The Brick Separator is among the top sellers? This thing needs to retire soon as I'm sitting on quite a lot of them.10 points

Just finished lighting up my Palace Cinema. Still need to light the street lamp but that requires a drill bit I didn't have handy.8 points

They will ship it in a box, they will ship it with some frocks, they will ship it on an ox, and still useful after green eggs and ham.6 points

Yeah.... I expect a "retiring soon" tag any day now. Wonder how long it will take before the horde cleans them all out. Just beware for the new version. I spoke to a lego store manager the other day and he confided me the new one will come out next year and it will probably be green.5 points

This is a Kijiji story in the greater Toronto area. Saw ad titled "Lego 50lbs" asking price $150 CAD (thats about $115 USD). Seller was located about 45 minutes outside of Toronto. I emailed her within 15 minutes of her listing. I asked if this was all Lego (no megabloks, Kinetix....etc), and if the 50lbs included the weight of the container. She responds and says its mostly Lego, she sorted most of the other branded items out, and yes, the estimate weight included the container. I'm thinking at $150, even at 40lbs, thats a great deal. I didn't feel it necessary to negotiate the price (fear she would sell it to someone else) and offered to buy it. Had some reservations intially, and didn't feel like making the drive.....but the thrill of the hunt pushed me to go. After arriving at the seller's residence and she lugged out the bin for me to review. Upon lifting it, I immediately realized this was definitely not 50lbs. Not even close! I mentioned this to the seller and asked if she actually weighed it. She admitted that it was not put on a scale, rather her husband estimated this based on all his experience "pumping iron"!! I am serious, she said that! I told her that this was definitely not 50lbs, more like 35-40lbs at best. Also, quickly looking through the bin, there were a lot more junk than she described, and only a handful of minifigures. This collection had clearly been played with by children, and not in the best condition. Despite all the red lights going off in my head.....and not wanting to go home empty handed after 45 minute drive. I offered her $120......which she accepted immediately. I realized I offered too much, and I will probably regret it. Sure enough, after arriving home, I begin to do some minor sorting. There were even more junk than I expected......worse of all, there was a large stone at the bottom of the bin! The stone probably weighed a couple of pounds! The smell of pets all over this collection became obvious as well. I felt like an idiot after discovering that. I ended up spending a couple of hours sorting and the final weight of the Lego was under 25lbs! This was probably one of the dumbest decisions I've ever made, despite all the red flags, I really need to get my head checked for still going through this deal. I guess I got all caught up in the hunt for deals and blinded by better judgement. On a positive note, I ended up selling it back on Kijiji to someone who wanted to pick up some cheap Lego for their kid to play with. Ended up selling it for what I paid.....minus time/gas I spent. This experience has definitely deterred me from ever considering buying bulk crap. Don't ever want to buy someone else's problems again. Feels good to rant Thanks for reading.4 points

Was out garage selling this past weekend. I run across things from time to time but usually they are overpriced and I'm not creative enough to put sets together out of huge piles of mixed bricks. This weekend I found a few sets, either in original boxes or in plastic bags, but they labeled the bags as complete, near complete, missing xxx, etc. Picked up the following items for $1 each! 4733 - The Dueling Club (Missing 4 pieces). Already sold it for $30 4727 Aragog in the Dark Forest w/ box - Haven't inspected it yet 7139 and 7113 Manuals. This one came with the Catapult from 7139 and then the Tusken Raiders from 7113 and then some miscellaneous parts from other sets I haven't identified yet. 4479 Star Wars Tie Bomber - Incomplete but haven't inspected it yet, looks to have most pieces 7469 Mission to Mars - Bag says "Believed to be complete" but haven't inspected it. 4755 Knight Bus - No Minifigures but it has the box and they said the bus is complete. I put together the Dueling club last night and listed it and sold it this morning. Should be fun to put the rest of these sets together and see exactly what I got.4 points

You know you should wait for Lego's official release don't you? I am really curious about the designer video though. Has that one leaked as well?4 points

Also, you should be warned that the amount of you boxes ordered will only net a slightly smaller eye-roll from your significant other, despite the very valid argument is this is the only way to remove all the LEGO sets your brought in the door that merited the full eye roll.3 points

Just finished building the Simpsons House tonight, thoroughly enjoyable throughout. In my opinion not quite a fun as the Kwik-E-Mart, but a set full of detail and if you are a fan of the show I'm sure you will also enjoy.3 points

They are so cute! With the Pokemon craze going right now, this will attract new investors and collectors. We should buy the maximum quantities as soon as they are release to create a shortage. Oh btw, new investors, start buying out all the current orange removers, those will be going for big bucks2 points

Everybody was so concerned with Disney minifigures being a short run yet Lego is pumping more of those out and have stated such. I think this series will be the shorter run series...2 points

Good god. What on earth is happening? It seems like every day there's another tragedy. I was reading comments on another site and someone said, well, nobody likes the police. I LIKE THE POLICE! I guess if you're breaking laws, they would be an inconvenience. For the record, it is never ok to shoot police. [emoji35]2 points

SDCC blog is stating that The Atom will be given out Thursday and Saturday and CA Friday and Sunday. If that's true, it kind of sucks. Last year they only had 2 minifigs and the Bionicle mask...this year only 2 minifigs?!1 point

Edwards vision of this SW movie was supposed to be a war movie. It's supposed to be dark. The execs. are coming in and want to add a lighter tone and make it kid friendly. I completely disagree with this. Just because the execs. have their own ideas doesn't mean the movie sucked. It means they are going to cram a bunch of sugar coated crap down our throats.1 point

I just built it. Awesome build. $270 is the US price on Brickpicker. plus add on shipping and that is probably the going rate. I got mine used for $230 out the door but I was really patient and found an auction ending middle of day Saturday. Box had a little damage but ok for my collection.1 point
