incorrect category, if the item is in fact listed in the LEGO category, is the more effective option -- misusing a brand name applies if the title includes the word Lego). Obviously the greater sin here, legally and ethically, is the selling of a counterfeit item. However, in my experience it is very difficult to get an eBay item removed on that basis alone. Fortunately, if the fakes are kept out of the Lego category and denied use of Lego in the title, they are almost invisible in best match search results.2 points

I just ordered a Cosco 6' folding table for $53. Received $59 back in points. This will help me organize my basement and all of the sets I am slowly working on. Price was competitive with Amazon. Also, I'm seeing on SlickDeals that the $50 cap on Smart Sense items was possibly reset so that if you hit the cap you can make another round of purchases. I hit the max last week, and now I see points showing up online when I place Smart Sense items in my cart. Picked up a 10729 Cinderella Carriage + 10723 Ariel Carriage + 41067 Belle's Castle for $31. Discount was even more because the $31 was placed against a gift card I got almost 20% off. So $90 worth of Lego for around $25.2 points

If you're worried about the wire shelves damaging your Lego boxes, just break down those shipping boxes and line them. More than enough padding to keep those boxes looking minty fresh for FBA.2 points

I'm in the process of building 10215 Obi-Wan's Starfighter. I bought it new/sealed but in a severely damaged box. Little did I know that there was bad water/humidity damage to instructions and some pretty bad wear to stickers. Any tips on how to assist the stickers in sticking to the set? Are there any good pastes or glues that won't leave crazy residue or damage to the Lego over time? It's only a couple of stickers right now that need assistance but I don't know if it'll get worse over time2 points

Lego store Houston had tons on the shelf yesterday discounted to $45 I think. I'm not going back until the disco Batman polybag so hopefully one of you picks them up2 points

The picture is stolen, always do a google image search before buying, it's amazing how many scammers there are out there. I would stay clear from that seller. The original image appears to belong to emazer judging by the google search results.2 points

Yes. Or maybe it's just that LEGO still have two warehouses full of of 21304. So who knows if it's the right time to buy the set. If there's enough supply we might even see a mid-year sale at 50% off. (Also, City of Stiix is now down to 270 copies at German TRU compared to 709 copies on December 26).2 points

I think this will be a 2 year set meaning it will be an extremely long hold. I'm not stockpiling at this price. I'm confident that I'll be able to get a few at half off next year. That said, I bought one for myself for personal build. Love the boat and bat costume rack. This theme has a whole lot of fun and creativity and is a breath of fresh air for the legion of batfans out there.2 points

I wouldn't drive an hour for that. Used friends go pretty cheap on ebay. That's all small stuff outside of the boat and vet. Good deal if it's local though.2 points

I built one last year. Really enjoyed it. Worked great once I got it lined up. Probably could have been packaged as a technic set.1 point

Past several weeks since the Holidays - three sets that have nothing in common! I built the AT-ST after seeing Rogue One right before Christmas. As someone who is new to LEGO Star Wars collecting, this was a must have as soon as I saw it was being released. Great set! Brings back lots of happy memories of playing with my Kenner AT-ST from the 90s. The only thing I'm more excited for is the soon to be released Y-Wing! I received the Temple of Airjitsu for Christmas (a technicality, I bought it myself for my folks to give me) - a fantastic looking set that displays really nicely. I don't have much use for the mini figures, but I suppose the citizens of Ninjago will one day make it into my LEGO city, and I have some ideas for MOC'ing the Temple and the Ninjas with my Dragon Knights from the 90s. I'm frankly surprised that this set was released - a theme that doesn't really appeal to AFOLs but not a ton of playability for kids - as a kid I needed something to attack and defend, and this...well...its a Temple, not a Castle. Still, no complaints, its awesome! Finally, I just finished the simple but very nice Lakeside Lodge. It will look nice beside the Mountain Hut. I like the simple creativity of some of these Creator sets. My wife and I are hoping to own some mountain property one day; in the meantime, we'll live vicariously through LEGO! As always, thanks to this community for helping me get these sets for good prices. I bought ToA over the summer when B&N had its 30% sale that unintentionally allowed you to buy books AND LEGO with the discount, and the other two sets were absurdly cheap thanks to Kmart / SYW nonsense. Up next, the U-Wing - bought through JET.com during their sale in November, another great BP tip!1 point
