Finally got around to building this. Built it over the past 3 days. I was initially hesitant to build another technic set, and the look of the Porsche wasn't exciting for me. Glad I ended up building it, very fun, especially the first 2 boxes with the motor and chassis. Happy with final outcome, it was much larger than I anticipated. Included pic of the 24 hour race car for comparison. I do have a couple of criticisms. The gaps/holes in some areas take away the look of the car, and lastly, the Porsche sticker logo is disproportionately small. You can hardly see it!11 points

Now, I don't buy discontinued LEGO on Amazon, but I do buy a lot of stuff on amazon. the FIRST thing I do after EVERY search i conduct is click on the "Prime" filter. I only even want to LOOK at stuff that is covered by prime shipping, and ships from the Amazon warehouses. I won't even know some other seller-shipped option exists. I'm guessing there is a pretty significant number of people who do something similar to this.4 points

Yup! A .97 indicates final clearance and A .79 indicates a special price from the supplier. These were at 119.79 last week, and now they are 99.97, so it is safe say this set is at EOL3 points

I know that Bruce Wayne is minted but how does he manage to have so many cars and other devices designed, developed and built? It´s lile a one-man Tesla. Does he have to get them crash tested and do emissions controls to be able to use them on public roads? I figure he has isn´t paying his staff very well to compensate, that´s why Alfred is still working at the age of 85 and Robin and Batgirl don´t show up to work very often.3 points

If I wasn't a fan of LEGO's minidoll before, I would be now. Of course I will always prefer the classic minifigure but still I must admit these are done quite well. Inevitably I am afraid that we are left with but one question.... How many people are going to get bent out of shape over a bat vehicle in colors not black (or very, very, dark gray) and is so, well, pretty?3 points

Couple of recent builds. Claas Xerion was a great build apart from me missing a cog from the gearbox and having to tear it half apart again. At £80 it was probably the best value set I've built in a while in terms of build time and enjoyment. New RO At-St next to its big brother. I can see a lot of these being sold as they'll be coveted by OT AFOL's aswell as kids. Finally I gave one of the architecture skyline sets a shot. See what i thought of them and if they'll be worth investment. I just can't see how these will catch on. The buildings are so small to show any details. I love the normal architecture sets, I'm amazed how they can create detail at small scale but these skylines are simply too small, I can't see many people posting over the odds for a complete set.3 points

Neither do I. I don't have the time or the desire to do all that, but I've clearly given it a little thought2 points

Your numbers are great--I just don't live the QF life. Why? And that's why. I don't like the poison.2 points

I wouldn't get too hung up on this. Seems like some are just retail arbitragers that buy things (beyond lego) at discount and flip it for profit. That's a way different game, than holding sets well for the long term and then selling it at a much larger time period.2 points

Krypto! I love Krypto. I'm going to have to grab one for myself.2 points

One thing i'm noticing is that even though it is 2xVIP, sets aren't flying into OOS as fast as last year. Also the buying thread is starting to see occasional tumbleweeds blow through it. I think it's evident not as many people are as gungho about purchasing as last year, even with discounts. This could mean it will take longer for stock to dry out, and it could also trigger less production runs like previous years on sets that should be retiring, but lego decides to hold for a few more production runs because people aren't clearing them out instantly because resellers and the collectors sense retirement. This could be good or bad for those that do actually buy. It could mean that you might end up with stock in inventory that not as many have built up, or it could mean that legos days as a premium brand are beginning to wane, and the secondary market is contracting and retiring sets might not have decent resale potential.. Tricky times for many of us..2 points

Once again I have to mention that we are in the middle of the biggest SW hype since years. There's still 5 more movies to come. You can be sure that they have sold a ton more SW sets than in the past few years. I think they are definitely keeping more Star Wars sets in production than usual and they will try to keep it that way for as long as they can. I really think you cannot apply the old retirement patterns in this case. Whether or not this is a good idea is another question entirely. Retail cannibalism is already happening. How many TIE's are there available again? Want another copy of that X-Wing in a different color? The fact that they are keeping sets like the Flash Speeder and the Imperial Assault Carrier in production is mind boggling to me as well. I think some sets will retire at the end of the year, but it won't be nearly as much as people expect. I wouldn't be surprised if no UCS sets retire at all.2 points

Harry Potter sets off Craigslist. Diagon Alley 10217Hogwarts Express 4841Hogwarts Castle 4842The Burrow 4840Forbidden Forest 4865Hagrid's Hut 4738Quidditch Match 4737 No instructions, and I know they aren't all 100% complete (smaller accessories, I know the burrow is missing the top tower). There are a number of missing figures I'll eventually replace, but I'm happy with the deal. I was originally going to pick up two of the more complete sets, but the person asked if I would take them all off their hands for $450. The lot calculator placed them in the upper $800 range.2 points

Official pics just released on official uk Facebook site Arkyum asylum looks great. Bat boat from the batcave set looks good. Looks like they're focusing on playsets. Wonder if the classics 60s batcave could be a candidate for early retirement given the batcave set.2 points

LEGO has officially revealed the DC Superhero Girls line of sets. The first six sets will be available on November 27, 2016 (Cyber Monday). The sets are: 41230 - Batgirl's Batjet 41231 - Harley Quinn's Cafe Rescue 41232 - Super Hero High School 41233 - Lashina's Action Rider 41234 - Bumblebee's Helicopter 41235 - Wonder Woman's Dorm Only the first three sets have been revealed so far, with the other sets expected to be on display at NYCC this weekend. In the words of my 8 year old daughter (who saw this pics this morning), "OMG I WANT THEM ALL!" LEGO, looks like you've done it right.2 points

This has been a very slow build with the kids (really my 7 yr old son) being back in school with common core homework and my job. Then sprinkle in the NFL season Anyway, we finished bags 7-10 since the last post here. We're getting near the finish line. The interior has been a great build experience for my son. He enjoyed building the pool table, beds and the lab. So far Slimmer and the Ghost Librarian are by far his fav mini-figs. The daughter likes putting the 2 recent TRU Disney Princess Beauty & the Beast builds in the Firehouse.2 points

Also alot of sellers won't even care about the long term fees. As long as the entire operation is net profitable overall then those fees are just another tax deduction. Depending on your business model it may not be worth your time removing and then resending the inventory. That ship has sailed. Anyone new can't sell lego and those who are just doing FBM will most likely stay in their comfort zone. Those few who do try FBA will have done so on their own anyway. Now that the gate is up I keep Fight Club for the buying side of things.1 point
