I found a few hidden gems at BooksAMillion today (if yours isn't already cleaned out from the holiday sales). At my store, some of their older sets are not marked, but scanning at 50% off. Add on the current 20% off for members coupon, and I got a Pirates Shipwreck Defense for $5.60, A Deep Sea Starter Set for $4.40, Space Utility Shuttle for $10.80, 2 x Snowplows for $8.80... also decided to pull the trigger on a few Lincoln Memorials they had at 20% off ($23.99 ea).5 points

I hear that. It's just... why did he need my social security number to put the order through? I can't remember LEGO Shop at Home ever asking me for that. Maybe in Nigeria, your SS# doubles as your VIP #.5 points

This is a great find for me, thanks!! I give them away as gifts in my children's sports teams gift bags and at their birthday parties. Super duper good deal! Loaded up on them lol4 points

We all have our diff reasons to sell and buy-in prices. Sure, I could have gotten more but 1) I sold both w/o the retail box for easy / cheaper postage and 2) needed the space to store a planned purchase (10143 DS ) . i also sold one w/o selling fees3 points

Just got back from seeing it. What a great movie, loved it. I hated TFA so this was quite the surprise. Felt like star wars for grown ups.3 points

The current At-At pricing seems absurd when you can get the previous version with more figures and almost exactly the same build for less. There's several 8129 new & sealed, buy it now for $305-310 on eBay. For only a little more you can get the motorized walking version. Crazy.2 points

@BricksBrotha I'd take 5 at that price. If I'm wrong, i don't wanna be right2 points

Careful with the smart sense 100% back in points. I called customer service and was told it is a max of $30 per account. Just wanted to give you all a heads up before you go crazy mad with purchases.2 points

Thank you for all the replies! After looking at the different responses and really thinking about why I should or should not keep these boxes, I have made a decision. I have decided to just put them in the recycle bin. While I could probably get a little money for my empty boxes on CL, I feel it is not worth time or effort to post them, nor do I care to deal with people from CL. I am just a builder, not an investor and plan on having these sets for the rest of my life. If the time comes and I need to get rid of them, I will either give them to my kids or grandkids (if there are some) If they don't have any interest in them, then I will just donate them. I am really trying to declutter my life a bit and keeping these boxes are just cause more angst than I care for right now. Thanks again for the suggestions.2 points

I keep every single one, and we make sure it's well taken care of and the instructions are preserved. Like some have already mentioned, used retired sets with boxes and instructions and all the pieces/minis etc still intact are going to go for more money than sets that aren't complete.. I always have it in my mind, that while some of these sets are great, and get my sons attention now, there's going to be a point in the future, we will want to part with a few of these.. The open sets that my son and I have open and on shelves, we "russian doll" the boxes. It's amazing how many boxes you can store inside other boxes. For example, let's say you are collecting the Rogue One theme - well, you could russian doll sets like the AT-ST, and Imperial Hover Tank inside Krennics Imperial Ship... then when you get the battle packs, russian doll those inside the AT-ST. Over time, you have a couple boxes that I then put in bigger boxes, and those are stashed away. One 20x20x20 box can store about 5 of those bigger sets (like the T1, Kylo's Shuttle, Krennics Imperial Shuttle, etc) come in. And inside those boxes, you can store a lot of the smaller boxes. I have stored our open collection that way..2 points

Selling a used set with a box does make a difference on ebay, for a normal set (not exclusive, UCS etc) you are probably looking at a difference in price between 5-10%. For rare sets like UCS MF, taj mahal boxes / instructions alone can sell for between £50 to 100+ Some buyers prefer paying more for listings with boxes/instructions as it gives the impression that seller has taken care of set (even though this may not be true). Some prefer original stickers aswell, and they also go for big bucks themselves, but nowadays you can get non original stickers pretty cheaper in ebay (whether it is right / wrong to buy non original stickers is another issue). For used sets I personally keep all original boxes / instructions and even the plastic bags lol. I don't keep the stickers as I rather put them on the set, I know i can get money for them but you shouldn't think of money all the time when the whole point of lego is to build it. If you have the space keep the boxes, definitely keep the instructions. If you dont have space for boxes its not a big problem as you'll still get money for your sets l.2 points

That set and Super Hero High School (41232) get 50 extra VIP Points. Just works out to be 3x points for the 24.99 Batgirl set, https://shop.lego.com/en-US/Promotions2 points

Flattening the box now just means cutting 2 more seals. I can't imagine that reduces the value appreciably. If you choose to sell individual boxes don't underestimate the pain that shipping will be. Your customers may bawk at shipping costs. As mentioned by others local sales might make more sense. Store them all together flat. Pop them back up if you sell later and include instructions. Sealed instructions might be attractive, but more just having them in good condition. Stickers not applied could be significant. Personally, I'd consider nabbing a new sticker sheet now for current sets that you think you would sell later. Sheets for the Porsche are higher, but most current sets that are parted out you can get inexpensively now. Watch the dust bunnies if you go under the bed. :-)2 points

Been stocking up VIP points since May or so, placed an order since both Vancouver stores sold out before their initial opening line ups were even done. Paid $260 CAD tax in. I just sort of wish the batwing poly promo wasn't on.... Cause we all know they're going to chuck that in to the shipping box first. I'd like my set to arrive pristine even if I am building it... I'd like to point something out to all of you folks that have Detolf cabinets and have run out of space on their Modular shelves.... With some creative insertion into the cabinet, and exclusion of technic pins (you could actually successfully use the half-pin that creates a stud when plugged in, forget its official name, but beware if you want to get it back out of the cabinet...), a 32+16 stud baseplate JUST fits. I plan to display my Assembly Square behind glass something like this:2 points

Latest UCS Star Wars Build. I knew that the Imperial Shuttle was huge but still taken aback by the size of it. Side by side comparison with Vader's Tie and the AT-ST, and it dwarfs over them.2 points

Totally agree with@Mhd747 Just to clarify my remark re:stickers. Go ahead and apply stickers. Have fun. My suggestion was pointed at that if you know you might resell consider getting a new sheet now. Removing the applied stickers to resell later should work. Warm soapy water and maybe some rubbing alcohol for residue (not aggressive solvents). Depending on light exposure bricks might 'show' where the sticker was. I don't have a ton of experience with moving old used sets. Maybe someone wants to weigh in on old sticker removal and dis-colorization.1 point
