I think you're in the minority with that mind set. I think that's exactly why it appeals to people. "Oh another tie fighter and X wing..." It's a close UCS without the sticker (which the badge means nothing anymore) it displays nicely and I honesty think it will do well post retirement for that reason...it's different and from an iconic scene/battle. Anyone 21+ who grew up with OT would want this set. It may not be for everyone but don't be mistaken and say it's a led balloon. I personally havnt built mine yet but looking forward to it and displaying it. Has more to "look at" than most all grey ships.

I'm not a train guy but when I held these two pieces together i just knew they would go well together! And with it being so close to Halloween, I felt it just clicked. I borrowed some of the basics of typical lego train builds for the base but after that, it's all me. The Spider body utilizes a modified Lowell Sphere. Regarding the Media Mail package from a few days ago: I think the seller got told off by the Post Office - now there is a tracking number for Priority Mail and package has been accepted by USPS. They must have tried to send it Media Mail and got denied at the counter.

I can confirm what others have said about a coming glut of these. I just saw an end-cap display full at my Walmart.... maybe 60 or 100 in the display? It was a cardboard "Star Wars" display case, prestocked with these polybags... the kind that is probably shipped out to every Walmart. I bought one for my son to build. That's it.

Yup, €260 as well in The Netherlands. That definitely means I'll have to find someone in the UK to buy it for me there and mail it to me. For that price-difference it will be worth it! Our British BP-colleagues here are going to score big time here! Oh, and on the Dutch translated LEGO Shop at Home the name is "Gebouwenset" which literally translates to Buildings-set. I rather like the German name for it!

Slightly off topic but in the Lego store the other day there was a build a helicopter play area in store that cracked me up.

I did it last year with all new pieces for $800. There really aren't that many rare pieces, but like you said, it's the shear volume of 6000 pieces. With it being almost all white, I didn't want mine to look like crap so I went with new. I have not yet procured instructions either, that's another $100+. I purchased quite a bit from LEGO Shop at Home since they have the quantities you need in many of the pieces. The yellow technic ell goes in and out of stock, don't give up on it if it's gone for the time being, and don't pay the crazy bricklink prices. Definitely price out different pieces at the different sites. Some are cheaper on Bricklink, and vice versa. Now that Bricks and Pieces on LEGO Shop at Home shows pricing up front, that will save you some time since you used to have to wait for their invoice to see what the parts cost.
