If you are trying to catch up on the books, you might want to check out Barnes & Noble. They have the new SW Chronicles of the Force for $11.56 (same as Amazon). DC SH is $13.66, though. SW Character encyclopedia is $13.94 (Amazon is $13.67). If you get over $50 in books, coupon code BNJUNE30 will subtract 20%. The coupon code will increase to 25% at $100 and 30% at $150. Now if you want to get super kick-ass, it would appear that the coupon code is doing some funny things... LEGO sets are excluded from the discount. No surprise there. Nor do they raise the purchase amount used to determine the discount level (i.e. $50 in books and $100 in LEGO set gives you the 20% discount, not 25%). But it appears you can get the discount to apply to your total order, including LEGO sets, with some careful sequencing (I didn't complete checkout to see if it actually carries through). If you work quantities in your cart, it will disqualify the promo code. I suggest channeling the zen required to hunt for SYW discounts online if you are trying to get this to work. To get it to the images below, I did the following. 1. Add the book to my cart 2. Go to cart and increase quantity to 5. (Raise the cart about the $50 for the promo code) 3. Enter the promo code. See about $10 in discount in the cart and indication that promo code BNJUNE30 was applied. 4. Add LEGO set to cart. See the discount increase commensurately. 5. Change quantities and the discount goes poof. Drop the LEGO sets, leaving only the books, and the discount still cannot be applied to order. You might need to clear history or go Incognito to make it work.11 points

You leave guys won't be smiling when Boris Johnson is your new Prime Minister, law of unintended consequences. Scary thought of the day, by the end of this year, Donald Trump, Boris Johnson and Vladimir Putin could all be world leaders.7 points

The iconic Ferrari F40 with a working gearbox and headlights. I think the hood has room for improvement but overall it is a beautiful model by jorgeopesi. At some point I will be adding the Ferrari sticker emblems to the hood and side of the car.6 points

This is a massive deal for us in the UK. Don't underestimate how crazy our economy could go in the short and long term. You will be wise to look at the exchange rates in the next few weeks I'm so glad that we've left the EU. We are out! This is big4 points

So 100% true story. Han Solo fans may appreciate it. Back in 2012 when I got married, my sister was dating/living with some scrawny LA actor who my groomsmen had fun ribbing. Apparently he had some big "blockbuster" called Beautiful Creatures coming up he was gonna be the "next big thing" from. Alden something, I didn't really pay attention other than he was the dude my sister had been dating a few years, he seemed like an artsy dweeb who took himself way too seriously for my tastes. Beautiful Creatures flopped a few months later, and he went into a 3-month depression where he barely left his bed. My sister left his pouty ass. Turns out scrawny Alden (Ehrenreich) was cast as the new Han Solo just recently here. My sister has since married some other guy. But the moral of the story: Hans f***ing Solo was at my wedding. I've got pictures of and with Hans Solo at my wedding. Top that!4 points

I think it's the EU who's backed into a corner, 350 million a week out of pocket and a list of countries screaming for their own referendum, the writings on the wall. Democracy over dictatorship.3 points

I have all (the cc and gg were bricklinked so I have a few substitutions) the modulars except market street and I'm building them in order to see the progression first hand. I stopped after the ps for a while because I was building one a week and didn't want to be disappointed when there were no more left to build. I'm currently working on the town hall after a year long break and the building is slow. My kids are at a stage where they need more from us so less time to build. Elsa and Anna seem to enjoy the elevator though and are currently stuck (my daughter's storyline)3 points

My 11 year old daughter loves the modular sets. (I'm so glad she moved on from the Friends line!) We have every set from GG on but I have personally only built GG Wifey built PR and I helped her finish it off. Daughter built all the rest except TH as that is the last one to build for our city. Between mine and the boys Star Wars sets and the modular and city sets, we are slowly losing our basement to Lego tables. We have 5 with 2 more getting purchased this weekend. The only problem with a wife and a bunch of kids who love Lego is that I don't always get to build the cool sets.3 points

Target online and on eBay seems to have 21014 Villa Savoye available for $64.93 (roughly 7% off). Not sure how many available or if it is a fluke, as it is a retired product... http://www.target.com/p/lego-architecture-villa-savoye-21014/-/A-14068274 http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-Architecture-Villa-Savoye-21014-/282037831985?hash=item41aac3c931:g:hEoAAOxyBXNSUlK73 points

It depends on the performance of the pound. If it weakens further then that´s great for UK sellers and we will be flooded with Tumblers for less than RRP. If it strengthens, they will have a harder time selling but will buy more from abroad. The customs tariffs factor with EU countries may take years to negotiate.3 points

I just wanted to say thanks to Ed and the mods for letting this discussion play out a bit. It's educational reading the raw opinions of those outside of politics/media and more in the trenches. There was a bit of unnecessary bickering but, really, less than expected considering that both sides seem to have, at the least, some compelling arguments, and legitimate reasons to be upset at the other. Sounds like a tough spot to be in. Hopefully it works out for the best...2 points

So what is the end goal? Have a look at the following, a very succinct and elegant description of what Leave hopes to accomplish. EU Debate - Oxford Union, Daniel Hannan MEP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzNj-hH8LkY Las Vegas real-estate pre-2008 == speculative market (DRINK!)2 points

Well.... To top my 25 Hearlake Highs and 35 dollar Olivia's House, My local walmart had an Ultimate McQueen from 2011 today for 23.00, a Skipper Flight School for 11.00, and a 75019 AT-TE for 49.00. They also had some castle, galaxy squad, Hobbit, and LOTR, and some other older sets, but nothing of value. Looks like they are clearing out the 8 trailers they have sitting out back.2 points

Frankly, a lot of the nationalism, fear mongering and blatant racism that's going on with the politics of the far right in places like the U.K., U.S. and France scare the bejesus out of me. What scares me more is the reaction of large swaths of people. I don't have a "horse in the race," so to say, as far as Brexit went but from what I could tell, the Leave campaign was run -- and successfully run at that, one might add -- on very little fact and a lot of "take our nation back" type of rhetoric. The implications are downright scary. As for what this all has to do with Brickvesting... I think a lot of us in Europe will probably be looking at ordering from Amazon.co.uk if the sterling really plunges, as it seems like it just might. Now, if this whole Brexit thing really does send the world economy into a bit of a tailspin (more so than the reactionary trading of today), then I guess we'll really see if Lego is truly a better investment than gold.2 points

Mine was the usual AWD lottery and this time it didn´t work out. I´ll keep it because I prefer to man up in these situations (I am not one of these people that goes and returns all the stuff they have remorse about or were unable to flip) and it shouldn´t be hard to find a buyer at the right price this xmas.2 points

This and the Batcave got extended for a third year. I think that really hurt them in the secondary market. They have been good sellers for me with low buy-ins but they took longer than I expected to get there.2 points
