I'm good. I have more than one set, and less than 10,000. They're worth more than $1, and less than $100,000.8 points

I couldn't help myself. The SDCC Atom / Ray Palmer minifig looks too cool to pass up. Just wish it had a regular face (non-helmet) on one side. Then I could have made a Superman Returns / Brandon Routh minifig...6 points

I'm giving you extra credit this morning, for including set pictures with the set numbers. Thanks for going above and beyond!6 points

I went to lunch with a co-worker and we stopped at Wal-Mart to pick-up some 50% off Kylo Ren's shuttles. I commented when putting 2 back on the shelf, "These are for little Timmy". He just laughted. I'm lucky this store had 7 to start with.6 points

Regardless of the 75159's design (unless it is a 100% duplicate), the 10188 will always have people wanting the set. It's a classic.5 points

Except it was probably too late to change it when AssOnHoth was released.5 points

Believe it or not there were plenty of new lego fans entering the market the past 2 years who did not purchase 10188 and plenty more to come in the future.5 points

Not long to go now. Surprised there has been no discussion of the new info about this set on brickpicker given 75159's direct impact on the value of 10188 and the collectibility of the UCS line. On the other boards lots of conversation regarding comments made by a member who has been lucky enough to see the new set: " I am fascinated to see how people will respond to #75159 The Death Star when it is revealed, although I do not know when that will be. I have seen it and think opinion will be divided" " It is the Death Star and is not related to Starkiller Base." " I don't actually know the piece count but suspect it will be a little higher than #10188 Death Star. " Unfortunately sounds like it is going to be a Toy Shopped 10188 Those that missed 10188 will rejoice, those that have it in their collection already will be meh (is that considered divided?). Probably the same set with updated figs, possibly a few more figs, and a little more detail on the structure (hence the call that piece count will be a little higher than 10188 just on a single viewing). I imagine if it was a very different set we would not get the piece count statement. Certainly jives with the original leak of a "bigger and better" 10188. Not sure how I would really feel about a rehashed 10188. It is an excellent set already but was certainly outdated by today's standards. A rehashed design might bring it close to perfect. A completely new design might be a disaster and who wants to look at that for the next 8 years? On the other hand who wouldn't have loved a UCS AT-AT first? Glad we will be divided because nobody was divided about Assault on Hoth.5 points

This MOC reminded me that we really need a large LEGO whale in a set. Could kinda be set up like the typical dragon, with a main body piece. And then a removable mouth, fins, and a tail, that just clip on.4 points

Mine arrived yesterday. There's a bunch of bricks in that box. 2 of them together was pretty heavy for a small package.4 points

On a serious note, if build-a-bear has the technology for stuffed animals, I'm sure LEGO is not tapping into their full potential.3 points

Of course. I have always said this set has two paths. One to $500-$700 and another to $1000+++. But the future is positive, regardless. LEGO is smart and realize they want to please all customers. They don't want an iconic set like the 10188 to look bad because people will shy away from the next $400 set, waiting for a better version. But they also want to sell the new one. They want people to buy them all. New...old...second hand...whatever.3 points

I shut this down and shut down a similar topic the other day. There really isn't a purpose for this topic.3 points

If it were me I would probably move fast on my inventory depending on my inventory level. If I had 1 or 2 to sell, I would probably ride it out and see as you aren't gaining/losing too much if you hold and if it never moves past 1/2 to 2x RRP (especially if you have a lower buy in price). If I had 10+ to sell, I would be worried and start moving them now. Put em on Craigslist, Amazon, Ebay because outside of a completist collector, why would you spend the money on an 8 year old set when you get bigger and better for the same $. I bought a used SSD a couple months ago but if a new model was on the horizon, I would have just waited for it. Just my 2 cents.3 points

75074 x3 (£6) 75127 x3 (£4) 75140 x2 (£36) 75902 x3 (£23.97) 60092 x1 (£17.97) 75049 x1 for £45 The 75049 Snowspeeder is one I didn't manage to attain before retirement. As one of my favourite vehicles I was always going to grab this one at some point. Managed to pick it up for £45 BNIB which is a £10-15 saving on the average selling price on eBay. Looking forward to the UCS for this big time.3 points

Got my BL order in for the 9 pieces I was missing for the Death Star 10188 that I picked up for $280 a couple months ago. This is the first time I have built a set without the kids, who are visiting their g-parents. So far I have just finished the minifigs and a little less than half of the Death Star. In other words, the pics of the new Death Star should be leaked on Friday this week as I finish up.3 points

The big question will be at what price will interest fall off? As Yoda would say,.. If LEGO releases a total rehash of 10188 without significant and real changes, builders around the world are going to be pissed. These big ass sets are clearly marketed towards AFOLs and parents with lots of moolah. They can't afford another AssOnHoth. B-Wing and Tie Fighter don't count either. The LEGO builds are great, but the ships themselves just don't impress like the SandCrawler and Slave 1. What would be neat is a redesign, that folds open but with new figs and new rooms. Then people will want both.2 points

Lego are so inconsiderate giving us two sets in the same theme with the same initials, so much confusion this will cause for poor resellers on here.2 points

I've heard others speculate that, too, and I think you're onto something. You could buy two of them, and have a Death Star II type model, or open it up, and you've got a DS playset.2 points

In response to another comment on that thread: " I have said all that I am going to say but my comment above that opinion of the set will probably be divided should be telling :o) " (emphasis added by me) Half a sphere perhaps?2 points

I have a secret weapon. For those that don't know I'm an industrial fire fighter for a local refinery. Whenever I go out deal hunting I always wear my uniform. It seems to help out in negotiations....lol.2 points
