Simple, It's pretty much always a standard procedure on BL... rigorously watch the sales threads here (and elsewhere), watch the flyers for the big retailers and use the webwatcher tools to see whenever anything Lego goes on sale for anything more than 15% off.... AND AVOID ALL THOSE like the plague!!! choose everything else instead, any clearance Lego will not give you proper returns to part-out. Basically everyone else is picking up those in huge numbers and will already flood the marketplace before you even get back from the toystore. New sets right off the printing press can do really well if they have unique parts - if you can get them a week or two before the release date - otherwise forget it. you may have some luck with really expensive sets that folks might not want to buy for a piece or two - but then you're still stuck fighting the bigger fish to sell off the chaff anyway. since the Bl upgrade, prices are falling drastically as everyone races for the bottom price just to get search hits. "Cost vs Part-out Price" has very little to do with the equation anymore, it's no longer what you pay - it's what you have to sell that others don't.

10254 Holiday Train MOC by Mouseketeer

Back in September I started sorting through a recent Craigslist find and two pieces happen to end up in my hand at the same time. The train cow catcher, and the coffin lid with bats. I'm not a train guy but when I held these two pieces together i just knew they would go well together! And with it being so close to Halloween, I felt it just clicked. I borrowed some of the basics of typical lego train builds for the base but after that, it's all me. The Spider body utilizes a modified Lowell Sphere. I present my Halloween train & red backed spider MOC.

I think @Tabbyboy had a change of heart about the Simpsons and cleaned out some stores. So Lego decided to postpone the tagging of the Simpsons.

2 years ago resellers would have cleaned up TLG overproduction messes. Not anymore. I am waiting for deeper discounts. No need to be a hero at RRP these days.

I had that happen once....I purchased an item on eBay and the USPS opened the package and deemed that it was not covered under Media Mail. The postal officer gave me a card that showed the correct amount owed and said that I needed to cover the difference. I "rejected" paying for it (said that I needed to get in contact with the shipper) and the post office said they would hold it for a week till I could sort out the issue. I e-mailed the person on eBay and they refunded the amount that it was going to cost me to go pick it up at the post office. Worked out in my case, however this may happen to you if the post office checks the contents. Or the shipper may not refund you the difference and the item will get returned to them, and you will have to get your money back from Paypal since it was not officially delivered. Generally, sellers will try to work with you on this type of issue. Hopefully, it works out well for you and the seller.

I think this is a good point, People are trying to predict, guess, how this will pan out according to the past results of other sets. But really, they have no Idea what they're talking about. Idea sets are a different beast entirely from any other theme. And within Idea sets, DW is in a league of its own. What can you compare it to? Birds? Exosuits? Maze? Ghost busters seems like it would be, but it's not the same. It's a Hollywood movie franchise from the 80's with a big time star Bill Murray. Top of the A list. And a cartoon who's audience is now in the AFOL age. DW is a tv show from Britain. A strong devoted following, but not a Blockbuster like GB was. Like comparing Dolphins and Sharks. May easily be mistaken when you see that dorsal fin in the water, but an entirely different beast.

WW1 Heavy Howitzer by Karf Oohlu One interesting though altogether large concept might be to give each Batman their own small vignette area (maybe 8x8) representing a little of their respective timeframes such as Adam West's Batman would be a colorful section of the Batcave while Christian Bale's in a dark alley or something. Another idea might be to create Batman's hall of suits with each within a 'glass' stand and using either a clear or dark minifigure head.
