For some reason I find it funny that both sets you listed are remakes.15 points

Couple days ago @Elkkthunder posted info about estate sale near by (thank you, thank you, thank you), with some help from @Sfcommando14 (my man ) I was able to go there this morning. Sale started at 9am, they were handing out numbers prior to that, that determined in what order people could enter, I was number 2, not bad right? Well, guy with number 1 was wearing....a Lego t-shirt....damn I thought.... anyway, he goes in first, me right behind him, both of us straight to the Lego table, but he doesn't grab the best things.....he just looked at some Lego train tracks, stated that he has thousands of Lego (whatever) and moved on... So here is what I grabbed, for a total of $263, all sets almost complete, very little needed, all instruction are there too, plus few zip lock bags:11 points

So I recently build 42056 (Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS) and added lights. There has been ongoing discussion as well on eurobricks on how to improve the set, and I have been involved and took many of those recommendations and implemented them. A full read, with pics and video can be found here: http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/431720 But quickly here are some teaser pics. Overall, happy with the way things turned out.11 points

I think this is part of the problem we face. Lego is now overproducing too much. Add in that most sets are just minor refreshes of older sets, and its making me really stop and pause and think about what i'm doing. At this phase i'm starting to think it's a fools game to invest so heavily in so many sets that will just have a minor refresh.4 points

I use different lighting elements from a place called Lifelites.com. It is owned/run by a gentleman named Rob and I believe they are out of Arkansas. I like to use battery packs (with on/off switches) and half the battle is trying to find a place to put them or hide them. In this build I hid two battery packs with the wiring in each tower, and then I hid the third in the support section under the bridge. For the actual lights I use technic bricks with technic pins to shine the light in the direction that I want. Lastly, the lamp posts are a kit found at Lifelites. It has a battery and a switch on the bottom of the post that can fit inside a Lego piece. The downside to the lamp is that it is not very powerful and does not last long or very bright. I have done a lot of reading and experimenting on how to do lighting in the past to try to get it right, and I am still learning. Hope this helps...See pictures below.4 points

If the set is a duplicate of the 10188 with a few tweaks, a $499.00 price tag will be a major issue. Even at $399.00, many LEGO fans are apathetic to the 10188 after almost a decade on the shelves. If it is not special, it will be a failure IMO and will be gone in a few years.4 points

Take a look at the price evolution of 10197 FB and10211 GE, consider how long each set was out for and how many investors/buyers were in the market and you will probably be able to draw your own conclusions.4 points

I'm getting soft in my old age. Just turned the big 4-0. I only took two banana dudes today and left the rest (at least three for my new friend, Timothy). I even helped out a kid find the penguin suit kiddo. Man, I was ruthless with hot dog guy.3 points

Seems to have sold out at this price on Amazon, but just got an email from Walmart: 42043 Technic Mercedes AROCS for $178.24 (22% off).2 points

The amount of screen time Vader gets will probably be a key factor. If it´s like Luke in TFA then a lot of people are going to be disappointed.2 points

They are not blocked by the register. They can't put them out untill the 17th but you can get them from the back if manager is willing. Last time I remember doing that was Simpson House.2 points

So I managed to get the lego porsche on release date, however after seeing all the reviews decided to sell it. Using the money I bought 2 technic sets which are defintly in my top 5 favorite lego sets. Managed to get them both in used condition for £265, just £15 over RRP of the Porsche. 8480: Space Shuttle 8275: Motorized Bulldozer2 points

200+ !?! I'm a newbie (20+ purchases) and they call me "royal customer". You must have attained the rank of "divine customer". lolz.2 points

So I didn't get around to a pic yet button I did get the Statue of Liberty for 700. It is the first edition one black and white box, and they started to build it- got about 1/4 the way through. The rest of the bricks are either in ziplock bags or the original plastic mesh bags. Instructions are in nice shape but wow are they hard to follow. Still working on other builds, so this one may need to wait until the fall. The good news is that it is heavy- which leads me to believe it is complete. Coupled with the fact that evrwything is is in such good condition, I like my chances.2 points

Everyone assumes they're getting a BIGGER and BETTER and IMPROVED Death Star for their hard earned $499. Not so fast my friend. Least we forget, this is 2016, the theme of which has been 20% less set for 20% more price.2 points

Finished up my BB-8, a slightly different take than the one that @Locutus001 did about a month ago. I did bricklink the stand from his build because I like having the option to display it with the stand or without. Comparing the two, the biggest difference is in BB-8's head, though there are differences in the body as well. Definitely a fun little build, and it displays great. It was my first BL project, so that made it fun as well.2 points

Here in the US they are still quite common on store shelves at Barnes & Noble, and Books-A-Million. I thought about it, then left 3 on the shelf at a store last week. I even had a coupon for $5 or $10 off or something. If I didn't have any, I woulda bought, but I already have plenty of these. Judging by the long shelf-time, I'm not convinced of a "bright future" for this set (here in the US). As they always say, you probably "won't lose money"... but my goals are higher than that.1 point

Love this set (and it looks to be complete) - The question is how would someone get to this building point and then just stop? I might suggest going back a few pages (to check the accuracy of their build) - sometimes people will realize that they made an error, get frustrated, and then stop (best to know that now rather than later).1 point

It really is amazing on how the people view things differently and thats good, it's what makes the world an interesting place at times. This trailer changed my view of the movie in a much better way. I like what I see and hope that it continues in this direction.1 point

After stuff went on sale today and VIP points to burn after 2X last weekend, I now have more buses on the way. I might have to make Big Ben the transit authority for LEGO City.1 point

I built the Marvel Helicarrier today...just an amazing build. I'm so glad I broke one open to build it.1 point

Picked this up to get some minifigures to fill out my town. I'm not too impressed at $40. I really like the baby and wheelchair, the rest is pretty plain. What can I do with only one section of fence? I threw the park together but it's just a placeholder, the brick bank will go on that corner eventually.1 point
