I'm passing through "Buckwild" country today. Kmart has added some LEGO stuff to this clearance round. I'll add them in the KMart thread later. Picked up all these for $180 out the door after coupons and 20% off clearance. They must have found some Mixels Series 2 in the back, picked up a dozen. They rang up $3.44 each.6 points

I'm banking on a shortage this holiday season and they'll be desperate for any Death Star they can get their hands on.6 points

This set will be out longer than any other set in Lego history, so long as Lego keeps a Disney license this set will not retire.4 points

FedEx sucks. Ordered a new laptop, was expecting it today. Been home all day, go outside and find a note taped to the gate of the chain-length fence that surrounds my yard. "We tried to deliver a shipment. We'll return by 4:30 tomorrow." All they had to do was just go through the gate, walk 30 ft and knock on the door! But nooooo, they see cars in the driveway, "hmm I'll just walk to the gate and leave"3 points

I did a Beetle for one order and the Vacation RV and a $6 Princess thing to get a bus and an Olaf, like $75.xx3 points

For personal build, I was going to grab the VW Beetle. If I was going more expensive, then I would have gone with the Brick Bank. Investment-wise, I'd be trying to get as near $75 as possible for an exclusive, so I'd go with Minis, or Beetles or something else similar in price.3 points

Depends on the set. Some sets don't hurt ya too bad going coast to coast. Others cut into your margins big time. Best way to learn is through experience. It will cost you a few bucks but the knowledge gained will pay you back with dividends.3 points

10232 palace cinema with London bus promo I like the guy in stained wife-beater3 points

Lego Beetle plus the Mini Bus promo, then the Killer Croc set plus another Mini Bus. Selling off the 2 Mini Buses and all the vehicles in the Killer Croc set and just keeping the Minifigs (and Red Hood's Bike). Once I get the Ra's Al Ghul set I can have the full swath of Robins, past and present!3 points

^ At this point in your game, I'd certainly be seeking out Calculated Shipping. I was starting out a year ago, and have used Calculated shipping for just about everything. I've made ~125 sales or so. Things definitely still sell. If you're selling smaller sealed sets, and have planned properly by reading these forums, you'll already have the boxes you're using to ship with. Measure one for parcel dimensions, then simulate a finished parcel (packing materials etc) with each set you're selling and weigh them... record it with your dimensions. Then just plug that info into the shipping information when you post or edit your listing. Like Phil said, a little bit more work up front, but work you'd end up doing at the point of sale anyway (to print your shipping label). If you're making ~$40 sales, and paying ~$50 to ship to the other side of the country.... even if you acquired those sets for free, you're not eating into your profits man, you're eating into your original capital. Pretty sure that's bad for business. Calculated Shipping ftw.2 points

Well, if you can live without the minis, I think we need to talk... Bought a London Bus promo on eBay. Noticed it was a race to the bottom. Found a BIN with OBO. Got it for $20, and used the $5 in eBay Bucks that were expiring tomorrow. Math worked out much better than buying $75 in non-exclusives without a discount.2 points

That miniseries made the Jedi in AotC feeble in comparison. Not sure why they needed the clones at all. Mace single handedly destroyed a batallion of battle droids.2 points

Meh. maybe more canon but nowhere near as good as the 2003 Clone Wars miniseries.2 points

I think a few things are at play. The Rogue one movie is a stand-alone but the center of the movie is the Death Star and the plans around it. Even if no one remembers that movie they will remember the iconic look up the Death Star and everything surrounding it. The other thing at play is the fact that this takes us back to the original Star Wars movie. This will pull at the heartstrings of the older fans of Lego right around the holiday season corresponding with the time that this set comes out. Everyone will flock to get their hands on a Death Star as Star Wars frenzy picks up again during the holidays. Disney has been around for a long time and while they make some mistakes they are not a stupid company. They will learn from the UCS Hoth and work to restore the value that UCS has as a branding on a set. My guess is a $500 "Cinderella Castle" style remake of 10188 with a 10143 side to it. Cinderella for the girls and Death Star for the boys. AFOL folks remember the New Hope days and recent Star Wars fans play off Rouge One. It's gonna be big, especially for holiday.2 points

I'm on chat with Amazon trying to recover my payment for Prime when it hasn't been 30 days yet. I joined on the 13th and then they charged me for a year on the 17th. Amazon, you said free for 30 days not 4 days...2 points
