This is a pretty cool build so far. It's a perfect Halloween set and should appeal to many AFOLs and KFOLs long after retirement (not just GB fans). The kids and I began last week. We nearly finished bags 1-6 (20 bags). We're up to the step of building the arcade game. Like the Cafe Corner, it utilizes 2 rows of bricks for sides (exterior and interior). Well, 3 of 4 sides while CC used that for all sides9 points

Built the UCS Tie the last couple nights... I have to say, what a fantastically repetitive build. My fingers are sore, the instructions were hard to read, but who ever designed this thing did an awesome job. Solid, detailed, HUGE but seemingly in scale with the Xwing. One complaint... Stickers. Why oh why do they make complicated stickers? I think I got them on OK but that stupid little red down arrow sticker might have been the WORST placed sticker ever. Makes the Maersk stickers seem easy.6 points

Free $2 SYWR Instant Points for Kenmore Chest Freezer Instant Win Game No purchase necessary and you don't have to win to get it. A couple of questions, a few clicks. Log out and back in to see $2 in points. Points expire in two weeks. Of course stuff like this is YMMV. http://www.shopyourway.com/app/2/l/instantwin/kenmore-chest-freezer-instant-win/428754 points

I just requested a cancellation on the Technic Bucket Wheel @ Walmart since it's been stuck at Processing status for 2 days. Guess what, five minutes after I requested a cancellation, I received an e-mail notification telling me the product has been shipped with tracking. I guess this is one way to speed up the order processing.3 points

I'm sure the supplemental income they received from hosting weddings in the parking lots is what is keeping them open.3 points

Yeah, sorry. I got behind and gave up. Maybe that's what happened with the Designers.3 points

I think it depends a lot on where you are located and what the market conditions are. For example, in The Netherlands the Ideas Ecto-1 set is not sold in any regular toy store which sells Lego. According to Brickwatch this set hasn't even been sold below RRP anywhere here. And auctions on Marktplaats regularly run up to €50 for a NISB set. Which is rather funny when people could alternatively buy it for €49,99 through LEGO Shop at Home and get VIP points for it as well!3 points

For me that's the one set I refuse to touch. People are sat on absolute stacks of them, constantly discounted and probably the only first wave TFA set that won't retire at year end. When it does retire you've probably got a maximum of two years before re-release in which you've got to hope the horde isn't a bunch of undercutters who keep the price low. As Exciter1 says at decent discounts the risk is reduced. If unpopular sets only get back to RRP I'm not losing money, if they don't stay at rrp there's still part out value. There is method in my madness but it'll be a few years before I know how my alternate strategy works out.3 points

Mega Bloks TechnoDrome was better than anything that TLG did with the TMNT franchise.3 points

I, personally, do not like sorting brick by color. Seems intuitive, but look back to a box of uni color brick, especially black, and try to find the piece you want. A major pain. I categorize mine in a rush. And then later, if necessary, separate by type. Make a simple system, be consistent and you can find whatever you need pretty easily. Sorting by color is easy for separating, but a sin for fulfilling.3 points

I completely disregarded this set at first, I had no interest in ninjago, neither did my son which surprised me as he like most cartoons!! But then I saw it in the flesh in my local store and then realised how beautiful it was, even my wife said "oh that one looks cool"!! So for me I just took the fact it was a Ninjago set out of the equation and enjoyed building a Japanese type building, which will one day fit into my modular city once I find some more room!!!3 points

It will probably be a Christmas gift for my brother. He's studying Mechanical Engineering and has been eyeing the set.2 points

What others reported a while back is that first they ask you to switch to pro, and once you do that they show the documentation and $1k fee requirement.2 points

Lol at this point they are just trolling: "You have to take chances when you can. You have to create the best model possible. Who knows if or when there will be another LEGO Death Star model?" If you leave out the second sentence it applies perfectly to LEGO investors2 points

go with seasonal sets like SW instead , saw some fresh 34R6 of those today to go with the last weeks 32R6 Ectos. Glad to see SW will make a full run through the holidays, they were starting to get scarce...2 points
