  3. Decent sale off Craigslist today. I don't normally expect big sales on Craig's, but every once in awhile you get a person who actually knows and appreciates the value of Lego. All new and sealed... 10221 SSD $850 10240 Red 5 $265 75054 AT AT $265 75020 Barge $125 75052 Cantina $80 75049 Speeder $50 Total $1635 Just over $800 profit. No fees, no returns, no shipping, no hassle. This is why even though I don't expect much from Craig's, I always keep my listings up to date and refreshed. The only two sets I had listed were the AT AT and the Red 5. Everything else he bought because he asked what else I might have.

  5. $9.81 each at Sam's Club. Wife: "Remember those ones I got last week for $12.81?" Me: "Yeah. Sold em all already. About $13 profit each." "So if I told you I got 10 more of them at $9.81 you'd be really happy, right?" Me: "Oh God, please tell me you arm-swept..." "The only one I left had a damaged box." Me: "Dear Lord I love you..." "Will your Lego friends get jealousy-boners?" Me: "Gimme a second, gotta finish posting something on Brickpicker here..."

  6. I have been doing some builds with the kids during the holidays this year as usual...Finished up our 75153 AT-ST Walker this morning. Baze is pretty sweet as far as mini figures go. We never built an AT-DP or an AT-AP when they were out over the last couple of years, so I was kind of excited about this one. Overall, we enjoyed building the set and like it! Would be nice if the Walker walked more easily, but I understand the design constraints for a set of this size.

  13. Enjoyed the Christmas holiday with family and built this oldie/goodie over the past couple days. I bricklink'ed this set after pulling about half of it from my bulk collection. Enjoyable build and happy to add it to the modular street.

  14. After the demise of Railbricks.com, things were a bit "empty" in the LEGO Train railroading world. Luckily Cale Leiphart (a famous LEGO Train AFOL) has stepped into the void with a few buddies and today marks the launch of http://www.brickmodelrailroader.com. I'm hoping they manage to turn this into an ongoing stop for LEGO Train addicts. Take a look yourself.

  18. This Dimension Starter Pack is only $19.99 vs. $79.99 on amazon. Amazon Dimension Starter Pack (Not sure how to make this an affiliate link so any MOD who wants to step in, TY) I don't do dimensions but I have purchased a bunch of the smaller packs for $5 or less and for a couple figs and pcs...they make for easy 10 - 20 mins of entertainment for the kid and for that price, they aren't a bad deals...This one is the bigger starter pack and I figure for a few pcs and 3 figs, $20 ain't too shabby.

  19. Lots of Lego at 50% off in stores now! Definitely worth a pass through if you have one nearby. Check their website to get an idea of which sets are on sale, advertised prices in store didn't reflect the 50% discount. Price checker did.

  25. Got K-2SO for my birthday (31st is my birthday actually but gotta work tomorrow). My first SW Buildable Figure. I have seen Rogue One the 27th of DEC (RIP Carrie Fisher). I enjoyed the movie a lot, pure entertainment and I always love to watch the ships on a big screen. Those Y-wings looked fantastic and the Imperial Star Destroyer is just amazing. Krennics' Shuttle is pretty nice as well! During the movie, my friends saw this big boy smiling like a little kid...and they made me smile again today with this present. A fun build and it looks great!

  35. A few tips that have saved me loads of time... Highly agree with advice to get yourself in the black as soon as you can. 1) For sets that look pretty much complete. I will scan the last few pages of the manual and make sure it looks finished/complete to the eye. I will then take all of my pictures. Then I will take it apart and inventory the set to sell. Saves me a ton of time with high piece count sets. Last year I bought a $1500 lot off of CL that had the first 5 modulars released (among many other sets). They were all built. I didn't have the time to rebuild them, so I did this approach. And for very high demand/high dollar items, you can shave off just $40 and your item will still sell if you disclaim that it may or may not be complete. Some times that $40 saves you hours of work. 2) If you do not already have some organized inventory of commonly used pieces, I suggest starting one. If building partially built sets, and I cannot find a piece; odds are it will be in my own inventory. Because I have a good system already in place with pieces by type, I usually just sort by color. Plus, my kids help, and it is easier for them to sort by color than type. 3) I use the 48x48 gray baseplates to organize mini figures. This especially comes in handy when figures are all over the place and often mismatched. Good luck!

  44. Hey Folks, I just visited our local cinema because they have one giant MF in their entrance area as a promo for Rogue one. This monster MOC is build from a Legoholic around town. He states that this is the biggest MF in the world (except the real one in a galaxy far far away ) ! It has around 35.000 pieces and the outer shell contains mostly the original grey pieces. It's about 1,83 metres (6 ft) long and 1,24 (around 4 ft) metres wide and it took 2 years to build it. But enjoy the pics yourself. just wanted to share this, all credits goes to this insane guy who build it. I was very impressed by this MOC! And I was quite suprised to find something like this around here. It's a small town with approx. 5.000 people living here and then something like this appears out of nowhere. I like it! What do you think, or have you seen a bigger MF already?

  45. I finish a lot like this about every month. I make my 2 kids and husband help. I start by taking all the large pieces that are partially together and put aside. I then go through and pull out all figures and books. I line up all books and put the figures that go to the books next to each book. When doing that I also put parts I know go to certain sets in plies near the books. Then I start with the easiest. Like the ones mostly built or an orange set while the rest are grey or something like that. I try to get out everything I can easiest first. I photograph them each when complete bag them and put aside. I then sort out usually endless grey Star Wars pieces last and build the sets. Any set that is not worth my time I leave in a separate box. I may just sell figures from them or something. I take remaining pieces and donate them to a school or if it's a lot I sell them as a mixed piece bucket on Craigslist.

  46. It's been a while since I've posted as life has gotten busy, however, this year has definitely been an eye opener for someone like me jumping back in the game after being out of it 9 years. I think the Death Star remake definitely had the biggest impact, completely sucking the wind out of many reseller's sails. The idea that you could potentially buy a set at a premium only to have it rereleased in a couple months to a year was completely and totally devastating to me as a collector and reseller. I have stopped buying sets at post market prices because of this, and I am betting many other collector's have as well. Tied for second would be the clones and just market saturation/lego fatigue. As someone who recently was buying sets at post market prices, I have since noticed that the sets I was buying from Jan. - May of this year have now since dropped in price. For example, I was watching the SSD like a hawk looking for a decent deal on it early this year. I felt LUCKY to buy one brand new in box for $800 dollars, and that was stalking eBay's Buy It Now Newly Listed listings. Now it is extremely easy to buy one at $800 an can be found for less. A set selling at $1,000 is difficult to move, whereas before it was standard. This is one example of either the clone effect or the Death Star Remake, or saturation. It's hard to say, but the bottom line is the set has decreased 20% in price since the beginning of the year and most of this drop has been since the release of the clone SSD. Whether coincidence or not, it is a real drop with timing that coincides with the lepin releases of SSD, DSII, 10179, etc. This is quite concerning for a flagship level set such as the SSD. 2017 will definitely be interesting from an investment perspective. In 2016 the market has changed more than ever before, and 2017 could be even rockier.
