  1. Mine didn't turn out quite that well, but I needed a place to park the Mystery Machine. I still need to add some tiles to the street in front, but it is a good addition to the scary section of my town. (Used 2 75904 sets)

  4. Latest bit of info from the usual suspects is it is all OT based, not Rogue One, and will be a play set and is larger than 10188. VIP access will be Sept 2016 apparently, so not long to go now. I already own 10188 so if it is not spectacular I may have to go with Cindy's castle in Sept instead. Other bit of SW UCS news Snowspeeder pushed back to 2017 and the 40th anniversary UCS set for next year may just be the ISD which would be very fitting.

  6. I was wondering what was the first set you gals and guys owned? When did it start? For me, as far as I can remember, it was 6363 Auto Repair Shop, set made in 1980. I was 3 that year plus I wouldn't remember anything so it had to be couple years later. no, no helicopter, but yes, stickers Plus I bought it again few years ago On eBay, but later again, I sold it lol

  14. Great thread. I can hardly remember last week, let alone 35 years ago, but I think it was this: Another in the running would be this: followed shortly thereafter by 6390 and 6383. I remember staring in fascination at the back of the instructions for 7720.

  16. My first set I remember playing with was 392. I was 3 and zooming this around my grandparents house. Although what I consider my first big kid LEGO set and the one that got me hooked was 6270. I got this for Christmas 1990, I was 6. Classic Pirate sets will also be my favorite theme.

  30. Well, I wouldn't be heartbroken if it's a bigger, better version, and I would probably still buy it. Compared to models released in the last couple of years, 10188 is kind of starting to show its age. With regards to the UCS next year.... FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS GOOD, PLEASE BE TRUE!!!!!!! I would probably pee my pants if that was the case. Of all the sets I had, 10030 is the one I truly miss the most. I need it in my collection, but not at the current prices, that's for sure.

  44. I don't think they factor in the aftermarket when applying price points to new releases. Just a statement, based on ill-witted logic.

  45. Facts are irrelevant if you think the sets are ugly. Accuracy to the source material or not, they just look bleh. Sometimes those 2D shots don't do those small sets justice and you need to see them in person.

  46. Mine was 147 - Refrigerated Wagon from 1976. Got it as a present from my dad when he returned from a business trip. As I was 3yrs old at the time I got it, I didn't properly build it until a few years later. Still remember that I got it - room I was in, how I sat down with my dad who tried to explain it to me. Great memory

  47. The first and only set I needed (lego was different back then) until I bought the United Nations over 40 years later. My grandparents ordered it from the JC Penny catalogue and it was delivered wrapped in butcher paper, I still remember the day it arrived. It had the removable white plastic sorting trays and you could build anything you wanted to.
