Tonight I finished the GB Headquarters, and I have to say what a fantastic set and great build, definitely one of my favourites!! Yes the walls can get a bit repetitive, sometimes the roof has got a tendency to pop up at the ends, and the fact the chairs in the kitchen aren't secured can be a little frustrating when moving the set (which I'll mod) but in the grand scheme of things this all becomes irrelevant because this set has it all. For any GB fan, they will appreciate that no detail has been overlooked, it captures so much from the films to the extent I even put my Jackie Wilson CD on and was expecting the toaster to start dancing on the pool table, but no cigar!!!9 points

Technically the 80s would be 1981-1990. Unfortunately people who don't respect proper year groupings took over and made 2000 the new millennium when it was in fact the last year of the old millennium. Remember, there was no year zero.4 points

Do I understand this correctly that an honorable brickpicker left a lone copy for little Timmy and you just grabbed it? Anyway, this sounds like the deal of a lifetime. Congratulations!2 points

Let's see, IPs with existing licensing agreement will not get through, so scratch the 2 SW + 1 JP ideas Modular sized builds are next, so Train Station and Fishing House are out I do not think they would do Johnny Five soon after Wall-E since those are both robots. Out of the 3 remaining, I'd say Particle Accelerator has the best chance since it is most unique looking. They did a small dino display in RI and LEGO already released smaller Gingerbread House last year2 points

Pay for the return shipping yourself, as I'm fairly confident Amazon will side with her if she pushes the issue. You can sell the set complete w/o figures on eBay or keep for personal build. Write the sale off as an inventory loss. You win some....lose some. Sorry.2 points

Well let's assume you didn't miss something as obvious as scotch tape holding the box shut (or your buyer is an idiot and doesn't understand what a LEGO factory tape seal looks like). By the indignant tone of the email, sounds like she knows she's scamming you, and has clearly pulled this trick before. Out of curiosity, is this a set where the minifigures are of any significant value that's worth this effort?2 points

It's 2 different arguments. the millennium has nothing to do with the way that we group real numbers. You can't say that Amazing Spider-Man 90 is really 80 or that $1.00 is really $.99 Any numbering system where you group it by a certain identifier has to have that identifier. 1990 is not a part of a group consisting of items numbered 198X. And See, I know that you were just doing that tongue in cheek and I went overly pedantic. But, I'm in a weird place mentally at the mo.2 points

Argh - of course - this was posted in the Amazon thread. Ignore all my Ebay drivel .....2 points

Depending on whom you shipped with you might be able to hold the shipment for a direct return .....2 points

I'll answer my own question here, I called eBay. These can indeed be shipped separately, and he said that with GSP, you actually need to ship separately. Lesson learned.2 points

Two things - 1. I don't think you understand how badly I'd buy these 2. I love that Orco is only a torso!2 points

Someone inside Lego explained me that they initially proposed to FIFA doing minifigures of different soccer national teams and Germany was the only one quick enough to respond with reasonible terms and $ fair demand marketing expectations. Make no mistake, the fact that Germany is the only one set up in Lego has nothing to do with being the current World Cup champion. Other national teams were not quick enough to respond before production took place and others asked for insane marketing earnings. I don't rule out and in fact I'd expect more national teams to follow in the future, being this set the very first one and therefore more valuable IMHO. And yes, there is a FIFA licence tied up to Germany's set, but it already expired and no more production will take place.2 points

You all will be filled with regret and will regret not thinking about the regret before regretting it.2 points

Yes there was suppose to be another set or two, but Lego decided not to do anymore, one reason is they had tons of complaints from parents and I am sure there are other reasons. "And this is not my gut saying these are retiring by the end of the year, really don't like saying where the info came from but I will say the Simpsons are not on the 2017 Exclusive order form. Now some sets sell out before the end of the year and some hang around for a few months in the new year. If you think these sets are duds well don't get any. But I think no matter how you feel about these I would get a few, does anybody really think these sets will never increase in value to make you money. Simpsons are well known worldwide, and 20 yrs from now they still will be still a hit. Ed2 points

I purchased three Spider-man Daily Bugle sets without minifigs and used the pieces (plus other pieces in our bulk bin) to build this little modular hospital. I also order a set of doctor office stickers from Brick Builders Pro. If you noticed in the pictures, apparently my son seems to think that all our doctors are also the patients...haha.2 points

With numbered bags I never felt the need to do any kind of presort. This may change when it comes to building the TB. I'll need to keep building LEGO sets in mind as a way to test prospective spouses for housekeeping abilities. Also, this may be slightly off-topic but I just received a Tower Bridge with 17S6 seals.2 points

Motorized Terminal and Plane MOD. Great video too (Although I think the roof panel over the servo doesn't quite fit and hence it is showing some gaps).1 point

The only photos that have been distributed are those posted above (and above and above) in this thread. Wave 6 (the first wave of Series 2) is all that has been shown for the moment. Hopefully the rest will be revealed when E3 starts on the 14th.1 point

I have a similar feeling. I'm trying to picture someone 5 years from now seeing these. HOLY CRAP, i can't believe they made that! Wow,that's REALLY nice looking, and so detailed, and,,,, it's HOW much? $500? Neat, but pass. So the real question is are there enough die-hards to match the likely under-hoarded amount. Probably,,,,but i'm not sure that's where i want to put my bets. That said, in for 4.1 point
