These boxes aren't pretty, but $13.96 minus red card seems about right.5 points

Only if you promise to give me the full TRU experience. Sweep me off my feet with prices, then cancel the order within 2 to 48 hours and make me jump through hoops to get my money back. I'm so excited!5 points

You are free to leave whatever feedback, but it is not going to change a thing since TRU is not beholden to the same eBay rules as the rest of us small time eBay sellers5 points
-
On top of that, I'd expect exactly zero buyers are bothering to check TRU feedback when deciding to make a purchase from them or not. TRU feedback could be 80% and no one would even notice. Most likely people just see the seller is "TRU" or "Target" and set expectations to what they get when shopping at the store or ordering from their website. At least I know that's what I do.4 points

My son little Timmy really wanted this. SHAME ON YOU TRU for false selling. Buyer: k***k ( 1866) During past month LEGO Pirates The Brick Bounty 70413 (#172226317537) US $109.99 View Item LOL, this is a feedback comment a customer left for eBay TRU from the action yesterday. Maybe a fellow brickpicker? What are the chances someone has a son that happens to be named little Timmy and he is sad b/c he didn't get his Brick Bounty?!!3 points

I doubt that will play a big role, @Ciglione. The biggest factor contributing to people coming back to Lego from their Lego Dark Ages is simply because kids who play with Lego usually feel that Lego is a kids' toy when they're in their late teenager years. They don't have the money yet to buy the advanced Lego sets, they don't have their own house yet to display those sets, and they're more into videogames, the dating-game, finding their path into adulthood. Then when the dust settles and they've landed a decent job, live on their own instead of with their parents, maybe have a partner and have kids themselves, they suddenly have their eyes opened to the wonderful sets they missed during those Dark Ages and they want to catch up. I think: as long as kids play with Lego now (and since Lego is more popular now than ever before), these kids will go through a Lego Dark Ages period, and a percentage of them will return to Lego to become an AFOL. So our future actually looks bright!3 points

Official Lego statement about gearbox issue - smacks a bit of Wall-E´s drooping head V1.0 Thank you to all our dedicated fans for the comments regarding the GT3 RS by LEGO Technic. It is correct that the gears in this model are not sequential as in the real Porsche PDK. This is however, a deliberate decision taken to ensure that we make the best possible LEGO version of this amazing car that both meets our design requirements and gives everyone a great building and product experience. It was a considered decision taken during development that the gears running in the correct order meant that it did not result in a great experience when driving the car. Too many gears are engaged at the same time and smooth running with all those tolerances is just not possible. If you switch the build in steps 267 and 269 the gears will run sequentially, and everyone who feels that this is the better solution should feel encouraged to do so. LEGO Technic really is the ultimate open source design product and now that it is finally available, we look forward to seeing all the ‘improved’ models our fans create. After all, that is what LEGO building is all about. We hope everyone will have a great building experience and feel a strong sense of pride from creating both our version and their very own LEGO Technic representation of a Porsche GT3 RS. We are very fortunate to have such skilled and dedicated fans that can spot this small deviation from reality and would like to thank everyone for sharing their ideas and expert knowledge.3 points

Last day of Second Grade for my oldest. How the hell have we already had three last days? I swear school started just last month.2 points

That looked very consistent with a certain LEGO set that may or may not be coming later this year .. and people already complained about that supposed new set without having all the facts2 points

Those are some nice seals @dcdfan @Nick83 I would suggest just making notations in the threads dedicated to those sets. If a thread were made dedicated to the seal codes, what are the parameters? just exclusives? just certain themes? Who makes the determination? It would just be a mess of updates if someone decided to list all of the angry birds one day or Nexo knights another. Whatever pertinent details you are looking for would either be washed away by what you might consider trivia, or not done because the thread wasn't dedicated to the sets that they were interested in. Each of the major sets has their own thread and people will sometimes update what seal code they received in that thread. I would suggest following that basic procedure would give the precision that I assume that you would like.2 points

Wow! Someone in Belgium is selling a HUGE collection of LEGO, ranging from 1978 to 2014, and more than 2000 sets and weighing more than 1000 kg! His minimum price is €40,000 for the whole lot and he doesn't want to split it up. http://www.2dehands.be/speelgoed-spelletjes/speelgoed/lego/lego-verzameling-1978-2014-2000-293405293.html Some images:2 points

Not fully follow your logic, but never mind. To me, the simplest explanation usually is the right explanation. Anyway, I think we are way off topic now...I appreciate your discussion though. I changed my mind and actually ordered it online yesterday. I saw on EB that many ppl already come up with good improvements. Hopefully when my set finally arrives we already have a perfect solution to solve all issues, I will then build it the "correct" way from the beginning. That's the bonus of waiting, :).2 points

I wouldn't have been as skeptical if the number of sets remained a few, but the list of retired goodies grew too large.2 points

Mine showed not cancelled as well, but then after going into the order detail it said partial refund issued. I called after seeing tru@ebay phone # on the PP transaction and the guy said he hadn't heard of any of this yet but all my orders were indeed cancelled....they will all be cancelled...cross what you will but as the prophetic @exciter1 called yesterday with his ZERO orders placed, this was a serious human "glitch/error". We all tried to hope in one hand but the other hand filled first with you know what...2 points

Plenty use 2 or 3 copies of GE to add extra floors for their layouts as well. It is also a corner which makes it that much better. PS is harder to extend vertically but you are right plenty use multiple sets to expand their city in between the other modulars. PS will do fine in time, just a lot longer time than the other sets. I don't see the popularity of the modular theme going away anytime soon.2 points

-> "Due to unforeseeable circumstances (aka our very own, ever-growing incompetence - personal annotation) the LEGO Technic Porsche GT3 RS is temporarily not available on shop.LEGO.com. We're working on making the set available in our online shop as soon as possible."2 points

I really don't think you can send a product all over the world by mistake. Just imagine the costs compared to sending them to the distribution hubs. This was clearly a deliberate decision.2 points

Just binge watched both series of Rebels and gotta say I like it. Wasn't a big fan of Clone Wars, but I think that was because it was a continuation of the Prequel Trilogy, whereas this is and feels like more of a precursor to the Original Trilogy. I also no longer hate the sight of the Ghost or Phantom, what I thought were crap looking ships aren't as bad as all that. Definitely want to see more sets from the series too, they really dropped the ball with Phoenix Home when they could have given us a Blockade Runner in the blue livery instead. I think Ketsu Onyo's ship, the Imperial Light Crusier and the Imperial Interdictor would make nice additions too, better designs than a lot of the recent Force Awakens tripe.2 points

Maybe it is far fetched. But it can be a factor. The truth is. No one knows for sure. But one needs to calculate using all the factors.2 points

Unless you open to verify, you just have to go with your gut. Look at the seals to see if they are clear or look kind of cloudy, give it a shake and listen for the sounds of loose pieces, look at the box to see if there a bulge like some opened it and then stuffed bags back in. I usually get a bad vibe from some boxes. It's not scientific but it's the only way I know.2 points

I found Bricklink.com in early May 2016, ordered ship sections so I could make my own version of Black Seas Barracuda, a set I have coveted for decades. I found a huge lot on craigslist, and the seller referenced Brickpicker.com to price his sets. I decided to check out the website, especially since I just bought my first Star Wars Ultimate Collectors Series, the Sandcrawler! After failing to procure the Super Star Destroyer, I made a decision to start buying Lego sets as an investment. And my newfound interest in my Lego connection is a result of my 1st and 2nd daughter reaching Lego age, and the birth of my son on May 8th!2 points

Don't think there's really a fool proof way to tell without opening and counting bags. You can check weight but that's still not 100%...2 points

while supply is high, so is demand for these sets. plus more folks will be attracted to this addictive theme and want to buy the sets they missed. in the long run, modular blg sets (like the winter theme) will be good investments.2 points

As I said, if you get the e-gift cards from cash rewards , they are currently at 8% off, so you could get the GBHQ for about $437.2 points

I'm actually stoked for that AT-ST. Haven't got round to buying the earlier variants and 75153 does look like a pretty good upgrade. I reckon that set will be well embraced.2 points

I just don't get it. Force awakens comes out. Everyone whinges, no new ships, no imagination. Rogue one comes out with new ships, everyone whinges, don't like them, not as nice as the old ships. This is why star wars fans should never ever be listened to when it comes to creating new content.2 points
