If you are wondering why a huge list of sets from Amazon just appeared in the thread, I am just trying a script I put together that will grab the latest listings of 20% or more directly from Amazon at that time and inject it in here. Just trying to see if it worked.5 points

Lol at anyone thinking this set isn't a winner at the current price. Especially those on this site (which specializes in the investment element)5 points
-
Regardless of what the objectives are, if you can get up to 50% off this set, you can make money. How can that ruin anyone's objectives. I can't think of one thing.5 points

Never really understood that idiom. What's the point of jumping off the ship before it sinks? You're going to end up in the water anyways. Why not stay dry as long as you can? Will it suck you under too? The only time I think you should jump ship early is if it's on fire and an explosion is imminent. But that's just me. Am I wrong?5 points

I just can't understand using all of those 16 x 4 Wedge pieces I would think that LEGO could find some brick pieces to use as bricks. And then they place random stickers in a few spots on them to try to make it look as though it is meant to be brick?5 points

I have a different outlook as my glass will be ~50% fuller. Say the 75095 Tie sells as you say for 25% over rrp 1 year after retirement (2 years from now). 250.00 x 20% (roughly in fees) nets you 200.00 on a high end of 135.xx buy in. 65.00 pure profit (not including income tax). Just shy of 50% profit or a GAGR of 21.72%. Now I do not think it will remain at 240-250 very long. How long was 9492 out? Discounts were everywhere. It could be had for less than $30. It is now selling for over 100.00 USD. Not too shabby. Shows me demand for the vehicle/ship. I sold 10212 waaaaaay too early thinking that is was not that popular of a ship design...I was wrong. With the 10227 B-Wing comparisons many had a buy-in of roughly $100. It can now easily be sold for $300 - 350.00. Taking the lower amount (300) nets you roughly 240,00 after (20% fees/shipping). 140 pure profit (not accounting for income tax). What am I missing here? Tell all family and friends to pony up some cashola and make sure to get them sent to their house not yours. Buy-in of $135 or lower (insert opinion here) is a no brainer. BTW my train of thought is very often flawed and biased on making money in this brickworld....4 points

We all have our learning curves. I once questioned whether it was a good idea to buy HH when they had that Wal-Mart gift card deal 2.5 years ago or so. Making mistakes is a good but painful way to learn.4 points

Saw this today on the Ideas website, very impressive, wouldn't surprise me to see the Lego Group release something similar as an official UCS from the new movies... https://ideas.lego.com/projects/1444063 points

Maybe this is Lego's strategy to address the problem with re-sellers. Product life depends on sales. Then mass retire a bunch of products to reduce the last minute hoarding. Good example was last Winter. We the Sea Cow, Death Star, Red Five, Tumbler, Tower of Orthanc all disappearing within 2-3 months apart which stretch resellers resources resulting in the reduction of mass hoarding re-sellers could of done if those sets were to retire evenly throughout the year. Of course, you can't stop those will tons of money like some here who managed to buy 50+ Tumblers from Target. But enough to throw a wrench in majority of our buying power on here.3 points

So, when one year after EOL, it is still not trading at more than 20% above RRP, people should remember today as one of the reasons why.2 points

I didn't think the entire world was a prime member. That and the limit of 1 probably has a lot to do with this not selling out as quickly.2 points

Not riding you out of town, just saying that it's worth grabbing regardless of any plan. Its a tough deal to pass up on for a set like that (whether you like the set or not).2 points

Hey, it's less competition for me down the road. I'll take that. Dude, never mind the code. That price alone can't be beat. Use the code on something else!2 points

The new Spider-man Web Warriors Ultimate Battle set (76057) has a taxi. Looks to be a pretty good "classic" taxi and the set comes out soon here in the U.S. http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=76057-1&name=Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle&category=[Super Heroes][Spider-Man]#T=S&O2 points

A couple of things... The tan is as close as they can get to the light beige/tan color of the real castle, so I have no issue with it. The towers are fine and the long slopes give them a meatier appearance. Even though there were other ways to improve them, it is not a major focal point or negative IMO. Minifigures are OK. They could have been exclusive to this set. Cinderella would have been a nice addition. Otherwise... The Ultimate Disney Dollhouse. Great looking box. Great looking set. One of LEGO's all time best IMO. Will be a must have this XMAS. Great flipper potential. Long term potential will be dependent on whether this set remains in Disney retail stores long after it disappearing from traditional sources. If it retires normally, a big time winner, regardless of hoarding.2 points
