Hi there guys, so I have finished another micro lansdcape moc. This time its the forest moon of Endor. I have tried to keep everything on a 16x16 base in keeping with my other micro landscapes. Does it look too packed though?I have been inspired by a few mocs already out there (2muchcaffine and sarah von noppenquader) but added a few elements of my own.Lego Micro Moc - Endor byI have built my shuttle in 'flight mode' as if it is taking off from the platform (with Luke and Vader on board!) However the wings do fold down and it fits onto the platform if I wanted to. I just prefer the composition of the piece with the shuttle higher up.This was actually a lot trickier than I thought it would be and this micro moc has gone through a lot of rebuilds to get it to a stage that I am happy with.Anyway as always would be great to know your thoughts and any advice, thanks!

My son enjoys playing with our western scene and I tore it down a while ago….but, finally put back the scene using my own mods, others designs (some stuff I'm just not creative enough) and Lego sets that were previously produced (western sets from the 90’s and Lone Ranger, etc). Some of you have seen my posting of the train station previously… but, in the town is the older sets of 6755 Sherriff Lock-up and 6765 Gold City Junction, as well as a modified 7594 Woody’s Roundup (now the hotel/saloon), the barn from 7189 Mill Village Raid, a 79108 Lone Ranger Stagecoach and a modified version of the 79111 Constitution Train with Power Functions. Eventually, I would like to modify a 79109 Colby City Showdown, as I like the design and color of the bank. I think it would look nicer than the 90’s version (set 6765).

Finished building a set I wanted for a long time: I Bricklinked this one last year and just now had time to put it together. Out of 2767 pieces, that I have carefully counted multiple times, I was still missing two. I could tell I messed up the inventory somewhere because I had one extra tan 1x8 brick (missing a 1x6) and one extra 1x1 white plate (missing a 1x1 white cheese wedge, insert DS joke here). Will check inventory and put them into the model. Next is to figure out whether I want to keep it or sell it.

Couple months ago I posted the below beetle image, just found the second one that sooooo goes with it.

After much deliberation I finally decided to bite the bullet and bricklink myself a batpod!! Luckily one seller had the majority of the parts so in total it costs £130. The build was mainly technic which in all honesty isn't really my cup of tea however the outcome was great and it looks fantastic next to my tumbler!! Enjoy the pics...

I know this one won't receive many if any likes but I purchased a Simpsons house today, I already have one in my personal collection along side my Kwick-e-Mart so purchased this for 'investment'. £135 after online discount and TRU gift cards. I know the minifigs haven't performed well but I loved building this set and I think it looks great on display, plus I'd kick myself if it did do well after EOL. I figure that there will always be adult Simpsons fans out there and I don't predict a remake on the horizon so I took a punt. Decent enough discount for an exclusive so I'll just have to wait and see.

My first post. I'm new at this and more of a collector buying the sets that my kids and I like. Today I got sucked into the 20% off Star Wars sets at Toys R Us. Walked out with 75096 - Sith Infiltrator, 75142 - Homing Spider Droid, 75137 - Carbon-Freezing Chamber, 75092 - Naboo Starfighter, and 75140 - Resistance Troop Transporter. Then went to Target because they had 75139 - Battle on Takodana for less. While I was there I saw that they had the 75917 - Raptor Rampage on clearance for $34.98, so I went ahead an picked it up. I guess I have taken care of upcoming birthdays and Christmas. I need to cool my jets after getting the Disney Castle last weekend. Thanks for all the information and insight.

Some updates to LEGO Ideas have been posted. The most interesting bit in my opinion is this part: "Changes to Supporter Milestones and Targets The biggest change is a Guidelines update we’ve applied to all projects starting today. We’re attempting to balance making LEGO Ideas as open as possible to members with a range of skill levels, with peoples’ desire to browse and support beautifully presented models. We consistently hear from people who want to see more projects they think are “high quality” and fewer they think are “low quality.” We say think, because quality is highly subjective. This feedback persists even when our moderators filter out the majority of submissions for not meeting our Project Quality Standards. The most successful Ideas projects—those that reach 5,000 and 10,000 supporters—share one thing in common: every one of these projects posted since LEGO Ideas launched in April 2014 reached 100 supporters in their first 30 days. No project that has gone on to reach 5k or 10k supporters has taken longer. It could very well be that the “wisdom of crowds” is the best quality filter of all. I loved building Palace cinema even though Creator buildings had never really interested me when I came back out of the dark ages. Originally bought a few as investments when they were on offer but I ran out of things to build so opened one thinking same as you with regards to changing out posters. I actually am really impressed with some of the ideas they come up with to represent things on a small scale. Inevitably that has led to buying more Creator buildings, I've just finished the Pet Shop and intend to buy the rest of the current line now although I'm not paying over the odds to delve into the back catalog. PR next i think as the next oldest set still available. I really want to build Brick Bank but logic says i should leave that until last.

yeah but that's not giving a newbie hope when there is no chance they will be able to sell on amazon given the turn of events of the last month. not to rain on the parade but in the last month Amazon has put up essentially impenetrable barriers for new LEGO sellers. this limits your options to selling (which is the more important, harder part of investing) to ebay, craigslist, and facebook groups. maybe a few other places too but all of these markets combined likely will be less than a quarter of what moves on amazon. Also amazon commands a price premium that makes it easier to profit. With ebay, you can also do well but you will have to wait longer for the price to rise to a level seen on amazon (if it ever does). My advice for a newbie would be to buy 1 or 2 sets that you like with the intent of building 1 and saving one to sell. I have to believe there are many brickpickers who are silently agonizing over being gated out of amazon while sitting on thousands of dollars of inventory that they must now move through another market which is much much smaller and less lucrative.

Bought a used 10221 Imperial Shuttle for £300. Bricks in very good condition, including box and manuals, which are also in very good condition. No mini figures though, but I can live with that since not a big mini-figure fan.

I'd be willing to pick up the Ninjago at $2.50, because they'd make great gifts. One of my local Walmarts actually has the Macy's for $5. They've been peg warmers for a couple of weeks. No one seems to be biting even at $5, even in SoCal.

You might want to read the forums a little deeper. There are certain threads here that paint a different picture for LEGO investing and it's future opportunities.

Yes, sir. I'm expecting big things out of this set once retired, especially at a $10 buy in. Also, it was my poker table, although in my younger, single days it also doubled as my dining room table...lol.

I've started my first MOC recently, a landscape for displaying the Christmas sets. Going to be 2 48-stud baseplates wide said and done. I decided against trying to plan too extensively in LDD or another program; I've used them before and the time it takes me there vs. the time it would take just figuring it out with real bricks wasn't worth it. This build is more intentionally improvised / freestyle than it is planned. So, I've bought a ton of basic white bricks and plates, to start doing the rough shape. I'm currently working out how to do a "mountain" or ski-slope and have a few ideas I'm trying using spare parts of any color I have in hand before buying bulk in the color I need (white). Will likely end up going through BrickLink for most of those and buying very large quantities. Keep the leftovers for future MOCs. Final pass will be for tiles and pieces I'll use to create trees and other accents. Basically, my approach on this project is pretty much unplanned in terms of how many of each part I'll need. I have an idea of what the finished product should look like, and I know what colors I'll need. From there I'm buying large quantities of pieces I know I'll need and any leftovers are just for future projects. Not the most efficient in terms of costs, but the trade-off is less time/energy put into planning and more into just building the damned thing and figuring out what works. If it was a more "precise" build I'd be more open to prototyping sections with bricks, then planning more in a Lego design tool.
