A few years ago I bought a used 6285 Barracuda off Bricklink. I finally had time to clean the pieces and build this beautiful ship! The sails were in fantastic shape. This was my first LEGO ship that I've ever built and it was a fun, but sometimes challenging build. I must say, once you start assembling the masts and raising the sails, this ship really comes to life! I hope you enjoy the pics.10 points

Working on a western scene and saw a western train station on Lego Ideas and liked it (https://ideas.lego.com/projects/9050), but wanted to mod some changes, make it a modular and add some LED lights (http://www.lifelites.com/). I have worked on this one on/off for about three years making all kinds of modifications to it. I want to redo the inside of the building at some point, maybe give it more detail like the outside. However, for now I am content with it. I hid the battery pack to the street lights under the water tower and ran the wiring under the building (you can kind of see the battery pack, but not too bad). The clock tower lights up too, though it may be hard to see. I hid the battery pack inside the roof, with a little trap door to turn the power on. I like that it is usable for western type scenes as well as a modern train station (since there are so many older train stations still in use across this country). I also modified the locomotive so that it runs on Power Functions. All the wooden planks that wrap around the station are the 1x4 wood grain tiles (not stickers), part #2431pb243. I bought a bunch a few years ago and am glad I did, they are quite pricy now. I think it makes it look a lot nicer. Spoiler: and those of you with OCD…you may notice in the pictures that the four clocks are not aligned to be the same time…sorry.9 points

Thinking about the rooms in the castle and the wave 1 minifigs, it seems quite straightforward that this building is set to be populated with wave 2 figs. Why only Ariel in the first wave from all the princesses? Because she is in mermaid form. All the residents are missing. So, be prepared to see Cinderella, Beauty, Beast, Prince Charming, Snow White, human Ariel, Wizard Mickey, Rapunzel, etc. in the new wave. Quite smart product tying. If you like the figs, you want the castle for them. If you like the castle, you want residents. $$$$$$8 points

The book is almost done. The designer is finishing it up. I had to go over the entire book the last several weeks and add callouts/blurbs/dialog and Jeff had to get the photographers bios together and locate some images. It looks really nice. A lot of dynamite pictures to choose from. Very creative. I wish we had more pages because some fantastic photos won't make the cut. We should be able to see the finished pages on screen in a week or two to see who stood out photographer wise.7 points

This set should spawn a whole new legion of LEGO fans from the Disney fan base. I expect this to boost the entire LEGO market, especially larger, more expensive sets. Customers who make this their first big LEGO purchase will now be more likely to buy other sets that interest them. Dads will now have the green light from mom. Moms will become AFOLs. This set is groundbreaking for TLG. $350 feels just about right. From the first look it's absolutely gorgeous. Now we know what the A team was working on while the B team was designing Assault on Hoth. I wonder which team is working on the new Death Star? Anyways, I think this could be a hot QFLL item this Christmas, similar to Tumbler a few years back. We'll have to keep an eye on that around here.7 points

Speaking of Prime Day. I see on Amazon's site there is $30 off $150 coupon if you use your Amazon Rewards Visa to pay for your purchase on that day and enter code VISA30. Sounds like it can be multiple items, but have to add up to $150. Good on items sold by Amazon. Can be used once. http://tinyurl.com/h5o5tv45 points

75095 $146.99 on Amazon. Third party seller. Has decent reviews on quick glance. No tax from what I see. https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Star-75095-Fighter-Building/dp/B00X3301HI?ie=UTF8&ascsubtag=78381b51d53cf9a583ca3bfa5e111298_S&ref_=dra_a_cs_lb_hn_xx_P1400_1000&tag=dradisplay-205 points

Not today but over the past week, I built the second copy up. I have a 3rd as well. All from bulk lots, gotta build and verify each copy, then mix and match the best combination of parts... I have about 1.5 sheets worth of stickers between the 3 sets, and no minifigs. Gotta figure out how to distribute it for best returns. Kind of fun to start a full on fleet of these though, since they're so large. No idea where to put them now of course. 6211 version for those that can't tell at a glance. Sorry for blur, my hands weren't exactly perfectly steady at the end of this build session4 points

People need to realize that we get a very nice email from The LEGO Group's legal team asking us to remove images like the new Cinderella's Castle until they are ready for it to be announced. It history is any indication of future events, LEGO will be announcing this within the next few days...maybe week tops, once they realize the cat is out of the bag.3 points

Yes you should cover the cardboard outer boxes with a blanket if you are worried about he sun fading the brown cardboard and turning them into tan cardboard.3 points

I think people have to consider the fact that poor selling sets or sets that are expensive to produce/issues can retire sooner than later. This has been shown many times. This leads us to the UCS TIE. While I love the set, many don't, so it is not universally popular, thus possibly a candidate for early retirement. LEGO adapts and adjusts. If it sells, it stays. Saying a set will be on the shelves for "X many" years is complete speculation.3 points

These: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Ninja-Sword-Sheath-853447?fromListing=listing have been on sale forever. For the price, they are a great birthday party idea. My son had a Ninjago party where they dressed up as ninjas and did some activities outside, and each kid kept the sword to take home. Better than a crap goody bag of candy. The kids loved them, and they can whack each other without hurting each other too bad.3 points

I have a bunch of shots (from my GS7 Edge, not the big camera) from the Lego American Roadshow, it just departed from being at my local mall for 3 weeks. I also have some lego convention shots that I could share if anyone is interested...we did get the chance to meet Adam Reed Tucker (he was there from noon - 2pm, I got there at 1pm and he was already out of that cool poster....but he signed something else for me...(I mean he designed ALL the most recent architecture sets and said that only the Robie House was left untouched, not a single brick changed by Lego) We were also able to do a little mini build tho, which was kinda cool. That's below along with a couple highlights from the Roadshow.3 points

I keep mine in the original boxes they came in and sort them as to what they are and then stack those boxes together. It's not pretty but I pretty much know where everything is when I'm looking for it. I have a couple people that help me with it, so that helps. I've uploaded a pic so you can see what I'm talking about...2 points

"Nice," lol. In other words, we don't want TLG to have any reason to have a beef with us. So please respect that. I don't want my boss getting letters from lawyers. That's never fun.2 points

No pictures of sets that are still rumored and unconfirmed from LEGO. Unless it is the official release, we don't allow it. LEGO hasn't officially announced this set yet. But they did issue a number of take down notices on the photos that were leaked yesterday. They didn't have to send one to Brickpicker, because we didn't let anyone post it.2 points

Do you mind if I do not like this tag at all? I'd rather see a set disappear overnight.2 points

Took my wife, for our 17th wedding anniversary, to see Bryan Adams in concert. I had managed to snag 2nd row tickets when they went on sale a couple months ago. Fantastic concert. Really great. Before the concert, they were doing a charity fundraiser for Shriner's Hospital, a charity near and dear to our own hearts. Buy his album (which we already had) and get entered to win a meet and great. Yeah, we won. My wife has been a fan of his for 30 years. We've been hitting his concerts in town the last five or six years. Needless to say, she's on cloud 9. Picture and autograph. Lots of fun.2 points
