Having a banner Sunday-Monday in sales, I walked up to my local USPS with a box of 33 packages weighing over 20 pounds at 6am. Plan was to slip as much as I could into the drop box this morning on my way to work, then the rest on my way home. Gal inside saw me approaching and came and unlocked the door, offering to take it. I thanked her profusely, and she was all "No problem at all, happy to help, you keep us in business, and better than filling up the drop box". Offered to bring her a coffee or something for making the generous exception, she politely declined, and said she's always there at 6am so I can just give a knock if I even have an early drop off of more than will fit in the drop box. Not really an Ebay buyer "feel good" story, but a pretty good experience all the same9 points

9474 Battle of Helm's Deep (special appearance by a nearly completed UCS R2D2 in the background) Really like the castle facade. Interior needs a lot of work but a great scene for the size. Gotta find a place to keep this and then add 2 wall extensions I bought. Also trying to see if gray base plates are necessary.9 points

No have never bought a modular to display. This collection started when my little boy was 4 and he only had eyes for Starwars spaceships and things. As he got better and better at putting them together I started to get him technic sets for a bit of a challenge. To this day I have still never built a set. He has always been my chief builder, I just help. Now he's almost 15 he's lost interest a bit but I'll keep collecting and probably just store them in their box unbuilt. He"ll be back one day.5 points

Finished building my very first Lego Star Wars UCS set: the beautiful Slave 1 ! I took my time building it, one bag at a time (day) and when daily life (wife and kids) demanded my attention there were days in a row where I didn't build on it at all. But I'm very very happy with the result and it looks just awesome ! The build itself was also really interesting and seeing all the parts coming together was very satisfying. This is an absolute must-have for every Lego Star Wars fan, and I foresee a glorious future for this set after it retires some day. It really ticks off all the check boxes: Big and massive, highly detailed, very displayable (CEO office worthy!), multiple special bricks only available in this set... I can't sing its praises enough!4 points

Just picked one up in store. Box so badly damaged the manager agreed to let me inventory for 100% contents before buying. Then she threw in an EXTRA 500 points for box damage. So 1199 total (199 standard + 500 bonus promo + 500 damaged box). Can't complain about that!3 points

Not sure if this is a wise buy, but it has been one hot biscuit here on Brickpicker: LEGO 60050 City Train Station $40.98 at walmart.com buy up to 5 at a time (but no limit on reorders) ... also at jet.com (limit 3).3 points

In the USA it is following a different path. Reminds of the quick flippers giving away their TH for $300 - $350. Once those sellers were cleared..... I know in Europe the super hero and winter themes are a very tough sell. I would not expect the Tumbler to be wildly popular there and to follow a completely different pattern.3 points

Kids built Bionicle Kopaku and Melum Unity set (my son) and Friends Hot Air Balloon (my daughter). I built Ecto-1 (21108). That car is a great build. Very happy. My son immediately used Melum's "function" to make him hide his face in his hands accompanied by baby-talk "Where is Icey? Where is Icey? THERE is Icey!". Cracked me up (he's 10 and quite the comedian). Also discovered that one of the toughest brick combinations to take apart is a 1x1 plate on top of a 1x1 round plate (Especially a clear one, which has different plastic). Tried fingers, brick separator, pliers, teeth (yeah, made me feel 30 years younger) and finally scissors to get those separated. Stupid instructions printed on black background - you can't distinguish chrome silver from clear transparent.....3 points

Most deals I saw were 30% off for various sets. Nothing arm sweep worthy as of yet in my opinion. I picked up some Scooby-Doo sets and some smaller star wars and technic sets.3 points

I thought, "It looks like a Happy Birthday Turd." Seriously, that's what I thought. Like, a turd holding a happy birthday sign and lolly pop.3 points

Built the corner deli a couple weeks ago. My boy slapped it on his very rough start of a city. Yesterday he turned 6 and he built the High Speed Passenger Train all by himself. I made sure the connections were solid but he did it all...I shot it yesterday and although he MOC'd a few things in the station area and the top of the train, it looks great. Runs well and I can't believe how solid this train feels.3 points

Daughter needed some new shoes and I needed to check out a Target that is out of my normal range, so went with my wifey. Didn't get any of the clearance, had the same clearance that I've seen all through FL and into Alabama. Did pick up 11 of my fav poly bags and 2 extras for prudence. But no shoes, so my wife wanted to try tj Maxx and marshals, to my Chagrin. Interesting, I found the 70228 sky scavenger for $24.99. I already stocked up on a few of these from Target so I passed. but I didn't realize it was a decent price because the sticker said original price was $29.99. Still no shoes, so we decided to stop by some second hand kids stores. We went to the chain one first "once upon a child" and I found a star wars 2012 Advent Calendar pack. With 2 green base plates for $12.99! Still no shoes, so we went to a smaller, family owned shop and I picked up a technic helicopter 8046 $10 Chima 70141 $10 Chima 70127 $3.75 All are sealed boxes in descent condition. Though I'll part out the Chima. And finally, as a consolation prize I got to go to TRU while my wife tried another Marshals on the way home. There I used a 20% off coupon and some reward bucks to score a Dr. Who for $33 and a free Skeleton Warrior. It was a nice shopping day with the wifey. We'll try again when Target does a second clearance on the Legos.2 points

I ordered two on Jet, still had that 15% off coupon for three orders through 7/31/16 and waived returns for a true 50% off and no tax. I figure I would arm sweep if I saw this price in store on clearance. I think this set was really overpriced to begin with.2 points

Okay, I'll post. I also posted these to Reddit, I'll admit it.2 points

The way the world's economy is tied together, it would be nice if all major countries/groups/unions/etc took notice of these debt issues. Too many countries and people spend into oblivion.2 points

LEGO is not listed as a vendor/exhibitor, so I doubt there will be an exclusive. With SDCC the week after Celebration, they probably decided to only do one of the events. And, yes, at Celebrations so far it has been first come since they aren't quite (yet) as out of control as SDCC/NYCC.2 points

I find the distribution of these interesting. Some places like your area have many, while others do not. They have been non-existent in stores around me for quite some time.2 points

I have several of these that work well and are cheap: http://www.harborfreight.com/18-divider-storage-container-medium-94457.html If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, pick them up in-store and use the 20% off any item coupon that’s in practically every local ad mailer.2 points

We just sold our 10179. It's a great model but was such a pain to display, plus I only owned it for not even 2 years and it doubled in value. Ploughed most of that 5 grand back into more sets (new). I think a new version is coming. I got burned bad by the snow speeder remake. Not doing that again.2 points

Pretty easy sequence to predict here people. Both for Cindy and Death Star. 1. Image leaks. 2. "Meh, not impressed, where has Lego's creativity gone?" 3. "Guaranteed investment winner" - Ed Mack 4. "Well, the previous version [is/isn't] selling well in [Europe/US], so don't think your market can predict the [US/Europe] market on this set!" 5. OrcKing posts high-res official thread pics minutes after they are available. 6. "You know, looking at this again, I like those two greebles, and look, two new unique parts in [seafoam blue/dark-light-gray-bley]" 7. Goes on sale on Lego.com with a Nexo Knights promo cycle or chopper. 8. "In for 3" - Exciter. 9. "This is my first Lego investment, was it good that I bought 20 of these already??" - user with reg date of x-1 week from posting date. ... .. ... 10. Profit! :-)2 points
