  1. That lady should be running a LEGO store. She knows how to sell.

  3. Are you really still here? Why don't you write what I really said? I said it could be $1500 set or. $600 set, it all depends on the remake. You are such an ass.

  4. Picked this up last January. Finally opened it up and built it last night and today. I have a bunch of similar colours in my parts bin, thinking I might MOC up a bit more of a scene and move it to a shelf. Love the style and colours, rather disappointed I missed on this theme when it was around at retail.

  5. Here's the thing... for me to buy at retail price--because let's be honest, I can't conjure 30% off magic on a big set like this unlike other members--I would have to sell it for ~$750 to achieve the profit margin I seek. I can get to that margin faster with small sets. Yes, it's more "work" to sell many small sets in place of one big one, but the times they are a'changin', and no one wants to stare at a big, beautiful SW exclusive gathering dust for years. I have one packed away for me when the time comes, but none as "investments." Stay nimble and stay alive. It's my strategy and I don't expect it to work for everyone.

  7. In that case, we'll definitely need to do a cover of Tommy Tutone's "Jenny." D-S-7-5-1-5-9 Would seem appropriate since (1) if the writing was in fact on the wall for this remake, it was on a bathroom stall, and (2) the design and/or marketing team was likely in the bathroom when they hatched this remake... BTW, first post. Really enjoy the site. Lots of good info and you all crack me up.

  8. This is hysterical to me. My takeaway, in case you didn't know, there's a new one coming out and if you look into it, you can save yourself some grief by waiting.

  10. Wow. I thought it was more obvious. My entire post was a direct quote from The Godfather. I guess no one has a classical education these days.

  11. Even though I've been waiting to crack open Cinda's castle, tonight I was watching the dark knight, and thought to myself, it's about time I crack one of my tumblers open, they aren't making any money at the moment so I might aswell get some enjoyment out of it!! Book 1 finished tonight, relatively complex build but very enjoyable so far!!

  20. To be fair, they had to add the cheese slope to bring the DS up to code. We don't want any minifigs stubbing their... toes... on a bare stud.

  24. Folks, I hate to break it to you, but the sky ain't falling and the four horsemen of the Lego investing apocalypse aren't charging down the road. DS is one set. If you're so weak in the knees that a single set is going to do something you didn't expect, you should head for the exit and forget about ever wearing big boy pants. In the grand scheme of things, DS is a blip.

  26. I was looking through the reviews for 10249 and saw a LEGO rep actually responded to one of the many negative comments regarding the reissue of the Toy Shop. The reviewer, like many, was disappointed at LEGO for not being creative enough to release a new set for their Christmas village. Here is the response: Response from LEGO:By Jordan - Core Product Specialist, Consumer Services, October 1, 2015 It is obvious from your review and those that came before you that the Winter Village collection has a very passionate fan base. It was definitely not the intention of the designers to disappoint our loyal builders who have been with us since the beginning. After many tough conversations it was decided that we wanted to give all of our builders an opportunity to purchase the amazing Winter Toy Shop. While some builders were lucky enough the get this set in 2009 we have found that most families did not realize that this would become an annual tradition and missed this amazing set. With our designers having so many creative ideas for new and amazing Winter Village sets it was difficult to hold the reigns and re-release this set but it is in the interest of many of our younger builders and their families to make this happen. To our loyal Winter Village builders, like yourself, we hear you and understand how frustrating this experience has been. It is through situations like this that we learn more about our builders and their expectations. Can't wait for the response to the reviews of 75159.

  29. I can't wait to see the designer video. I think it will be done by 2 people: The designer who is awkwardly trying to muster up every ounce of enthusiasm about his improvements. And the overly enthusiastic graphic designer who points out every single minute new print on the minifigs and the new accessories.

  30. How dare people on this forum disagree with my opinion and also claim to be the smarter than me I must argue with them everywhere and never read the comments they put unless replying sarcastically or placing a meme .

  31. First line - Yes, from the perspective of the ridiculous. Second line - Than you should certainly already know that I am correct. Third line - You are clearly the most brilliant person I have ever met. (I would state sarcasm, but I will assume that your gifted insight will allow you to read into that).

  33. Sure, I agree, we all are making money on them.. But i'm not talking about last year, or the present. I'm thinking ahead here. Not in the now, but in a few years... Slave 1 will be so overly hoarded and while it's a great set, it's going to have a few thousand resellers holding it to start. I like the Sandcrawler, but slowly it's getting hoarded. If it goes past this year, forget it. It will have more than 200 people selling it at the base when it goes EOL, and that's just at the surface, because there will be thousands of others that have it waiting to list it at some other point... Ewok Village is already sitting at 150 some sellers on amazon. If it does go EOL this year, it's going to be like so many sets last year, and maybe even worse, and will not be profitable for all but those that used a lot of points, and bought at a discount. When sets get that high in the number of sellers that have them, just like last year, they don't move and sit at basically a few profit margin above RRP for what's going to seem like years.. . There's so many others anymore. At that point, it's just volume that will win the game. Last year, the AT-AT's, Cantinas, and ISD's were a bit of a "surprise retirement" so many didn't stock those in time. This year, I don't see that as much. Already, there are more IST's than there were AT-AT's and ISD's this phase in the game. Just sayin'... I agree, that buying at walmart's 50% discount is an easy way to make decent money. And that's going to be about the only way to do it at this point.

  37. I built the 10252 Limited Edition VW Beetle one-two weeks ago and I have enclosed a picture below. I am willing to sell this set for $150US because it's an extremely limited edition and this set is only available if you have the unique knowledge or contacts of the Lego design team. Photo: . . . . . . . . . . . . . Ok, it's just a 10252 Beetle with three extra cheese slopes: Two "speed holes" on the front hood and one on the back.
