Yes, collection is in Albuquerque, NM. I'll drive up to 500 miles on my end for delivery if needed. My treatment has been great so far. Losing much of your tongue totally sucks, but it beats the alternative. Thanks everyone for the good wishes, I'll make it through this.24 points

I've had many inquiries, thanks to everyone! The collection has been sold, and I'm working with the buyer to arrange delivery. Thanks again to everyone, that was really quick. I actually had several offers in excess of my $12,500 asking price. I didn't accept them as 1) I had been working a deal with a buyer prior to this, and 2) I felt $12,500 was the fair price which leaves enough room for the buyer to make some profit on this collection. After all, that's one of the reasons we're all here. Thanks again, now I have to start packing things up.17 points

Once again, thanks to all. I really didn't want my health to be such a big deal; we all deal with stuff like this eventually, at least if you're living right. Here I am. 6" incision on my neck from the radical neck dissection I had 7 weeks ago. All the lymph nodes in the left side of my neck were removed, along with about 35% of my tongue.9 points

I sold the beat up box tower bridge I picked up the other day for $200. Not too interesting but I did sell it on a new site (new to me) Nextdoor.com. It's a message board website for neighborhoods. It has a classified section. I don't think I will list any thousand dollar SSDs there but it might be good for small and used stuff. It's also great for getting local recommendations. It's gotten so expensive to sell online, love seeing a new local source beside craigslist. It's much more personalized than CL too so I don't expect the garbage responses I sometimes get on CL.5 points

I am really sorry to read that you are going through this. I hope that your treatments go extremely well and you go into remission sooner than later.5 points

Finally, I found the time to build a little bit today. It's Battle on Takodana with some Jedis visiting Maz while the bad guys are out of town. Thankfully, there were only two stickers in need of application and the banner is made of some kind of fabric. Also, most of the parts and bricks seem to be easily repurposed for MOCs.2 points

@diablo2112 I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Good luck with your recovery and health. I know it isn't easy but we all wish you the best going forward. Staying positive for your family and self def helps.2 points

I agree .. the set itself is mediocre so the raptors are the only thing carrying it. I agree with newbie and $150 will be it's upper limit... maybe you get the swing of $160 on Amazon, $140 on eBay (or so) but I can't see it hitting $200.2 points

Sorry to hear about your circumstances! Wishing you a speedy recovery. I have done business with the OP and can vouch for him.2 points

Since you asked... listen carefully at 0:53. Yep... can't remember three things from a grocery list, but I can remember hearing about a new lego part in a designer video!2 points

In for a couple and snagged an IST for 48 quid to amortise the shipping. Nice deals on X wing and the Ninjago sets too.1 point

parking was a pain in the neck last year so keep that in mind, also watch out for fake minifigs/Lego.1 point

Good luck to you. Your offer to drive to meet is really generous. As the resident map guy, for anyone interested, here's an idea what is about 500 miles from Albuquerque: Phoenix, AZ (perfect for SoCal) Odessa and El Paso, TX Clinton, OK Fort Collins, CO Price, UT Little Rock, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and Los Angeles are all no more than 500 miles from the 500 mile point. Pretty much everything West of the Mississippi except the Pacific Northwest could easily make this happen.1 point

There's something that just seems a bit wrong to me with buying a large number of high value sets like this and then returning them just because you couldn't instantly sell them for an easy profit. How will you feel when someone buys several expensive sets from you then suddenly wants a refund unexpectedly after a few weeks and having accounted for the extra money? If I owned a store and someone pulled a similar stunt I would ban them from buying again from me. When stores start to get problems with returns like this, this is how stores procedures could affect other buyers generally going forward. Bad ethics if you ask me, but it's your choice at the end of the day. What if everyone did this though?1 point

Patience, look at Ebay listings and very few are outside the UK and Germany, prices starting at 85 euros with a weakening pound. This is a 120-150 euro set like the Delorean, just a question of time.1 point

Well its been £230 for the ship (including a replica sticker sheet that actually doesn't look that bad). Ended up buying from 3 different stores in the end. I also got a bargain deal for the Vader (new), Storm Trooper, Imperial officer and Imperial pilot for an extra £20 on eBay. Only missing Luke and all the weapons. To put it in perspective the cheapest you can find a used, complete with instructions (and usually the box) in the UK is £350. Ok, I don't have Luke but as I wasn't buying this for any kind of investment saving works out ok. Plus it was a nice little project.1 point

Built this a few weeks ago, just haven't shot it yet...It's got a cool elevator lift on the right hand side, the stairs move up and down, Hans in Carbonite can be maneuvered from facing out and in an upright position to lowered down in more of a flat position. I really like the one with Boba carrying Hans without any support. However, irl, there was support, but it got removed digitally I also stacked 3 images in PS to create a depth of field that showed all 3 figures in focus on the last frame. That was fun too.1 point
