Did you inspect the minifigures? Depends what they are wearing. If they have long sleeves and pants I think it will be ok. I could be wrong.13 points

I'm a 'value' investor, so this has always been true for me. As far as discounts go, I think this year is typical from over the past 10. The past few years, TLG has had supply issues, so the discounts have been rare. Previously (2009-2012), target would often blow stuff out online as the shipping deadline for Christmas gets close. My favorite year was 2011, 8061 Gateway of the Squid for $9 (from a passed over theme) available for a few days. Great ROI on those. 2009 was another year like this one, with 20-30% off modulars/exclusives common. I think the last few years were the outliers. For me, as far as discounts, this year is more typical.4 points

If you can find it in store at target MF is $81 with red card. All my targets have it in stock. The last MF was around for 4 years. I think this one will probably repeat that. I guess it depends if it will be featured in the next episode. Maybe Rey takes command of it.4 points

Hi all! I've been on brickset for a couple years, and lurked here just as long after coming out of a long Dark Age. After realizing that this is the place to track deals , I figure I should be a bit more active here. I don't dabble much in the resell game, I'm mostly interested getting LEGO as cheap as possible to build with my kids then MOC away.3 points

If you are happy with 50% above RRP on a sub 20 euro set then yeah, bring on the awesomeness.3 points

I ordered some boxes from Staples on Friday and they are scheduled to be delivered today. I'm in the Midwest, if that matters.2 points
-
Thanks. Staples is usually really good about shipping orders out in a day or two but with the holiday season I'm looking for a backup plan. Hopefully TRU and Target come through and send me all my new shipping supplies this week2 points

Yes, I thought I saw Exciter1 post it a little while ago. I guess he removed it. It is up in the list at the top of the page. Thank you.2 points

Lots of people just want to buy off the Internet and get it delivered rather than hunting stores. Time is the rarest commodity and if you can save wealthy people time, they don't mind the cost.2 points

Gee... I think that last threat of work action really broke Canada Post's standard operating procedures or something - it's just not working the way it always has anymore! Sitting at my desk yesterday afternoon the doorbell rang for a package delivery... WTF! they carried a package up my private little 20' driveway to my door, over 1/2 a km from the nearly always frozen-closed super-box down the street, they had the nerve to ring the doorbell, on a Sunday afternoon!, in a snowstorm! who do they think they are USPS or something! Not even Fed-ex will get out of their truck, and UPS won't even venture into a suburban neighbourhood (for fear of all those Volvos & nasty Santa-Fe's I assume). Postie was pleasant & smiled as she handed me the little box - why be that way when there's a perfectly good row of hedges along the front of the porch under-which the Purolator guys make full use of for their deliveries, why take all the fun out of having to scramble across the garden to retrieve a soggy box? yeash, guess must be newbies hired for the annual essentially grinding postal slowdown that happens this time of year.2 points

Yes, this time of year typically has the best deals, though this year has seen discounts that are as good or better than the usual after Christmas clearance events. What remains to be seen is whether this trend of large discounts continues into the new year. If it does, that's a game changer.2 points

It appears that we've reached a point where most sets are worth only buying if they're upwards of 40% or more off. Is this typical for this time of year in recent memory? Because sales, have been a bit ridiculous the past month.2 points

Amazon.fr: If you have prime/premium for amazon.fr (or you sign up for a free month) you can get the 42056 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS for 193,71€ incl. shipping (at least to germany). First time I've seen this one under 200€ incl. shipping2 points
-
I think you did well. Somehow I can never buy another of the same set when it is more expensive than the ones I bought (and sold) earlier. The lowest buy-in is my reference point for possible future purchases.2 points

I think Lego plays a big part in their current brand devaluation. Their current market strategy is saturation and overproduction. Now we see 50% off Lego during the height of the Christmas holiday season and retailers still can't sell their stock. We see Lego Dimensions practically being given away. Lego doesn't sell anymore at RRP in stores anymore. I think that's a problem for Lego, not just resellers.2 points

Deals please. Argue the merits of the minifigs, or sets or movies in the appropriate subs. Thanks!2 points
