Let's call it, "Thanks for nothing" I'll do the first one. Hey Mudcatsfan, way to jump to conclusions on this one. It's currently available for 30-40 less now than it was 3 years ago despite being 'retired'. THANKS FOR NOTHING18 points

Morning all from the UK. After listing for 5 weeks on Ebay I sold my mint 10179 (not first edition) and delivered it personally. I did have to drive an 8hr return trip to London but I think that my item description of me delivering personally, as I would not put on a delivery truck worked in me selling greatly. The diesel only cost me £50 which was cheaper than insured delivery. Im not here to gloat but only to let you guys know you can possibly get £4.5k for yours too ;-) I always wanted to keep mine for ever but starting my new business ment me freeing up some money sadley. Cheers guys, Steve.8 points

Sometimes you need to tell her "great job", bring them to your storage, and then go return them the following week. Marriage is all about compromise. Lego investing is not.6 points

Off topic - I have been mostly reading the forums lately and I find that there are more people here simply taking from the site (or just announcing purchases without any information, ooh look at me!) instead of contributing something positive. There have been WAY too many negative posts about the future of Lego [your favourite cliché here] and a lot fewer well thought out posts and I miss reading those! Everyone comes from different backgrounds with different goals but these goals seem to be a lot less compatible with any meaningful discussion in the past few months and that's disappointing. I encourage everyone to have a nice relaxing weekend and come back fresh and ready to contribute, instead of bicker over who got what and what should I buy and other less-consequential crap. Buy your Lego, flip it or hold it, or don't buy it. Put the work in and make it work or don't. Be positive or at least be constructive and thoughtful in your negative posts. Thanks to the people that regularly post good, great, or awesome deals or thoughtful posts and that really should be the end goal for everyone, because we all benefit. **EDIT HERE** I'm not old, but get off my lawn! On topic - Kmart - switch tracks $12, work your magic people. - http://www.kmart.com/lego-switch-tracks/p-004W004602817001P?plpSellerId=Kmart&prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2 Kmart had the 60052 Cargo Train for $125-127 but it is currently delisted. I expect this to come back at some point and $127+magic makes this an easy 50% off, if you fancy the set. 60104 Airport Terminal - 20% off - http://www.kmart.com/lego-city-airport-passenger-terminal-60104/p-004W001228588001P?plpSellerId=Kmart&prdNo=4&blockNo=4&blockType=G4 I have been receiving a lot of $20 on 60 coupons lately and that makes the terminal 40% off, if you like planes6 points

This has been a great forum to help spread the joy of Lego. I've made purchases based on deals I've seen posted and others have made purchases based on deals I've posted... To me, we are all on the same team. Thank you to Ed, Jeff, Phil, Exciter1, Val-E, Alpinemaps, and the countless others who make my time here enjoyable.5 points

The listing is currently showing the wrong brand Star Wars instead of LEGO. I opened a case to change that. There are a few SW and Disney sets still under the wrong brand but they are easily corrected. What I do is open a case by contacting seller support instead of choosing the "report incorrect product information" on the listing. When you go thru seller support they ask for a website to verify the brand and I give then the shop at home product page. Takes them about 10-14 days to correct. Sit tight they will fix it in Nov some time. Don;t bother upgrading to professional just to try and list as you will need to send in the invoices and pay a fee.4 points

My FLL team needed narrower wheels for its robot. I looked at BL first, but then, by stroke of genius, realized I could benefit from the situation and purchased 42036 - for me to build, then the team takes the wheels, and after the tournament I get them back . Nice machine, a couple of really tricky connections but otherwise a quick build.4 points

I built the 40138 Christmas Train. I had put together 40139 Gingerbread House last night. It's funny how different an experience it was vs. last year. I don't know if it was the hype or the space of time, but I had thought that GH was a "better" set. Today, I cannot decide. I still love the look of GH, but if I compare the build, I enjoyed the train more. I'm really looking forward to the new Winter Village train. Slow and steady. My baseplate purchases are averaging around $4 each. I know LUGBULK can get them to you for less, but not (yet) part of a LUG. I was looking for the $5.75 baseplates, but that deal was only valid yesterday it seems and now prices went back up to RRP+$1 (this morning) and RRP (after 12pm EST today). All other small sets are either not available for store pickup at all, or not available for store pickup in a Sears (I no longer have any KMarts within a 30 mile drive), or "Temporarily Unavailable". I could have gotten a Water Dragon for $11 and change, but I have enough stocking stuffers for the kids for the next 5 years stuck in a closet already :). So baseplates it is. If I don't use them, I can always sell them on BL for $5 a piece and make a dollar. Typically some sort of a promo that you didn't know was running, for which the points "get credited in 3-5 days". I've had this happen with 10k point promos in the past.3 points

I know I am chiming in at least 5 hours too late, but I had wanted to post this back then when the whole surprise at @Serejai's purchase power and prowess started: (S)he has never made it a secret that (s)he does $1M in annual sales - I was even browsing her/his post history to get a quote when I had to rush to my day-job. And there are others here who plonk down amounts of cash in a day that I'd have to sleep weeks on the porch for if I tried pulling such a stunt on the missus. As said before in this and other threads: Everybody has their own strategies. That's why I balk at blanket statements telling people to buy stuff "because its a good deal" - everyone has their own game. Now, if you see a good deal (and had your fair share if applicable), please post it here. Give AND take as somebody said earlier.3 points

Built these three sets over the past 6 months. To my surprise the Tie Fighter displays the best of the three and gets the most attention from guests, but was a fairly repetitive/somewhat boring build. I think the Firehouse was the one I enjoyed building the most with the interior detail. I've never been a Slave I "junkie" so I sort of anticipated my reaction to it after built to be meh, but it is a nice set.3 points
