Got a GBHQ used complete (&built) for $200 from a guy on Craigslist. Took me 2 hours to take it all apart! Keeping this one for myself. I also got one from someone about a month ago for $200 in sealed bags, but damaged box, so now I'll just transfer all those bags to this good condition box and sell that one at some point.7 points

(going to resurrect this one for @Darth_Raichu) So we built this set last week.... and although it's a wonderful looking set, it's a huge disappointment. 1) LOTS of stickers and some massive ones that are hard to get on without fingerprints. 2) LOTS of stickers and some massive and teenie tiny ones that are hard to place centered. 3) LOTS of stickers that the ink rubs off when you try to "eliminate" bubbles and the glassy effect when placing those transparent stickers. 4) LOTS of stickers next to studs (on those plate bricks with flat spots and then studs on the edges) that are almost impossible to smooth out. That being said... other problems: 1) The train bumpers/magnets are super flimsy and fall off. Other trains don't seem to suffer from this but those pieces are always falling off. 2) The train is WAY TOO LONG .. it's so much longer than other trains that it requires extra room to turn corners. The grills in the front stick out too far and the cars are wider than usual so they cut the corners waaay more than normal city trains. The length also creates a challenge to placing the train on the tracks... so many bricks are attached to the boogie plates & wheels that they sag and are hard to place (and then the bumpers fall off and you have to start over). 3) The sides have a 1x8 tile attached by a single stud... it's always falling off when the kids play with it (it's a kids toy, of course they play with it). 4) Motorizing it wasn't hard, but the "on/off" switch for the battery box requires removal of some parts to turn on/off. Much less convenient than other trains for kids. The conclusion? If you've still got one of these sealed.... it's a much better display piece than play piece!! What's with Maersk and stickers anyways?4 points

Something like that is a conceit of the corporation. It's a lot like insisting that everyone refer to Oreo brand cookies instead of Oreos or Band-Aid brand adhesive bandages instead of Band-Aids. Many people just take shortcuts in speech, For the majority of people, they simply don't care about the exact name of a thing when the pluralization of the brand name is recognizable enough for common conversations. Plus, it saves time and most people will trade proper for expedient. When I write an article, I always attempt to call them LEGO pieces, bricks, sets, etc but when I am asking my kids for the 10,000th time to clean up their mess, I tell them to clean up their LEGOs.3 points

I agree with you and I think that it's a tough call because every other set to have a huge flipping opportunity has been a relative dud after retirement2 points

You're too nice. Turn off best offer and price your items fairly. You'll make more $$$ and not feel so pressured by cheap buyers.2 points

Bad idea. You may save and get lucky on some but the ones that don't make it you will get negative feedback or bad reviews. Charge the correct amount for shipping in a bubble mailer. never had a problem shipping this way.2 points

Disney Store online coupon 20% off $75 or more SAVE20 today only. No deals today due to most sets priced around $5 more than RRP. However, IF Disney Store online should ever carry the Disney Castle AND depending on how much they price it above RRP, there may be a deal to be had some point down the road as they seem to run 20 - 25% off several times/year. Would be really sweet if they did price it at $349, but likely a bit higher.2 points

They should get this polybag designer to review all sets before being released. That's super.2 points

Don't understand that sentiment, unless you think other LEGO cars (Creator brand) are also overpriced. Mini is $100 (so 25% more), measures 1" less long, 1" less wide and only 1" taller ..... I'm guessing this set has right around 800 pieces (just looked it up, 773 so yes). Similar ppp ratio as Mini (give or take) which has 1077 pieces for $100 (okay, the extra pieces there are for the picnic basket - so perhaps $75 would have been the more comparable price). Still, I don't think this is much overpriced. Like it A LOT.2 points

Over the last two weeks, i've sold off 2 more AT-AT's a smidge over 140 + shipping. I have slowly leaked a few out about every 4 months from my stock. It's a game. I'm sitting on a little bit of stock left, and debating what I want to do with the last of them.... sell or keep... sell or keep. At-Act or no At-Act... ohh the horror. Regardless, so far every one has easily doubled my money so if they never make it to a complete triple, i'll be ok with that. Also, sold 2 Raptor Escapes for 110 +, Corporate Alliance Tank Droids for 45, Jedi Interceptors for 58, my last 9493 X-wing for 170. I also started blowing out about 20 single packed minifigures that I had laying around from Simpsons series 1 and onward. I kind of held off selling anything over the summer in prep for the coming months. Let the fun begin, I suppose. There are a few sets, i'm considering selling a little earlier than anticipated. One would be the T-16 skyhopper - with another Tusken Raider coming, this one's value could peak right now before falling 15 to 20.00. The others would be jabba themed sets. Especially the rancor pits, and Jabba's Sail Barges... I'm willing to keep my remaining Gunships from that year for the long haul, but those other 2013 wave sets - i'm not sure about holding them further beyond this year. Seems like they might start to go back into the jabba theme with the upcoming desert skiff. Wouldn't doubt if we see UCS JABBA'S PALACE, and it turns out to be just the Rancor Pit and Jabba's Palace pieced together with 4 new minifigures, and a new cheese slope ontop of Jabba's Hukka Pipe, while everything else in the set is the same.2 points

NINJAGO: General facts: New snake piece that is a bar wide and is S shaped. Kai and Nya's parentsSwamps, samurai, etcThe fusion suits are used.Collectables this time around are colored... things, I don't know how to describe them but they're small blades. Grey rocks built of the Galaxy Squad cocoons appear frequently The bad guys use Uruk-hai swords 70621 - A small tree build with one of those rocks on top that explodes and has snakes inside. Green blade included. 2 red Vermillion, and Kai.70622 - Two bikes. One, Jay's, is blue/dark blue, white dishes in the wheels, lighting coming off, and is awesome. Bike 2 has giant blades in the front. Think of a motorcycle, only the front wheel is angled upwards and is a track. Blue blade included, orange and red Vermillion, and snakes.70623 - Another, bigger, angled-track vehicle with blades in front. They're the Chima constraction blades but in lightish brown or sand red? Dual catapults on the back that launch more snake rocks. A small barricade included. Green blade, Zane, 2 Vermillion, and snakes!70624 - Awesome boat-like build. Imagine the Destiny's Bounty but without the giant sails and back area. In the back are two olive-green canoes! On the sides are red plastic wings. Also included is a Vermillion soldier on a hoverboard. Green blade, Lloyd, Cole, and a red Vermillion. More snakes!70625 - Small black, blue, tan, gold car with dual six-stud shooters in back. I can't make out if someone is driving the car. Red Medusa has a weird leg build with more of the new snake piece. Small build is some terrace that holds the blue blade. Nya, Medusa, and red Vermillion. Snakes!70626 - Giant snake thing, curves up into an S with a circle chest that holds all 4 blade pieces. Controlled by two Rogue guys with a spring-shooter eye. It's got arms too. It looks like it can pounce, there's a weird mechanic on the side. Also included is a tall swampy building, it's got wooden planks a prison for Wu (again!) and a small speedboat for Lloyd. Includes 2 Rogues, red Vermillion, Jay, Lloyd, and Sensei Wu. And snakes!!! 70627 - The blacksmith shop! Included a cool looking morphed red and blue dragon with two heads that both Kai and Nya ride on. Also included is a way smaller version of 70626 that uses the new snake piece a lot. Orange/yellow blade, Kai, Nya, their parents, and red and brown Vermillion2 points

Yeah I guess that's true I don't sell a lot on ebay anymore. Bricklink seems like a much better option to me personally. There's fees as well, but they are not nearly as high. Flipside is you don't get as much customers and the asking prices are lower. I do think something like Grand Emporium sells well pretty much anywhere.1 point
