Got a GBHQ used complete (&built) for $200 from a guy on Craigslist. Took me 2 hours to take it all apart! Keeping this one for myself. I also got one from someone about a month ago for $200 in sealed bags, but damaged box, so now I'll just transfer all those bags to this good condition box and sell that one at some point.5 points

I didn't post any drawings yet but EB banned them last year after I posted them. Apparently they're too close to the real thing and count as leaking5 points

@CM4Sci That is a pretty good drawing. I can see why the other site had problem with your drawings. We will keep your drawings up unless LEGO tells us to take them down.4 points

If they flipped over the image, they'd be able to see how to spell Maersk. What problem the other 5 misspelled listings have, beats me. [emoji848] LOL [emoji23]4 points

That's true.. .and the minifigures are another driving force on these little sets. But, now they are getting to the point where they are just rehashing old designs, and just tossing in a new minifigure.... It was one thing when the original Jabba's Palace was exceeded by the Jabba's Palace in 2013, as that one was a major upgrade. Or look at the differences between the two sandcrawlers, or even the differences in all the x-wings over the years. But, today, they aren't even trying to upgrade or do anything new. They are basically putting all their R&D in a few small pieces, a minor update of the vehicle, and new box art. That's it. It's not like how it was a few years ago when a lot of their stuff was new designs. Today it seems, they just have some marketing chick run down stairs, look at a bunch of finished sets from the past couple of years, and she then grabs the landspeeder from the cantina, goes down to the Death Star and grabs the new mini's of Obi, Luke and C3PO.. then runs and grabs the tusken raider from 2015, tosses them all in a box and calls it a new set. Kind of like how she also chose the death star set. The innovation, and interesting build techniques are just being diminished ever since Disney took over this theme. I smell the rat. Granted, I will give them some kudos on the Rogue One set designs, because at least there was something interesting there. I also felt the Freemaker Adventures set with Dengar had an interesting ship design, but overall....8 out of 10 sets from the past year and a half were mostly rehashes.4 points

4 bags in, really enjoying this build so far. Some great techniques used for the angled pillars, plus I really like the build of the grand father clock and vase.3 points

Something like that is a conceit of the corporation. It's a lot like insisting that everyone refer to Oreo brand cookies instead of Oreos or Band-Aid brand adhesive bandages instead of Band-Aids. Many people just take shortcuts in speech, For the majority of people, they simply don't care about the exact name of a thing when the pluralization of the brand name is recognizable enough for common conversations. Plus, it saves time and most people will trade proper for expedient. When I write an article, I always attempt to call them LEGO pieces, bricks, sets, etc but when I am asking my kids for the 10,000th time to clean up their mess, I tell them to clean up their LEGOs.3 points

My wife, who is finally starting to see my Lego hobby as something more than a precursor to some type of hoarding disease, was impressed that I had already sold the Disney Castle and several of the freebies, ~$150 profit after fees, in less than 24 hours from purchase. So when I joked about there being one more Day of the Star Wars celebration, she kind of liked the idea. So, after much deliberation, we went back. Scored well on all fronts except the TC-14s, which they were out of. But we made up for it. Here's today's haul: The TC-14s were the prize for a scavenger hunt, so I requested more A-wing pilots, which were the give always to annual pass members. I noticed that the emoloyees has the A wing pilots on their badges, so I traded the three junk figs we brought for brand new Pilots (my son kept one). Then my wife had the brilliant idea to buy some cheap minifigs and trade them. So I bought a 4-pack of Nexo Knights for $13.50 (plus the other stuff to get the free general), kept the accessories and traded them for four more Pilots. I love that woman. This time when we bought the castle the sales guy only gave us one general, so my wife stepped in, got the manager who was literally like 'how many do I have to give you to make you happy?' I said 3 my wife said 4, we left with 5.3 points

NINJAGO: General facts: New snake piece that is a bar wide and is S shaped. Kai and Nya's parentsSwamps, samurai, etcThe fusion suits are used.Collectables this time around are colored... things, I don't know how to describe them but they're small blades. Grey rocks built of the Galaxy Squad cocoons appear frequently The bad guys use Uruk-hai swords 70621 - A small tree build with one of those rocks on top that explodes and has snakes inside. Green blade included. 2 red Vermillion, and Kai.70622 - Two bikes. One, Jay's, is blue/dark blue, white dishes in the wheels, lighting coming off, and is awesome. Bike 2 has giant blades in the front. Think of a motorcycle, only the front wheel is angled upwards and is a track. Blue blade included, orange and red Vermillion, and snakes.70623 - Another, bigger, angled-track vehicle with blades in front. They're the Chima constraction blades but in lightish brown or sand red? Dual catapults on the back that launch more snake rocks. A small barricade included. Green blade, Zane, 2 Vermillion, and snakes!70624 - Awesome boat-like build. Imagine the Destiny's Bounty but without the giant sails and back area. In the back are two olive-green canoes! On the sides are red plastic wings. Also included is a Vermillion soldier on a hoverboard. Green blade, Lloyd, Cole, and a red Vermillion. More snakes!70625 - Small black, blue, tan, gold car with dual six-stud shooters in back. I can't make out if someone is driving the car. Red Medusa has a weird leg build with more of the new snake piece. Small build is some terrace that holds the blue blade. Nya, Medusa, and red Vermillion. Snakes!70626 - Giant snake thing, curves up into an S with a circle chest that holds all 4 blade pieces. Controlled by two Rogue guys with a spring-shooter eye. It's got arms too. It looks like it can pounce, there's a weird mechanic on the side. Also included is a tall swampy building, it's got wooden planks a prison for Wu (again!) and a small speedboat for Lloyd. Includes 2 Rogues, red Vermillion, Jay, Lloyd, and Sensei Wu. And snakes!!! 70627 - The blacksmith shop! Included a cool looking morphed red and blue dragon with two heads that both Kai and Nya ride on. Also included is a way smaller version of 70626 that uses the new snake piece a lot. Orange/yellow blade, Kai, Nya, their parents, and red and brown Vermillion2 points

The new rules are that you can't submit copyrighted material if an Ideas set has already been released within the license, which means cars are fine on Ideas, except for Caterham, since one is about to get released, all other makes are fair game. They want to avoid low effort piggy-backing.2 points

There's so many helpful resources on here is can be difficult to know where to start! In the end you're best to put on a pot of hot cofee and hit the boards for the knowledge (as everyone's said it a case of just jumping in and reading). A good general thread I'd recommend for all geographies are the "Lessons learned thread": Trust me - we're all going to make the same mistakes and this is a great source of "ohhhh... thats so obvious.... but exactly what I've just done!". Some good advice there so I'd take a look. And also the "what did you buy/sell today" gives a good idea of what people are stocking up on and what is selling well. There is plenty of help out here but as others have said this question is just a bit too vague. Or there's this thread which I've found very helpful in the past: Also the blogs - i cant speak highly enough of these. Some real effort goes into them and its really good reading. Especially the old ones on sets no longer available. The market for Lego investing has changed so take with a pinch of salt but you don't get the distractions that some of the threads have when they go OT. Even some back from 2013 make good reads and the insight in them there as you can compare it to what actually happened with the sets mentioned. I won't list all the great ones here (as i may as well just link to the blog home page) but this is a good one to read on the kind of things you might hear on the site: And I'll also say why limit yourself to new sets? Just want to throw it out there that there's potential profit in already retired sets. Welcome to the site and definitely let us know how you get on2 points

In the last 20 hours I built the remainder of 6 sets. From those sets I only kept the parts I like while the other stuff will be sold or is already gone. 76046 Heroes of Justice: Sky High Battle: The helicopter looks bulky but contains some nice green parts. 76026 Gorilla Grodd goes Bananas: I love the small transporter and Wonder Woman's invisible plane is nice model with all those clear pieces. 76025 Green Lantern vs. Sinestro: The set contains no stickers and the spaceship looks amazing. Great selection of parts in four different shades of green. 76050 Crossbones' Hazard Heist: Some great parts in dark orange plus other useful stuff like window frames, fence pieces and so on. 76041 The Hydra Fortress Smash: Some useful bricks and pieces... and I really wanted Quicksilver. 76058 Spider-Man: Ghost Rider Team-Up: The street corner is nice and the construction of Ghostrider's bike was a lot more interesting than I anticipated.2 points
