Hi guys, I have just finished another micro landscape in time for the Battlefront Death Star DLC. I wanted to do something different from some of the other trench run mocs I have seen and so I chose the moment Han comes to Luke's rescue and shoots down one of the tie fighters. I really like the drama in this scene and Im really happy with the way it has turned out. The inspiration for Luke's Xwing and Vader's tie came from a post by 'BEAVeR' (http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=84301) however I really wanted to get R2 in this scene and so instead of a 1x2 white tile for the nose I went for a 1x1 and added a 1x1 blue stud to represent R2 behind the cockpit. Thanks goes to 'PRAITER YED' for the idea of using knifes as the wings cannons - I think they look really effective. Originally I used BEAVeR's design for Vaders Tie but it would've meant having to paint the shields black, which I wanted to avoid and also I didn't think it looked menacing enough so I simply turned the Tie fighters wings on their side. I think Vader's Tie has a real presence in this piece now and looks like the dangerous ship that it is! Finally for the Tie's cockpits I used an Arkenstone piece from The Hobbit sets, which almost looks as though it was specially designed for micro ties! I am really happy with this MOC and would love to get your opinions and as always any advice going forward for future MOCs! (Also would anyone be interested in seeing the design process? I have some pictures of various stages of the builds that people might find interesting?)14 points

Between the Vampire, Pilgrim, and this workshop, LEGO has finally figured out ways to keep the resellers from arm sweeping those seasonal sets. More for the general public. BRAVO!!!12 points

That is exactly what I'm talking about .. where are the internal LEGO review teams and what are they doing? Not only did they let go... - A pilgrim siting on a "pumpkin" with no stem (or does it), - The scariest giraffe ever, - Some scary little elves with hatchets. - Ass on Hoth with some glaring inconsistencies. (I know I'm missing others) But they also let 75159 through the review stages and into production. Someone needs to review the review team!5 points

Sold my creator townhouse 4954 for $180 on ebay, buy in was $40. Manuals, complete but no box. It was a great build and I was a little sorry to see it go but that's what we're here for...building and making money...so I got to do both...Tried to explain that concept to my 6 year old son...we need to understand that attachment should be kept at a minimum in the ultimate pursuit of profit. We also put a math lesson in there regarding $180 - $40 and fees and what not...good for everyone all around. This was probably the best buy I have had yet but on to the next4 points

Of course it's YMMV but it seems that Lego sets are counting the MSRP (or Kmart MSRP) for points back deals. Example - Passenger Train is $103.93 (>30%off) and bonus points include $15 in points for a $120 purchase. But Passenger Train at $104 with $23 back in points is a great deal. Other good deals: Cargo Train (so so) and City Square at 135-138 Train Station at $45 Changing seasons at $37 (always under $40 at Kmart) Corner Deli at $28 Deep Sea Sub at $29 Mystery Machine at $23 Garbage Truck at $13 and so on I saw some of the friends sets at 25% off in stores and the Hot Air Balloon as well Prison Island was down to $63 in store, so that's 30% off before magic.4 points

These are probably so bad, they won't need a 2nd run in 2017 and will still be stinking up the shelves.4 points

Bag 9 complete, can't recommend this set enough. Yes the turrets were slightly repetitive but this was to be expected, however really enjoyable never the less and really impressed with how it's taking shape.3 points

In Europe the Winter sets always get tagged Retired and are then brought back in the fall. Been this way since 2011.3 points

Thanks so much!So here are a couple of pictures of the design in progress. As you can see I first started off wanting this to be both sides of the trench but after thinking about it I felt it was going to look too cramped and so opted for a slice of trench instead. Also it was all light grey to begin with but I felt adding a bit of dark grey on the side would help to break it up a bit. I also widen the side of the trench to 5 studs rather than 4 and raised by an extra couple of levels too. This pic shows the initial design for the X-Wing - The nose was longer and sleeker but no R2 And I felt I couldnt do a MOC to tie in with the battlefront dlc, which has R2 as a playable character, and not have R2 so hence the use of the 1x1 tile and blue 1x1 stud in the final build. You can also see all the holes in the technic bricks that I eventually filled in. The greebling was a bit random but also I tried to make it feel as if it were something that would look right in the real world. For instance the pipes connect to wheels, sockets etc as if it were real industrial things (if that makes sense?!) FInally this pic shows the original Vader's Tie - originally I was going to paint the shields black to create the wings but I just felt it was a little small compared to everything else and especially after watching Rebels season 2 I felt Vader's tie needed to be beefier and a lot more menacing so changed the wings to whats in the final build.Last point is that you can see two ties flying in formation behind Vader but after a while I just felt it was the same thing I had seen before and so I added the action of the tie blowing up instead! I have loads more pics on my flickr page including some of the other micro mocs I have done as well! https://www.flickr.com/photos/145187758@N06/albums/72157670642069043/with/29716563075/3 points

What a lame combo. Why would you want a bunch of duplicate Palpatine, Luke and Vader minifigures. There's basically already a mini version of final duel in the death star.3 points

I miss the vignettes. These are awkward. awkward. That word looks strange written. Did I spell that correctly? Awkward3 points

Yes, prices on some items did fall and haven't recovered yet. Other items sold quickly and prices kept climbing. It's a bit of a game, really, and I'd sell those items you feel like are where you're ready to part with them. I've gambled selling earlier than the holidays and been both rewarded and burned, but I'd say sell when you can for the price you want instead of hoping for something better later. Later doesn't always happen. Just my philosophy.2 points
