Built this bad boy over the weekend. I was up until 1:30 on Saturday night working on it. I thought about making the final push that night to finish but decided I had had one too many whiskey's at that point. Good thing I didn't, my 3 year old was up at 6:15 ready to go!!! TF looks way better than I thought it would. Now I have to figure out what to build next, Slave 1, Ferris Wheel, or start down the Modular rabbit hole!10 points

Lol ... I have no idea. I saw it on a top shelf in the toy section of this store. I had seen 3 of them up there several months ago. There was one left today. No pricing on the shelf. Just sitting there glistening in the glow of Walmart lighting. Oh a whim I decided to look it up on an online inventory checker. I cried a bit when it said $12. Grabbed the box from the top shelf and took it to a price checker. Cried a little more when it scanned at $12.9 points

We finished 75102 Poe's X-wing a couple of days ago, our first X-wing to build. My son loves it because it has 6 different things that shoot. It was a pretty fun build, but I still don't think we are going to rush out and buy the Resistance X-Wing as well. The kids are working on the Phantom while I am at work today.8 points

It took 10 weeks to crack this set open, but we finally broke down and built the Ferris Wheel on the weekend. What an awful, repetitive build but there is really is no alternative when you are building something like this and this is probably true for manufacturing a real life Ferris Wheel as well. This set is a gorgeous display piece, with a really nice selection of minifigures and I currently have it in the middle of a block of modular buildings as it towers over the people ready for a mechanical malfunction to annihilate my town! (that or a Stay Puft AKA toddler attack) I will add alternative colors to the carriages but they haven't arrived yet.6 points

Background : I live in a small town in rural Idaho. People do not have a lot of money, Idaho is 50th of 50 states on paying for welfare benefit, so even those that are not working do not have that flexible of incomes. I have had poor success (or none) selling on craigslist and local buy/sell/trade on facebook, only at Xmas for about a two week window has it been worth my time. I started the investing/flipping/picking game about two years ago. purpose of the yard sale was to clean out the clutter, and roll the dice and see if could sell any bigger ticket items. Secondary purpose was to become the go-to guy for the locals that are looking for retired or hard to find sets, or just need an exclusive quicker. Here is a list of sales, will try to put name and set number, first number in paranthesis is how much I paid for it. I am not including tax/gas etc, as a lot of the time it was from Lego store, and got 5% VIP, or a promo/freebee somewhere and it more than offset tax. yes there are better accountants than me, so just add 5-10% for costs if it bugs you. various speed champions ($15 each (was filler on orders to get promos)) x4 -----> $15 x 4 = $60 ecto-1 ($40) ------> $50 ninjago flyers ($0) ----- $7 x 2 = $14 GI Joe (Kre-O) $15-----$30 Mega Bloks jeep ($5) ----$11 bionicle ($4) ---$7 cindi carriage 41053 ($8) -- $20 x2 = $40 minions advent calendar ($11) -- $18 my-kids-wrote-down-wrong-set ($20)----$35 Chima 71032 ($10) -- $20 Steamroller 76013 ($22) --- $35 (to a friend) Jr. Batcave 10672 ($18) -- $30 Castle 70143 ($35) -- $50 (to a friend) Chima 70143 ($20) --- $25 SW grievous combo ($18, thank you target) - $35 x2 = $70 Turtle Lair 79117 ($19, thank you WM) - $80 Chima 70130 ($10) -- $15 Chima 70129 ($10) -- $15 Mega Bloks ($0, thrown in free from bulk lot) $5 a bag x6 = $30 Chima 850910 ($2.50) -- $6 Arctic Heli ($18, thank you Fred Meyer) -- $30 x 2 = $60 Elsa castle ($20 FM)-- $30 Tie Polybag ($3) -- $5 Kai Fire bike poly ($2) -- $5 brianiac ($18) - $25 x2 = $50 Call of duty set ($12) - $20 tyridium 75094 ($45) --- $79 bucket 10696 ($20) --- $25 x 2 = $50 random mega bloks ($5) -- $8 friends polybag (($0.39) -- $3 x 3 = $9 friends series 2 pet ($3) -- $7 olag poly ($3) -- $7 classic box ($10) - $15 DVD ($0, already sold minifigure and covered cost) - $5 MECHDRAGON ($18) --- $55 (highlight of the day hahaha) kre-O crap from WM ($10) - $10 I presold some stuff that didn't all get written down. Over all I had my cost at approximately $556.50 and had sales of $1101, around 97% profit overall. Numbers were padded by having no cost mega bloks. upside is all packaged delivered on time, in perfect condition, with no fees and 100% feedback summary- we live very close to a large baseball tournament going on, we timed our YS for that weekend. We live between two grade schools, so doing while school is in session will have similar results. I cleared out a TON of chima, 100% of all Mega Bloks I randomly acquired from other sales and had a hard time dumping. I was surprised how much princess and other stuff did not move. No one bought any exclusives, I had them all priced at MSRP, sales pitch was to save on shipping and no sales tax. All mine were bought during double VIP during nice promo season, I would be ok selling for little or no profit if I pick up a loyal customer. 4 or 5 people took my number and plan to contact me near christmas time. will probably do another closer to Christmas. what sells in my market? Deeply discounted crap, resold at discount, but at profit5 points

Sold a BvS Batmobile poly via lettermail within Canada a while back and the poly got lost in transit. No big deal, it happens from time to time on polys. Buyer contacted me saying he never received, but has experience selling polys himself (had over 3000 feedback and looked to be a LEGO seller as well) and knows it happens. He said he would still like the item, so I told him i'd ship another out ASAP. He ended up buying another from me to "help lessen the cost of shipping it again". Considering i got these for around $4 CAD or something and was selling for $10-15, i was more than happy to oblige! Buyer left good feedback in the end, and even if i was "scammed" out of the poly (which i don't think i was) i still ended up making even more in the end due to him buying another. Sure as hell beats the buyers claiming i never shipped the item and intended to scam them...4 points

But given ant-man's performance, this one will be massively hoarded during it's short lifespan.3 points

Amazon, not eBay, but a very rare message to receive.... Thank you so much for this awesome set! I'm glad I got the one you were selling! Brand new, just with a damaged box, it was so much cheaper & I didn't feel bad opening it! Again, thank you, I am very satisfied. :)3 points

I love this thread! About five months ago, my mom brought out a box from her storage with some old stuff in it and sitting there was the only Lego set my brother and I had when we were kids. We did have some basic bricks but this was the only actual set we had. We were well below middle-class when I was young so we didn't have much toys, let alone Lego. I still have vivid memories of building this set over and over again and playing with it.3 points

Print many, many copies. Use a different cashier each time you check out. Buy some, go have lunch, then go back for more later. Senior day is nice because you can literally buy the whole aisle in one transaction and get an extra 15% off, no questions asked. The coupons require a little more legwork to use effectively You need to have a rewards account to use the coupons. If you don't have one it is free to sign up. Once you are signed up you will get the coupons emailed to you whenever they are available. You can print them off from there..2 points

Senior day was actually last Wednesday, so unfortunately the stars and planets have not aligned with this round of clearance, unless you feel like gambling and hoping they last until the next senior day in July. The current coupon does help though. I guess I know what I'm doing this afternoon and tonight.2 points

I went to one store this AM and they had clearance labeled on shelves. I then drove to another store and nothing was labeled. I found an employee and they scanned the Poe's X-wing and said, "Yup, its on clearance". The employee made reference that some stores put tags out at night and some stores do it during the day. So, YMMV. And yes, at each store I left some for Little Timmy. Coupon:2 points

I had a 42056 Porsche on eBay yesterday - one of the lower priced BINs - using a stock photo. A buyer inquired if I had actual photos. I was having a stressful day, and may have been a bit of a jerk in my response: told him (all true) I was " ... working, didn't have time for photos right now, but the box - as I recall - was nearly flawless... but if he was looking for a 'museum piece', he should shop elsewhere." Less than an hour later, he bought it. I thought that was cool of him, and the least I could do was go snap some quick photos to show him he made the right choice. I pulled the box out and thought, "uuggghh" ... saw lots of minor nicks, scratches, and a light (but long) crease on the back side I had not noticed before. The box was still very nice... a 9 out of 10... just less perfect than I thought. So I took the photos and sent them, telling him that I know box condition is important to him, and if he wanted to cancel, that'd be fine. That was Saturday and - still expecting the worst in people - when he didn't reply right away, I figured he'd hold out and not reply ... maybe cancel his order Monday at 2 AM, and I'd miss the chance to relist this weekend. But a few hours later he replied... said the minor flaws looked fine to him, and he's looking forward to getting his new Porsche soon. In general, people are good.2 points
