  1. It's been sitting semi-built for a few weeks. Built one of the expensive $74 WM clearance ones I tossed a couple finished build shots over the one and only astrophotography shot I have. Fun build and looks great on display.

  3. Yes, finally OOS on Amazon! Lowest 3rd party price is ~$70! Awesome. Several eBay BIN sales this week in the $60-$70 range as well, more good news. I'm hoping for $100 on this set within 12-18 months...

  4. This is a screen grab from a video that was posted to LEGO Dimension's Twitter account. It has since been taken down. Looks like Gizmo from Gremlins!

  7. I love this thread! About five months ago, my mom brought out a box from her storage with some old stuff in it and sitting there was the only Lego set my brother and I had when we were kids. We did have some basic bricks but this was the only actual set we had. We were well below middle-class when I was young so we didn't have much toys, let alone Lego. I still have vivid memories of building this set over and over again and playing with it.

  10. Honestly, the existence of this thread at this point in time would prevent the set from reaching its full potential

  12. $100 Sears Gift Card for $85 via SVM Gift Cards on eBay (FYI, it can take a week or two to get your card in the mail, but they are a reliable seller I have purchased from before). http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Sears-Gift-Card-For-Only-85-FREE-Mail-Delivery/291775072242?hash=item43ef2647f2&rpp_cat_id=152

  13. Do us a favor and don't tell anyone how easy this is. The hard part is actually photographing, listing, negotiating, getting packing material, doing the packing, shipping cost, going to the post office, (or not), hoping they arrive, dealing with returns, insurance claims, paying ebay fees, paying paypal fees, paying taxes, etc. Other than that,,,,,,,yes this is easy

  14. I generally try to avoiding posting after @midbenne posts his awesome pictures, but the kids finished The Phantom 75048 last night and combined it with the Ghost they built last week. Now all they have left to build from my son's bday stash is Kylo Ren's Comand Shuttle. Luckily my birthday is this weekend...

  17. I don't remember which set I I fot first exactly. I grew up in the Netherlands and my uncles actually grew up with it in the 50's and 69's and so my grand parents had a lot of the really old sets for us (the grand children) to play with. I do vividly remember Lego coming out with the more blue like space sets and me getting a lot of these on one of my birthdays. I still have them all and just built them again with my 5 y.o.

  18. I think you are missing the point. People want these for their personal collection. Sure, this site is about investing. But it's also about obtaining and chatting about rad sets that they want to add to their collections. They are stoked to find them to get some fountains too for a cool promo.

  25. Lol ... I have no idea. I saw it on a top shelf in the toy section of this store. I had seen 3 of them up there several months ago. There was one left today. No pricing on the shelf. Just sitting there glistening in the glow of Walmart lighting. Oh a whim I decided to look it up on an online inventory checker. I cried a bit when it said $12. Grabbed the box from the top shelf and took it to a price checker. Cried a little more when it scanned at $12.

  27. Possibly, but after a day or two nobody will be posting in this thread anymore because it's about a City themed set, and nobody cares about City. It will soon be buried amongst all of the other long forgotten topics that are not related to Star Wars, bubbles, or daily deals, never to be heard from again. A day or two of discussion won't kill it's long term potential. Plus it's a Wednesday. Everyone is at work anyway.

  32. Very Lovecraftian, as Dr. Strange has always been. I'm looking forward to this and the movie. I could give a darn-diggity-darn about this as an investment. I want it for me.

  33. VERY early for me to be claiming victory on this but since i have 18 of them purchased for an average of $33.51 (actually even lower due to the insane prices i got on free JP poly bags with many of them, plus 20% coupon, plus GC discounts) But..................

  34. I know Warner Brothers is very involved with Dimensions but to see little Gizmo is certainly a head turner. The Gremlins films were memorable in their blend of horror and comedy being one of the few 'creature feature' titles that worked in my opinion despite some of the critics and I hear a third one is possibly in the works to continue the story. I suppose by today's standards, the animatronics used look "unreal" or "cartoony" but they worked in tandem with the quirky camp of the films I think and since they were physically built I can believe or relate better than the modern use of computer generated content that, well, "looks nice". We still have a long way to go before any form of computer animation can truly match up with all the details of reality.

  37. No surprises here. Just summer interns' first day on the job. Looks like they had one returning from last year who finally finished his 2015 assignment to update Red 5 as retired. Let's give this new round of interns a chance. Can't be worse than last year's group who designed the Assualt on Hoth.

  44. We finished 75102 Poe's X-wing a couple of days ago, our first X-wing to build. My son loves it because it has 6 different things that shoot. It was a pretty fun build, but I still don't think we are going to rush out and buy the Resistance X-Wing as well. The kids are working on the Phantom while I am at work today.

  45. I've got a feeling, a feeling deep inside Oh yeah, oh yeah, that's right I've got a feeling, TB will never die Oh no, no, oh no, oh no But yeah it looks great. New York gets all the small Architecture Sets, London gets all the multithousand piece creator sets. where's the fairness. what i wouldn't give for a 4000 piece Empire State Chrysler Building, George Washington, Verranzo Narrows, or Brooklyn Bridge. Cmon LEGO - giddyup.

  46. Built this bad boy over the weekend. I was up until 1:30 on Saturday night working on it. I thought about making the final push that night to finish but decided I had had one too many whiskey's at that point. Good thing I didn't, my 3 year old was up at 6:15 ready to go!!! TF looks way better than I thought it would. Now I have to figure out what to build next, Slave 1, Ferris Wheel, or start down the Modular rabbit hole!
