Was looking in my parents loft at the weekend and found an old box of Lego, so my son and I had a bespoke building session! The jet looks like it may have once been set 6368 and the fire station set 6382. Either way these sets are some of the first I can remember as a kid and therefore my first owned, was good to recreate some fond memories!10 points

It took 10 weeks to crack this set open, but we finally broke down and built the Ferris Wheel on the weekend. What an awful, repetitive build but there is really is no alternative when you are building something like this and this is probably true for manufacturing a real life Ferris Wheel as well. This set is a gorgeous display piece, with a really nice selection of minifigures and I currently have it in the middle of a block of modular buildings as it towers over the people ready for a mechanical malfunction to annihilate my town! (that or a Stay Puft AKA toddler attack) I will add alternative colors to the carriages but they haven't arrived yet.8 points

I think the non-direct fees cost cannot be understated, but every person chooses to view them different. Time and gas to drive to "5+" Lego stores presents an additional cost. Shipping supplies is another cost for such a big item that you want handled properly. Risk of being mishandled in the mail/returned is a potential cost that should be considered. Not much opportunity cost since the money is back to you so quickly. On the other side, if you used several VIP accounts in the purchases you could have ~$150 in VIP points. If you got a fountain with each, you could easily clear $15-20 on each of those to help net another $150-200. Everyone looks at the QF differently, and to each his or her own. I hope you got what you wanted out of your transactions @toni82847 points

I would just like to point out that you just told the owner of the most comprehensive database of privately-held death stars in the world, that there are too many hoarded.7 points

I just hope everyone is somewhere they can easily change their drawers when the pics are leaked.6 points

Now I understand what you are trying to say. Thanks for the explanation. So for conclusion , I net around $60 each after all expenses. I will stop on this topic for now5 points

Before Prometheus came out, I thought it was going to be one of the best movies ever. I got an opening night ticket in IMAX 3-D. It was not one of the best movies ever...the characters act insanely and the plot jumps around as if two movies were merged together. I know they brought in that hack from "Lost" Lindelof who rewrote parts of the script, bringing in christian themes and such, and I think they just made it too quickly. The visuals are awesome. The story is a mess.5 points

Built this bad boy over the weekend. I was up until 1:30 on Saturday night working on it. I thought about making the final push that night to finish but decided I had had one too many whiskey's at that point. Good thing I didn't, my 3 year old was up at 6:15 ready to go!!! TF looks way better than I thought it would. Now I have to figure out what to build next, Slave 1, Ferris Wheel, or start down the Modular rabbit hole!4 points

I was 6 years old. First set, not my pic though. My grandpa thought that standard LEGO is too childish, so he bought this. Apparently, as it turns out this is one of the (if not the most) hardest to assemble Technic sets of all time.4 points

Very well written post SFC. The older I get, the more valuable time is to me. I'd rather be spending time with the kids or going golfing, etc. We don't know Toni's situation, so like SFC said, the way non-direct fees/cost are viewed differ for each person.3 points

Events in present day T2 was before the future in T1 and I am going to stop there. It was more of a joke hence the Time travel movies are best not to be looked at closely.3 points

There were some disappointing moments for me from this movie but I always find the Alien universe so intriguing. I am excited to see what they do with Alien: Covenant next year. Fassbender's character was solid and I'm glad to see him back.3 points

I dug out my modest AT-DP supply the other day and decided to pack them away again. It's a big, beautiful box, and I won't let mine go for such today's tiny margins. $100 or bust.3 points

So everyone buys 1/mo X 24 mo X 10,000 members .. Yeah that sounds like a great plan for the set to appreciate ...3 points

First look at Dr Strange set. Digging the Dr Strange mini figure.2 points

This was my very very first set, a polybag that I remember putting together sitting in the shopping cart while my mom did her shopping. I was probably 4? But then the next year I got a proper set. Of course I wanted the Skull's Eye, but this satisfied many a pirate adventure for years following!2 points

If the buyer simply proceeds to go ahead & add items to their cart as if it was a new order, Bricklink will automatically add the items as just another batch on the existing order (so long as the seller has not changed the status to packed yet)2 points

Picked up a NIB 7957 Sith Nightspeeder for $24 (+$5 shipping) on eBay. My kids have been clamoring for the Savage Oppress mini-figure ever since seeing it in the Lego SW Character Encyclopedia. I'll probably hold onto it and give it to them for Christmas. (Although knowing me its equally likely I will find another used set by then and end up saving the NIB one for my collection.)2 points

With all of the screeching, Temple of Doom always gave me headache and definitely the weakest of 3 original Indy movies.2 points

During yesterday's sale offer I purchased two more 76057 Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle for roughly 72€ each or 28% off RRP. First and foremost I want these for the nice bridge segments. So I hope to recoup a good portion of the initial cost through the excess minifigures. Also got a 75151 SW Clone Turbo Tank for around 83€ (primarily for the minifigs) and a 76045 Kryptonite Interception for 24€.2 points

At $5 a pop, just takes 3 pairs of FO SDs and Kylo's Shuttle to get it. I was able to get one today.2 points

I think they will have no difficulties. The issue is that only a few sets can be accepted with such a price. DS is one of them. 400 GBP is what I would expect. Anything below that would be underwhelming and get the Hoth treatment from the community.2 points

I don't know much, but one thing that I do know is that when Emazers goes third person he means business. Heed his advice fellow Pickers!2 points

Sounds pretty similar to most anyone who comes out of their dark ages. I dropped about $5k in my first 6-12 months. Trust me, eventually your wife WILL take notice. You're in a race against the clock, my friend. You need to start transitioning to selling just enough to give yourself a viable "I'm not just buying, I'm investing and reselling!" defense. Then you can downplay the 5 boxes a month that show up, and make a big show out of the 1 that you ship out. If my calculations are correct, that'll get you into Q1 2018 before she calls out your lopsided expense/income ledger. But thats future-cubfan78's problem to deal with, don't worry about that guy, he'll figure something out.2 points
